@theunrepentantone Thank you for this work Death to Compromise. Unrepentant one, definitely St. John can be categorized as True Orthodox, but if we make Elder Joseph that, we will be ridiculed as ignorant people who control the facts.

At about 3.34 Seraphim Rose failed to realise that Iakovos was most unlikely to join the OCA because he was only really interested in being in a Synod of his fellow New Calendarist Greeks.
In Letter 02, 1963, at roughly 2:30, Rose avoids the obvious trap of failing to recognise what we all as, in his own words, "true Orthodox Christians know that the age of persecutions, which began again under the Bolsheviks, is still with us, and that only by much sorrow and tribulation are we made fit to enter the Kingdom of Heaven." only to fall into the far more common trap of reactionary pharisaism. All these demonstrations he criticises were a good thing, as was participation in them, provided that the continued persecution of true Orthodox Christians was also condemned in these demonstrations. The fact that this was not the case, with the New Calendarist Greek "Archbishop" of North and South America walking arm-in-arm with the heterodox leader Martin Luther King in the March on Selma but continuing to fail to condemn the persecution and murder of true Orthodox Christians in Greece by the New Calendarist Government there, aided and abetted by the New Calendarist State "Church", should have been and should be condemned by all those who call themselves "true Orthodox Christians". Real True Orthodox Christians should actually be creatures of the radical political centre, drawing on both left and right as well as the centre, but not being dominated by either left or right wing ideas. In my experience, sadly, very few of us actually are creatures of the "radical political centre".

He was. ROCOR anathematized Ecumenism in 1983, one year after the repose of Fr. Seraphim. When the larger portion (not all) of ROCOR confirmed it wanted to join the Moscow Patriarchate in the 2000s, the GOC-K broke communion (in 2005, I believe) and some bishops in ROCOR left the larger part which joined Moscow.
@Death2Compromise I think we should stop saying "GOC-K" because GOC-K is THE "GOC" and the others have tried to usurp the name. I was told that by a bishop, but its so true.

I know there are world Orthodox in Finland, but as I understand they are strongly modernist and ecumenist. Actually, well known for being some of the worst, again, as I understand.
The term True Orthodox is used to differentiate (as the name implies) the churches that are truly Orthodox from those that are in heresy. In our modern context, what can be seen is a liberal, ecumenist "Orthodox" church and another historically Orthodox body that does not go along with that. The latter calling themselves True Orthodox. This is a very rudimentary explanation, so I recommend you do more research to truly understand the depths of the issue.
Basically, all "True Orthodox" and "Genuine Orthodox" churches are schisms from the Eastern Orthodox church. But they will obviously beg to differ, sadly.
