Rising R&B songstress Maeta first stole the hearts of fans through SoundCloud releases and Instagram cover clips. Her debut EP, Do Not Disturb, came in November 2019 and encapsulated Maeta's many moods and emotions since moving from Indianapolis to Los Angeles earlier that year. About the lead single "Babygirl," Maeta told the Prelude Press, "It was written about a night when I first moved to LA. I was frustrated and overwhelmed with life and wanted to shut out everything and just be alone. It’s about taking control of what you give attention to, and being shamelessly selfish in a way."
Maeta kicked off 2020 by releasing music videos for every song on the Do Not Disturb EP. Discussing the video for "Payback," the 19-year-old told Vents Magazine, “my music makes me feel sexy, confident, and empowered. That’s the vibe I want to share with everyone.”
