The song is called Back Together Again, and there is a bootleg copy of it on the Internet with Peter and Bunny singing the song. You must also know as you asked if I know the musical history that the I Threes

I saw the movie yesterday. My interpretation is this. The movie is called Bob Marley “One Love” not Bob Marley: “His Life”. I feel like this was a movie based on the accounts of Ziggy, Stephen, Cedella and Sharon as it pertains to their mother’s life with Bob. Mentioning the other women may have been too hard for them and disrespectful to their mother Rita. That’s why it’s called “One Love”. They’re showing the love their parents had for each other. If anyone wants to know more about Bob Marley they should just check out the movie Marley or the many documentaries out about him. But I feel like this was for how they saw their mother Rita with their father.

THE NEXT DAY MY MASTER BOB FLEW TO DELAWARE TO VISIT HIS MOTHER CEDELLA.
AND BOB GAVE MANY INTERVIEWS WHERE HE SAID HE DENOUNCED WESTERN MARRIAGE.

BOB FOUND OUT SOME THINGS ABOUT RITA THAT WOULD MAKE YOU CRINGE.

@@dope03pope I understand. I thought this would be a movie from start to finish about the late great Bob Marley. But once I saw the movie, I said “oh, I get it”. This is why it was released on Valentines Day also. I think it was a sweet explanation, put on the big screen, to show the power of their parents love and all that their mother went through. Because she is so often overshadowed by his greatness and the affairs. Rita, actually was the glue that kept Bob together and contributed to his success. If it wasn’t for Rita pushing Bob to us in America, after he died, we wouldn’t have known him. Only a few people knew who he was or was even interested in what he stood for and his music.

I am puertorican and I am a long fan of Bob Marley. ♥️
The movie isn’t the life story of Bob Marley & Rita only. It’s meant to shine the love and passion Mr. Marley had for everyone. He wanted for everyone to love and care for each other.
If you know the “ true story “ as we know it, the biopic depicts exactly that. The years represented ( 2 years) in the movie are his most crucial years of when “ real hate “ for him started to unveil. He wants love & peace, cero hate & WARS!!! Unfortunately, no one listen to him, since that’s exactly how we live today!

I will say this I left that movie theatre in Brazil in tears since about the last 15 minutes of the film. I knew the characters, I knew the story. We knew the story since we were kids. I knew the characters and knew what to expect. We didn't come to watch it to be taught who he is, Rasta, Revolution etc.. We've seen all that already. We didn't come for a documentary we've seen thousands hince why we know the story so well. We came because of ZIGGY and RITA we came to see their side and I was not disappointed. Rita fingers is all on this this is HER story. If you want to be taught youtube Bob Marley, that is not this film. This Film is Rita Marley telling her Story about the man she loved. OMG, I’m so grateful my dad sent me your video. I went to see the Bob Marley movie, it was okay. After God, Bob Marley is my dad‘s greatest hero. growing up, my dad made sure I listened to Bob Marley, understood his lyrics, and became obsessed with him. However, they should’ve incorporated the following:
    his relationship with his father
    his relationship with his mother
    His love for music
    his concubines and their children
    The cheating on his wife
    Fight for love and unity
Lastly, one of the biggest downfall is that the movie was one-sided to favor Rita and her kids. I understand she was the wife, but come on they should’ve had all his children come together to make a fantastic contribution to their father

The Smile Jamaica Concert , Marley going into exile then lured back to Jamaica for the Peace Concert , Cold War politics being played in the streets of Jamaica . An undeclared civil war . Everything else is filler . The flashbacks etc . It’s a similar concept like One Night in Miami

Spike Lee was who they needed to direct that film. You see what Spike Lee did with MALCOM X Spike Lee is a more a detail director when it comes to getting all the info (history) in a short amount of time. Even in MO BETTER BLUES shows his talent and creative awareness. This has to do with his experience and talent as a top director. But with Spike Lee he would want to do that film with all the info which I think the Marley family wouldn't want in the movie. That is why they stay away from a big top director cause they wanted to control the narrative, stay away from certain subjects, like his womanizing, etc..so you get a smaller not so great a director who needs that kind of opportunity and you can control his directing on what to show and not show.

