I flew from Norway to the Gunks all the way back in 1981 for my first visit to the US, I climbed a lot of stuff over a two-week period, including lots of roofs, but nothing like this! I don't remember if this boulder was already established at the time? I do know that at my 171 cm (about 5'7) there is absolutely no way I would be able to reach around the lip! Very well done!
It’s pretty amazing, I will admit. The thing about rock climbing though is, all it takes is one missed hand hold, or a foot slip, to fall. And that fall can be catastrophic. I’m really afraid of heights so rock climbing is out for me. I’m also terrified of confined spaces. I think there might be evolutionary advantages for people like me although the downside is, being so risk-averse can be paradoxically a risk in itself. My wife hates it that I dislike risk so much.
Agreed that it's in the softer end, but I'd still take 10 bc the lip sequence feels more difficult than anything I've encountered on most 9s - I say go for it! GL!
how many climbers does it take to send a V10? answer? 4, 1 to send and 3 to say "cmon. cmon. yes. cmon"
cmon
That's a V1 in my rock garden.
Word.
That match looked diabolical but you made it look so smooth, nice work man.
Great spotting😂
😬
Northumberland style.
The carriage road at the Gunks, pure fun.
how do people hold and hang onto what looks like almost flat rock
great send! that heel hook is terrifying i would never 😆

Sick send looks mad fun
Dude is so strong! what!🔥

INCREDIBLE STUFF
Very impressive.

Nice work bro.
Nice use of heel hooks. That looks fun to climb.
Solid heel hook
Well done Sir :)

Strong kid!
I once saw someone do this climb in sneakers

wwho\s that shorty in the back
The man made that look easy. It's not. Really hard move. !00%
Where is this?
In the Shawangunks, which is a mountain range in the Hudson Valley about 2 hours north of NYC
@@treylitefm Thanks, it looked like somewhere I had been recently, I guess not.
This would be a V7 max at a place like Stone Fort
v10 where??!?!?
this looks way softer then v10 lol
Lol
Gunks ? I think so. 😮
nice CGI
Sick! How tall are you?
5'11 w a 3 in ape index
those long limbs
I'm nowhere near being a climber but this rock looks easy from my chair :) Anyway, good job :)

You sound like tons of fun
This is the first V10 i think i could actually do. Looks kinda soft.
Def soft

performance enhancing substances?
No effective spotting whatsoever.
That's intentional, I specifically asked folks not to spot
@@treylitefm😂 why!?
@@SwitchUpYt fair question lol I typically request a spotter when I feel unsafe or not in control. neither was the case in this instance 🙃
@@treylitefm there's also like 5 pads and the landing looks flat as anything, don't really need a spot in this case!
@@joshbailey872 exactly!
