      Yes, like in his teen days he used to say things like "are you kidding me" in a real match. Magnus is in the perfect spot to humble everyone in his era. Players like Nepo, Hikaru, Kramnik, got too much ego and if there's no Magnus then they would live in a different world.

      Chess is the only sport where every player is constantly rated, using one of the most accurate systems in human history. Your place in the chess pantheon is established brick by brick, game by game. Individual interpretation or opinions just don't matter.

      @@TWW-zk9gwThat’s only true when comparing people of the same generation. It is very hard to compare someone like Fischer to someone similar in rating like Nakamura due to the nature of rating inflation. Here interpretation does matter

      @@blenga2no? Gukesh’s games aren’t “fun” in terms of fighting chess. He is more solid also is slow like young Fabiano.
      Alireza and Nodirbek are better in terms of fighting without regard of who the opponent is.

      @@AhsanGaming133 what are you smoking? gukesh is NOT a solid, positional player (relatively speaking of course, at this level all players are somewhat universal), in fact he always prefers to go for double edged complications and attacking chances and tends to have more decisive (including losses) games than other players in the same tournaments. Compare this with someone like Nihal Sarin who IS more of a solid positional player and is a big reason he has been stagnating outside the 2700 club because it is difficult for him to win in open tournaments vs 2600 opposition and raise his rating.

      I saw another video recently where Magnus calls himself lazy at calculation and explains that he relied heavily on calculation in his younger years when he had less experience and understanding of the game.

      Starcraft 2 has more possibilities but this does not mean that those players are smarter. Both games can not be fully mastered by a human. To be in the top of both games you have to have talent, a high iq and work hard. The road to the top chess grandmasters takes longer though to be fair. Anyway, to me both are respectable in their own way. I guess you can become a grandmaster in both without having a very high iq but you will have to compensate by working harder than the rest because your progress will be slower.
