Seeing that Reptile can phase between lizard and human form during the fight makes me have hope that they'll have beast boy for I3 phasing between different animals during the fight bc I didn't think it was logical for beast boy to change into different animals during the fight

I love that Reptile's human costume has the loin cloth draping down to his ankles in the back, mimicking the tail that he has in his reptilian form. Such a great little detail

He's always been a shape shifter, that's not new to his lore. He is part of a reptilian race that can shape shift to look human, but the longer he stays away from his race the more feral he became and slowly loses the capability to shift. They just now finally decided to put it in story for once instead of just reducing him to jobber.

And also at 3:34 its hard to see so watch in slow motion the kick he does before he rips his arm. His leg splits in 2 and connects back and at 3:44 his body just contorts as he moves away.
Yeah I had watch the trailer multiple times to catch all the crazy shit Havik does. Like snapping his neck open to hurl a giant blood ball. Or stabbing Ashrah with the bones in his forearms for his Fatal Blow (because I thought those were spiked gauntlets at first, but no his arms are cut off and he uses the exposed bones to stab Ashrah).

You’re “half” right. Reptile can completely shapeshift his body into his lizard monster form he just seems to have pretty good control of the shapeshifting aspect like the half transformation but for a split second you could see him being able to manifest only the tail.

Wow Reptile and Baraka are graduating from minion/jobber #1 and #2 to being with the good guys it's probably the most surprising thing MK1 has shown so far.
They FINALLY gave Reptile some love & didn't make him a mindless sniveling jobber, gave him an actual personality & the shapeshifting aspect appeases people who wanted human or reptile version. Killing it with 3D era Kharacters. Havik, Ashrah, & Serena's updates are so sick.👏👏
I love that, because human reptile is the norm, his attacks when he turns full lizard are allowed to be wild and brutal. I particularly like the slide where he chomps their leg and does a crocodile roll.
Back in the day, my favorite MK characters were Baraka and Reptile, so seeing them redone so well in MK1 is fantastic for me. Just seeing how both of them (among the rest of the revealed fighters) are being treated in the new game is enough to make me much more interested in MK1 compared to the last two MK titles. Can't wait to see how the other fighters shape up.
Personally I don’t like the idea of the Tarkatans being diseased as apposed to being a race but that’s just me. As for Reptile, the first MK I played was Shaolin Monks and he was my favourite in that and that is my favourite design but I love this one too and it’s great he actually has some character now instead of just being a jobber

I'm so happy that his moveset seems similar to his mk9 and mkx fighting styles. It was awesome seeing reptile do a combination of lizard predator shit in combo with actually knowing how to properly kick your ass with hand to hand in mkx.
Reptile and Baraka's stories parallel each other. Reptile's natural form is monstrous, but he has the power to look human whenever he chooses. Baraka's was born normal but was cursed with a monstrous form at all times by the Tarkat disease. I'm thinking they'll be best buddies in this timeline.
I'm not a fan of the 3D PS2 era Mortal Kombat trilogy, but it's really cool to see NRS bringing some much deserved love for that era with Ashrah and Havik. And Reptile looks absolutely amazing, I'm glad to see he FINALLY has a bigger role on the story beyond "mindless jobber who gets his ass beat a lot and then dies".

Every character looked amazing Reptile best of both world with best human Reptile design and reptilian transformation, Havik looking like undead zombified Jago, Ashra incorpating more of the demon design but still keeping her juxtaposing white angelic garb. Love it. Gameplay too Havik's zombie-like moves, Ashra combo with Cyrax kameo, Reptile slide, best MK1 trailer so far imo.

They’ve been working on that humanoid to animal form. They did it with Kotal to the panther and it’s even more fluent with reptile. It’s setting the tone for when they bring Beast Boy to IJ3. He’s been one of the most requested characters. They couldn’t pull it off before but now it’s on

The first Mortal Kombat was THE game that got kid me into video games. Starting off as the franchise's first secret character, Reptile held a special place in my heart. But because of that, I could never really enjoy his more lizardy depictions, as I just thought the ninja look was better... But not anymore! THIS is the greatest version yet! Probably the best possible look for the ninja design (simplistic, not overly ornate & silly), coupled with a cool lizard shifting effect! And he's young! And he's a good guy!?!? As Max said many times in the video - *HELL YEAH! HELL YES!"* 😂

Reptile looks amazing. Him being a shapeshifter was not something I anticipated and I’m curious what to know what his backstory is. Havik is definitely the best out of the 3d characters and I feel like he’s underrated. I’m not a big Ashrah fan personally but I’m sure there are some people who are happy that she’s in.

