      Its possibly a poor setup. Its a solid state that preamp and a tube power amp. Phenomenal that they figured out, and are selling a way to load the power amp stage and not the preamp (while keeping volume down too).
      So for this, if you crank the master volume and individual channels are near zero its good!

      @martijn_yt Před rokem +1

      The main goal of the AC15VR amp was to create a lighter, more dependable and more affordable version of the AC15. For this reason, the AC15VR has a solid state power amp, which is much lighter, more dependable and less expensive than a tube power amp. In addition, a 12AX7 preamp tube was used in between the solid state pre and power amp to simulate the tonal distortion of a tube power amp. This is referred to by Vox as the 'valve reactor' approach (hence the 'VR' in the name ;).

    Thanks for this. Very useful. VR is good, but for anyone wanting to replicate those early Beatlesque tones, the C1 stands out. Whether it's just the different Celestion speaker or everything including hybrid stage in the VR IDK, but much as prefer the favourable weight and price of the VR, I'll be buying a C1 when the time comes.

    Great comparison - I am very impressed with the new Vox AC15VR and the AC30VR - no typical white or pink noise for either . I will say that there is just a minute bit of more richness in the tube version but the difference is very minimal. Good Work Vox!

    The AC15C1 is a clear winner here, but the VR wasn't too far behind it. Be interesting to know the weight difference. The C1 weighs about 48 lbs, maybe the VR would be an attractive option for people who would struggle with the C1 weight but want that unbeatable Vox sound.

    • @bundr

    The VR has more of the later Beatles sound to me. I’m talking about the era when they were using the solid-state Voxes to record revolver, and Sergeant Pepper. It’s a more compressed sound but I really dig it. I have the Dr. Robert pedal and it reminds me of that tone. Both sound great.

    Can't beat a full Vox valve sound (pre-amp and output tubes) and playing response. The thing is the C1 is significantly heavier than the VR so if you are lugging stuff around all the time or for practice it makes sense.

    O ac15vr é realmente uma boa opção? a diferença de volume pro C1 é muito grande?

    • @bundr
      @bundr  Před 6 lety +3

      Oi Michelle! O VR imita o CC1 bem em todos os aspectos, até mesmo com relação ao volume geral e ao headroom! Então o volume é equivalente sim, e é suficiente pra shows pequenos e médios (especialmente se vc não se importa em ter um som 100% limpo, pq ele começa a crunchar cedo). Já com relação ao Blues Jr, sua escolha vai ter que ser mais pautada com relação ao estilo dos amplis! Eu tenho o Blues Jr tb e posso te dizer que o AC15 é um ampli com personalidade mais forte (puxa mais pro agudo e médio, e não tem regulagem de médios, seja na versão CC1 ou VR). Já o Blues Jr é mais versátil, e tem um reverb bem melhor. O VR tem uma vantagem com relação ao CC1 que é ter dois tipos de distorção diferentes, uma mais overdrive e outra com mais ganho, o que torna ele ideal pra tocar de tudo na notie (mas não vem com footswitch tem que comprar separado!). De qualquer forma com qualquer um desses vc não vai errar, são todos amplis muito bons e que vão te atender em shows pequenos e médios! Abs!!

      @MichelleMarques Před 6 lety

      valoto nossa, me ajudou muito. Eu testei o VR e achei o som dele encorpado na minha semi acústica, tô com medo do blues Jr ser muito agudo porque não testei só vi reviews. Mas os guitarristas num geral são bem puristas em relação a ampli valvulado e eu só quero praticidade no momento. O blues Jr ia me custar um pouco mais e eu nem testei. Mas seus dados sobre os amps me ajudaram muito, é um investimento grande e eu tô querendo ter cuidado pra escolher. Obrigada.

    • @bundr
      @bundr  Před 6 lety +1

      Giuliam Uchima Fala Giuliam! O VR é uma boa cópia do C1, inclusive no que diz respeito ao volume total e ao headroom. Eles são bem comparáveis nesse sentido, não tem muita diferença! Só não espere som 100% limpo de nenhum dos dois em volumes altos, eles não tem muito headroom e saturam relativamente cedo. Na minha opinião dá tranquilamente pra fazer shows e ensaios pequenos com o VR. A saturação não é o suficiente pra deixar o seu som sujo de verdade (adiciona só um pouquinho mais de agressividade no som limpo). Dependendo do estilo que vc vai tocar, é até algo desejável.

    • @chuckii3
      @chuckii3 Před 6 lety +1

      Dá tranquilo. Nunca tive problemas com o volume, ele dá e sobra. Às vezes fico até contrariado por causa de não poder deixar tão alto em certos pubs, pois soa melhor em volume mais alto. Só preciso microfonar quando o espaço é aberto ou muito grande, mas aí tem que microfonar mesmo, independente da potência do amp. Ele fala bem alto.
