Jennie, 27, in the red, Korean. Born in S Korea but lived in New Zealand for 5 years. Main rapper, Lead vocalist.
Lisa, 26, red hair, Thai. Born and raised in Thailand. Main dancer, Lead rapper, Sub vocalist.
Jisoo (gee-sue), 28, who you said was gorgeous, Korean. Born and raised in S Korea. Visual, Lead vocalist.
Rosè (rozay like the wine), 26, blonde hair, Korean. Born in New Zealand but grew up in Australia. Has an aussie accent. Main vocalist, Lead dancer.

Kpop is more an industry than a genre so songs are constantly mixing and blending different sounds with them. KPop has a little bit of everything for everyone.
That I can definitely still and stand behind. Appreciate the education. I've known about BLACKPINK for quite some time but haven't given them a proper sit down, or the time of day. They're amazing.
the 4 members of Blackpink are multilingual since they speak 3 to 5 different languages, the group is so unique and different that it doesn't have a leader (something very rare in kpop because all groups have leaders) and they don't have a leader because all stand on different pillars.
Majority of them speaks 3-4 different languages fluently. English is one of them. None of them was born or had lived in the usa but speaks perfect english. They are the biggest girl group in the world not just south korea
PINK VENOM achieved 90 million views in 24 hours the day of its premiere on CZcams and their first live performance was at the 2022 VMAs, they are the first kpop girl group (in all of history) to sing at the VMAs, they are the most winning girl group in the history of the VMAs and in 2022 they won 2 awards: BEST METAVERSE PERFORMANCE and BEST KPOP (LISA won it), first kpop kpop soloist to win at the VMAs.

Most people, including me, usually hate CC's being on. For aesthetic, wrong language, etc. or otherwise. I haven't had enough people want it so I keep them off for now. If that changes over time, definitely will consider putting it on. No skin off my back! :)
@@TheBlackSpeed the CC is not the best, but it's officially planted into the video by the record label themselves, so we can say the translation still decently accurate and it's definitely nothing near like those shitty translation from ytb's 'auto-generated' CC
And obviously, it could be very distracting to watch both visuals, focusing on the audio and paying attention to the CC at the same time, but again it still does help for anyone who don't understand foreign language such as Korean
Then again, it's up to you tho, if you wanna keep it off of your screen then it's totally understandable, but if you do want to understand what they were saying in the video then better use it and always feel free to pause at any scene if it's needed by any means 👊😎

They're all beautiful. Jennie and Lisa are the two rappers, with Jennie being the best. That said, I probably wouldn't listen to them, but I do because all four can actually sing.

I had never even heard the name BlackPink or any of their music 4 or 5 months ago.
BP mixes Korean and English wording so the words fit into the phrasing of the song(s).
They are mostly written and produced by Teddy Park who is a 45 year old Korean guy that grew up in LA. That should explain a lot. It is a hip hop foundation being echoed back to us in America. And we love the Blackpink remix.
They combine English and two other languages so that it best fits the phrasing of the song.

They absolutely do. Have you seen the documentaries on them? It's horrible. They churn them out like candy all the while discarding them once they are of no use. It's sad. I still respect the musicality and artistry of what their naturally able to do, but definitely still don't dismiss how terrible the conditions are.

One of my other favorite girl groups is Mamamoo. They are all iconic queens with amazing singing voices and Moonbyul is a really talented rapper. I would recommend HIP and AYA. Or one of their member’s Hwasa recently put out a song called “I Love My Body” its a bop.
I tend to listen to a lot of music that features traditional instruments.
While many favour Baby Metal from Japan, I prefer Wagakki Band because they are easier on the ears and offer more varied music, more like you'd hear in Anime or games

I would say it is only K-Pop due to geography. Musically it is totally western.
If you heard this on the radio you would just assume they are American.
Loving the audio, but the attention deficit type video editing gives me a headache.
To be fair, I don't think I would. I could hear distinct, stark differences between what a Western pop band sounds like vs. this sort of sound, sonically-speaking. I WILL say, I HAD mistake K-Pop bands for Western pop bands before, so I do see your point.

@@TheBlackSpeed (c)rap and hip hop did more damage to the history of music than Covid19 did to humanity. Most of the "music" is sampled or stolen, and (c)rap isn't a talent, it's a skill. I'm 73 years old, and all I can do is compare (c)rap and hip-hop to four generations of talented singers and musicians.
Lol this is such a horrible take and I feel bad for anyone who subjects themselves to limiting amazing artists because of a genre they clearly don't understand. People once said Punk and Rock did damage to the planet, and was a catalyst for assault and drugs, but here we are. Not listening to their nonsense and praising the genre, as we should. Because good music is good music despite horrible opinions of it. Go outside of your comfort zone, and radio, open your ears, and that mind. Or don't. I don't care. All I can do is suggest reading up while you still have time on this planet. :) You're too old to have opinions like that.

But why are we comparing apples to oranges? I'm not trying to compare Michael Jackson to Korn. And by the way, Prince at one point finally embraced hip-hop despite not really understanding it, per his own admission. Again, you like what you like, which I'm not going to talk about even though many people think rock is just angst music and country is whiney farm music. Where would that get me?