I'm happy that they made Reptile so amazing, but I can't help but love Havik's return and what they did. Yeah, she spun up torso around and snapped his own head, but just the idea that he can just casually weaponize his body in such crazy ways makes me just love the creativity of his moves.
As someone who watched their older brother play UMK3 on their computer as a little kid, I am SO happy human Reptile is back! I absolutely love the transformation effects and the little detail of his lizard tail being transformed into a piece of fabric in his human form!
Bro I didn't even notice that Havik's windmill move is him splitting his torso from his legs and spinning his entire top-half while the legs walk forward normally as he regenerates. OH MAN I MISSED HIM.

If you didnt noticed, Reptile back in Mk 4 was turning more into a lizard because he wasnt around his race after shao kahn killed them leaving him to evolve more into his natural form having him forever stuck in his lizard form in Mk deadly alliance all the way up to Mkx

Ninja reptile was my favourite in MK2. I never liked the lizard designs of Reptile since Deception. Now they found a way to have separate forms to please both sides. I dig it.

what i love most about reptile's natural form is that its literally ripped straight from the MK 2021 movie. its just perfect.

They’ve been working on that humanoid to animal form. They did it with Kotal to the panther and it’s even more fluent with reptile. It’s setting the tone for when they bring Beast Boy to IJ3. He’s been one of the most requested characters. They couldn’t pull it off before but now it’s on

The first Mortal Kombat was THE game that got kid me into video games.
Starting off as the franchise's first secret character, Reptile held a special place in my heart. But because of that, I could never really enjoy his more lizardy depictions, as I just thought the ninja look was better...
But not anymore! THIS is the greatest version yet! Probably the best possible look for the ninja design (simplistic, not overly ornate & silly), coupled with a cool lizard shifting effect!
And he's young! And he's a good guy!?!? As Max said many times in the video - *HELL YEAH! HELL YES!"* 😂
They nailed Reptile. These versions of the 3d era characters are actually sick. I didn't like any of those characters back in the day, but I'm loving what i see so far.

Reptile looks amazing. Him being a shapeshifter was not something I anticipated and I’m curious what to know what his backstory is. Havik is definitely the best out of the 3d characters and I feel like he’s underrated. I’m not a big Ashrah fan personally but I’m sure there are some people who are happy that she’s in.

Nothing feels better than seeing your main come back from vacation. They nailed Reptile man. Kind of hard to be upset losing out on him for one game with such a stellar redesign. All these characters are looking so good.

This trailer was amazing! I also really happy to see Sareena back, I'm hoping she will be playable (maybe dlc if not in the base roster) but at least she's here
She’s only a kameo. The only characters that are both fully playable and kameos are scorpion, subzero and Kung Lao

I'm happy that they made Reptile so amazing, but I can't help but love Havik's return and what they did. Yeah, she spun up torso around and snapped his own head, but just the idea that he can just casually weaponize his body in such crazy ways makes me just love the creativity of his moves.
I LOVE that they're showing some love to the 3d era characters! I really hope Ashrah has a costume with her hat though. It made her stand out

As someone who watched their older brother play UMK3 on their computer as a little kid, I am SO happy human Reptile is back! I absolutely love the transformation effects and the little detail of his lizard tail being transformed into a piece of fabric in his human form!

Bro I didn't even notice that Havik's windmill move is him splitting his torso from his legs and spinning his entire top-half while the legs walk forward normally as he regenerates.

If you didnt noticed, Reptile back in Mk 4 was turning more into a lizard because he wasnt around his race after shao kahn killed them leaving him to evolve more into his natural form having him forever stuck in his lizard form in Mk deadly alliance all the way up to Mkx

Ninja reptile was my favourite in MK2. I never liked the lizard designs of Reptile since Deception. Now they found a way to have separate forms to please both sides. I dig it.
