Someone invited me to write on Webnovel through wattpad and I don't know if I should say yes or not. I feel as though i'm undeserving of it.
One of the ways to find out if you should accept the contract is to first post part of your story on Webnovel. If you see many people adding it to their library and you were able to get at least 50,000-100,000 views in your first month on Webnovel that could be a sign your book will do well. There have been authors who sign the contract without first testing the waters and were only making $1 per month and not many people were reading or adding their book. Remember that Webnovel only pays if you the author reach $200 royalty after the 50% split (you must make $400 before the 50% royalty split)
Will it be alright if I'll just post my work on Webnovel to reach readers but will never accept their contract? Please help 😅

@@jodelostrico5621 If you don't feel comfortable you can always delete your book from Webnovel but because of their piracy problem your deleted book may show on the pirate sites.

The video exclusive vs non-exclusive contract explains in details whether you can post to other platforms. Exclusive contract may only post on Webnovel while Non-Exclusive may post on other platforms. It depends on the type of contract you choose to sign with Webnovel.

What happened now?
I got approached last year and have also debated on this as I was given a set of instructions to follow before a contract is presented but I was explained the outline of each. The only thing that gets me wary is the fact that the editor hadn't even read the work itself. I feel approached based on views that had been accumulated over the time that the work was completed (Done in 2014 and left to be seen till now). I wouldn't want to sign my rights away then slave to get the books promotional materials done etc. And there are so many uncomfortable points in this video alone. Are most contracts like this for writers? Also, has anyone signed on successfully and is somewhat satisfied?
Im a contracted author on Webnovel, the one they sent on Wattpad is a mass invitation.

@@-val69 Well, as far as I know, one of my friends received one too.. But then as she looked for further details, she noticed that she got scammed.
I was warned to not accept it, but it's good to be sure..
I wanted to... But I also want my own safety.. That's why I didn't accept it.. But to be honest, I only write fan fics for fun! I don't really intend to be a writer or get paid by writing, it's just going to be a pain 😅
But I was happy to receive one, because it meant that my works are nice! It may be sad to turn them down, but I know I'll get a real one in the future (I hope)

@@maramshams673 I still am. I don't know what happen now. They don't update me nor message me because I don't update for weeks now. I choose Non-exclusive contract. Because I got scared that they may take away my story. I mean I read a lot of reviews that If you did not update, webnovel will take your story as their own. Or if you have conflict with them and choose not to continue. I don't know though. Not really sure. But now, I didn't know if I got reads or what... I don't know what you wanted to know 😅
Royalty in fact, is better than non-exclusive.

Hey, I got recruited for webnovel. I watched the vid and read some of the comments and your replies. I'm wondering if they could do a compromise. I can't publish everyday due to high school and my college class, but I can write the amount of daily words for a week. Like I instead write 10,500 words for a week instead of 1,500 words daily. Do you think that they'll accept? I haven't even contacted the person who messaged me, I'm just doing research to see if I like it or not.
Webnovel is strict on writing 1,500 words per chapter daily not following the requirement will result in forfeiting MGS payment.

There may be a 24-48 hours time limit to make a decision but you may ask your content editor to extend the time for you

You can't draw comics on Webnovel but you can do so at Tapas and Webtoon
