    @ 1:13 Once we go flat out through that section, when we catch it right, and were on the limit all the way through, it's one of the most satisfying sections of turns that I've experienced so far. Summit Point Sector 3 gives me the same sensation. LOVE IT!! Seriously Im addicted to thatfeeling now.. If my PC didn't run iRacing. It would be a 2000$ Paper Weight. I literally use it for NOTHING else.

    Today my first 3h in iRacing with a lot of sightseeing in the grass and walls. Best was a 1:40.1, with Optimum at 1:39.3. I think with your tips I can get the Optimum to 1:38 or maybe 1:37 high. Then I "only" need to get consistent. :D

    "How am I getting on on the comments"
    Well I just ran my first ever race, ended up DQ with a lap to go ona lot of stupid stuff but didn't have many scratches. Hence looking at a track guide.
    Turns our sim racing is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Several weeks of casual practice since picking it up and I'm still garbage 😂
    After watching, parts of my line are good, parts bad. Same with the pedals. And of course I'm still figuring out how to enter a corner confidently.
    Tomorrow I'll review this and do a race -before- going out for a few beers.

      There’s a ghost car you can download - head over to findingspeed.com/trackguides (you’ll find it further down the page). Does that answer your question? Thanks for watching 🏁

    Hi! Thank you very much for the guide, it is very useful! Could you please tell how to make an appearance of throttle/braking/clutch and speed/gear like yours? I’m new to iRacing and you version looks much better then the stock one.

    Does the autoblip setting not do the blip when shifting down to 1st reliably? I find the car getting upset with me when shifting down to 1st when turning gently/braking. Can I manually blip even with autoblip turned on?

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  Před rokem

      I would recommend turning autoblip off and manually blipping the throttle as you shift down to 2nd and 1st (especially first). You don’t need it for the other gears. Autoblip isn’t powerful enough to overcome the issue.

      Hi, happy to help! The track changes every Tuesday (midnight GMT). We’re currently in week 8 of the 12 week season. On the members site you can download the schedule for the entire season for every series in iRacing. You can also see future weeks in the schedule in the UI under the ‘schedule’ tab 🏁

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  Před rokem

      Cool! Yes, you can join a race every hour between now and midnight on Monday night (GMT). Make sure you can go full race distance comfortably in practice around other cars - I believe the race is 13-ish laps.

    Looks like I wont even be able to get it under a 1:45 at this track. Not sure what I am doing wrong but you guys seem to be able to floor the car in spots where if I do the same the car immediately comes around on me.

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  Před 11 měsíci

      Can’t really comment without seeing you drive, but it sounds like you’re over-working the steering wheel and throwing the car off Balance. This car rocks like a boat - you only need to move the wheel a little while braking or lifting off the gas to point it in. Notice how I don’t really increase steering angle until I’m at the apex, when the car is gripped up.

      @@FindingSpeed Starting to think it may have something to do with my 58 year old eyes and reflexes at this point. Not a fan of my G923 brake pedal either. There is a pretty significant dead zone at the top of this brake pedal and no load cell. I have the feeling I think I am trail braking when in reality I don't have any brake applied at all. A decent pedal set is affordable for me maybe I will grab a set. Use to belong to a league back in my NR2003 days and enjoyed it. Perhaps it's time for me to find and old farts league. I am sure Iracing has one

  • @edfell66

    I'm starting on iRacing this week and I was wondering how people were able to make times like 01:37. The best I got was something around 01:40. I'm finding the Mazda really trick to race, any wrong move and it will slip away. I'm more used to ACC cars. Nice video by the way

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  Před rokem +2

      Thanks for watching. You’ll find iRacing’s GT3 cars more like ACC, but much less forgiving, which is why the Mazda is so important to master. Imagine it’s your road car you’re racing. Loads of body roll, and weaker brakes. You need to steer less with your hands and more by shifting weight with your feet. Watch my inputs - I’m using a tiny bit of initial steering, then the brake release to turn the car (only really steering hard mid corner). Good luck with your iRacing career - it’s worth it!

    • @edfell66
      @edfell66 Před rokem

      @@FindingSpeed I break with the right foot, I don't know if that is a problem for the maxda. To change the balance to the front in a curve I'm used the release the throttle a little bit, but also don't know if it makes me slower than if I use the left foot to give a little tap on the break

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  Před rokem

      It’s not a problem at all to brake with your right foot, especially if the car has a sequential gearbox. If you want to move up to GT cars it would be worth learning left-foot breaking, though.
