  • Vehi Sheamda is an ancient Hebrew prayer, sung every Passover Seder. It states that in each generation the enemies of the Jewish people seek their demise, but affirms that God ultimately foils their plans. In one famous instance told by a survivor on the March of the Living, on a cold December New Year’s eve when oppressed Jewish camp inmates were ordered by their sadistic Nazi camp guard to dance and sing - they chose to sing these words in Hebrew, a brave act of defiance during these darkest of days. The melody, written by Yonatan Razel, has made this among the most well-known songs in Israel and the Jewish world. The song was performed by acclaimed Israeli singers representing the third generation, Harel Skaat and Yonatan Razel.
