Yes, like in his teen days he used to say things like "are you kidding me" in a real match. Magnus is in the perfect spot to humble everyone in his era. Players like Nepo, Hikaru, Kramnik, got too much ego and if there's no Magnus then they would live in a different world.
He be like: I know what they are trying to do and they know that I am aware of what they are trying to do.
Pretty much all of it.
But they don't KNOW that we know they know we know
Magnus is the only person on earth that can say those types of things and everyone know hes just saying facts and not bragging. Maybe its the nature of chess that its different from other sports

Chess is the only sport where every player is constantly rated, using one of the most accurate systems in human history. Your place in the chess pantheon is established brick by brick, game by game. Individual interpretation or opinions just don't matter.
@@TWW-zk9gwThat’s only true when comparing people of the same generation. It is very hard to compare someone like Fischer to someone similar in rating like Nakamura due to the nature of rating inflation. Here interpretation does matter

No, he would say "I might get less than 95%" and be spot on. Magnus isn't falsely humble, he knows how good he is.

Alireza and Nodirbek are better in terms of fighting without regard of who the opponent is.
@@AhsanGaming133 I considered the point of the initial post: "the leading players of their generation". How not to consider Gukesh, 17 years old, the great winner of the World Chess Championship - Candidates Tournament, a leading player of his generation ?
He drew the Top dogs and defeated his peer group in the candidates. He is ahead of the pack, however Ding is a different kind animal when he is in his zone.
@@AhsanGaming133 what are you smoking? gukesh is NOT a solid, positional player (relatively speaking of course, at this level all players are somewhat universal), in fact he always prefers to go for double edged complications and attacking chances and tends to have more decisive (including losses) games than other players in the same tournaments. Compare this with someone like Nihal Sarin who IS more of a solid positional player and is a big reason he has been stagnating outside the 2700 club because it is difficult for him to win in open tournaments vs 2600 opposition and raise his rating.

He's the school example of dry Nordic stoicism. They're just not easily impressed nor show emotions easily. Same goes for the Nordic F1 drivers like Hakkinnen and Raikonen.
Magnus knows that risk is necessary and he knows how much to afford.

I would like to ask Magnus if he can calculate as many moves as Hikaru? And what does he think make him better than Hikaru?
I saw another video recently where Magnus calls himself lazy at calculation and explains that he relied heavily on calculation in his younger years when he had less experience and understanding of the game.

What does intelligence have to do with it? StarCraft players are absolutely the same ordinary people as chess players
Starcraft 2 has more possibilities but this does not mean that those players are smarter. Both games can not be fully mastered by a human. To be in the top of both games you have to have talent, a high iq and work hard. The road to the top chess grandmasters takes longer though to be fair. Anyway, to me both are respectable in their own way. I guess you can become a grandmaster in both without having a very high iq but you will have to compensate by working harder than the rest because your progress will be slower.
