2023 RockShox forks & shocks :: are they really that good?

Our review team has now been trail testing the all new MY23 RockShox gear on their bikes for six full months and whilst we were very impressed with the performance, tuneability and buttery plushness of the new Zeb, Lyrik and SuperDeluxe shocks during our 'first impressions' review (which you can find up here on our channel). But now 6 months down the track after the boys have racked up some serious trail miles testing them throughout the Aussie winter, have their opinions started to waver? Looking forward to receiving my new Cannondale Habit 2 Carbon with the Pike Shocks. Adjustments galore with ease of finding your way back if you over compensate. Not just air pressure and tattletale o-ring. Great ideas are often those where we say "Why didn't someone think of this sooner?".

I recently upgraded from a 170mm Yari to a 160mm lyrik. The difference is huge, it tracks so well now and it just gets better the faster I go and the harder I hit stuff.
Still have the stock Deluxe rear shock without external expansion, but it’s ok for now. I think they make good suspension, but id like to try a spring fork one day

So the rear shocks from rock shox how do you get the right amount of travel to fit your frames geometry? example 190x45 size determine the amount of travel?

So what it means the dial to be let say 2 clicks from fully closed now is 2 clicks from the mid?

"Attainable suspension" is exactly what Rockshox is. Its hard for me to buy anything else than Rockshox for suspension because they're priced so well.

Absolutely; we don't like that there are only 2 days in the weekend, we don't like the price of petrol at the moment, and we don't like that we have to wait a whole year for Christmas to roll around... But when it comes to the bikes and gear that we review up here on our channel we're very fortunate that we're tend to only review really sweet stuff. Every now and then we come across a certain area of something that we don't love and we're more than happy to include that in our review, but for the most part we only have positive things to say because we're riding good gear.
