    In this episode, we give our initial thoughts on the Roam Adventure Co Vagabond Roof Top Tent with annex. We installed the tent on our Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JKU 2012 and camped our first few nights in it last weekend. We show you how to set up the tent and give you our pros and cons to using the tent. We use the Roam annex with our tent and camp with our kids. We let you know what problems we have had with our tent and give our overall impressions on roof top tent winter camping as a family! Let us know if there is anything else you would like to see in our next roof top tent review!

    Quiet zippers means the zipper grabs aren’t the metal ones that will jingle around in the wind. It’s the cord zipper grabs.

    Rip-Stop is not rip/puncture prevention. Its prevents the rip from propagating further from the origin. If the annex did not have rip-stop the holes that have occurred would have continued to rip beyond the initial puncture. Having said all that the annex does seem pretty light weight in comparison. Is the material thicker then your average ground tent?

    • @BenandBrandi
      @BenandBrandi  Před 4 lety +1

      Seems to be we have a ground tent we have used several times for the last 2 years and does not have a single hole in it, have used this twice and somehow it has 2 holes in it. This is just the annex the tent material is very durable. Thanks for you comment! please subscribe. We put out a new episode weekly.

    I have a Roam Vagabond XL and Tepui Autana Ruggedized. The cover on the Roam is really nice. I also liked the curved rain fly. With that said, The Tepui is much better built. The Roam rain fly is connected to the poles by a sleeve of clear plastic while Tepui uses the tent fabric. Another issus is the 3 tie down staps at the end of the over hang. On the Roan the straps are connected only at the seam. Mine broke within a dozen trips. The Tepui is sewn along the fabric. Much heavier duty. After years of use, the straps show no signs of wearing out. A friend's 23Zero also has the straps sewn like the Tepui.
    I am very disappointed with the Roam. In my opinion, the Roam is not in the same catagory as Tepui.

    You could orientate the drop down to come out over the back of the jeep too right? The 5th wheel area? So if I had a prep table /work table on the tailgate I could have that set up inside of the annex? I really want it, just want to make sure I could orientate it in that direction too. Thanks.

Bought a diesel bunk heater uses diesel burns a little over 1/4 gallon a night built inside of tool box simple install they make gas but I don't recommend it gas ignite much easier than diesel takes a lot to ignite diesel there a few videos on CZcams on diesel bunker heater cheap Chinese one 125.00 but good spar complete 850 to 1500 but the last a life time.