As a fan of bob marley I️ felt like the movie was actually disrespectful to the legend himself . The movie felt like it was half way written, not detailed and unfinished and rushed . It felt like they set up this to not really show the biography of Bob Marley . I️ wished they showed more scenes like how did the The Wailers get the title of their name , the behind the scenes of his top songs like three little birds or One love , him becoming a father , did he go to school ?,What happened to the guy who was stealing money ? Showed him finding out he had cancer? showing more clips of his childhood . I️ was even sad they didn’t even play my favorite songs like Could you be loved and played One love and is this love in the credit scene . The movie was mainly about the album Exodus . The positives of this movie I️ would say is the costumes are beautiful , the cinematography is beautiful , the actors were great . Other than that I️ also wish there was sub titles as of some scenes I️ drifted off bc I️ didnt understand what they were saying .you can tell this was filmed during the writers strike

I worked on a Biography film called "Rebel music" and we were nominated for a Grammy for it. I spent a very long time learning about Bob and his life. From my opinion it was a very compressed story with Bunny, Peter Tosh and many other people and moments left out. I agree, a longer series with more detail and more truths told and not left out BUT, many of the important sentiments were there, but briefly covered. I think anything that elevate the ONE LOVE concept Bob was trying to share with the world is important. Remember Rita and Ziggy were running the show. I remember when the Marley family was thinking about opening a burger chain using Bob's name, so this far better than that!

Ziggy Marley stated that the movie was centered around Bob's life during just the two years of 1976-1978, so for people who went in expecting to see more of his life events, you would not. As a Jamaican (born and raised), I was not disappointed with the movie and was able to identify scenes from the movie where they touched on his introduction to Rastafarianism, his relationship with Rita, his involvement with Cindy, his compassion for helping others, and the influence he had worldwide through his music. While obviously not an expert or even knowledgeable on how the movie business works in my opinion there is only so much that can be done for a movie and I believe the director and writers captured the essence of the message well.

He was like a god in places like West Africa where I first was really introduced to regggae music. I mean talk about a legend! Infact, his album which holds the same name still charts on Billboard until this day. I will not be seeing the film. I immediately went home and watched Time will tell and other documentaries to soothe my soul 😢 new fans or people who are not familiar with him like it because they can’t compare to anything else. So many things left out and didn’t build his essence ugh still frustrated and disappointed about this… I’m very comforted in a weird way to hear your rant and know I’m not alone - I felt so sad to know that many people will have no idea how amazing he was. This was nothing but a poor attempt by Ziggy to rewrite his father's legacy to suit his own narrative. In the Rasta culture the women have little or no say in the men's life, and therefore Rita had no say in Bob's love life with Cindy or with other women. Also all of Bob's children were an integral part of his life, but every scene with the kids he only showed five of the children. The three Bob had with Rita and her two outside the marriage. The interaction that Bob had with the henchmen and the involvement of the CIA with the leader of the opposition was glossed over and should have been a major theme of the movie.

I went to see the movie with my partner. When the movie was over, I was sitting kind of stuck. I said to my partner, I would like to have seen more about his journey through cancer. How did he maintain all of what he did while going through this struggle? Her reply was that since his kids did it maybe they wanted to save some dignity. Now, she is in the filmmaking world, so I left it alone. Then I stumbled onto your video, and what you said about the experience of a seasoned filmmaker and a great in-depth script, is when I said ah hah, these are the words I needed. Especially when I am a person who does study musicians, is a musician, and I have been a follower of Bob Marley for 30 years. The movie fell flat for me because I do know a lot about Bob Marley. It's interesting, that in every interview leading up to this film, that involved the leading actors, they both said, until I started doing this film, I knew nothing about Bob Marley. That tells you something within itself. I think that because the family is involved people will give it a pass, but I have seen a couple of great documentaries that can take one deeper than this film. I’m glad that didn’t spell out his whole life story, go watch a documentary if that’s what you want. Everyone knows that Bob give Rita bun and Rita give Bob bun she raised his outside children like her own and he adopted hers. I’m glad they didn’t reduce Bob Marley to baby mama drama. After a while Bob and Rita didn’t have a romantic relationship (which has been said multiple times in multiple documentaries) and it became more a companionship which I think the movie represents well. This movie was about the events that led up to and immediately after the Exodus album. The flashbacks that it again was just to put things into perspective. Many are upset that they didn’t use Jamaican actors but if you check it alot of the roles were played by the children of his band members who were there between 77-79. And I think the two leads knocked it out of the park with their Patois and accent, the dialect coach on set really applauded them on how hard they worked at getting it right. I think every scene in this movie was very deliberate and purposeful. The ending was a bit abrupt I will admit and there was one storyline that I thought was a missed opportunity but aside from that I loved the film.

the movie won't resonate with alot of western audiences because honestly it was made for jamaicans. I watched it today in Kingston jamaica and the audiences in the cinema were laughing, crying and gave it a standing ovation. We understood the movie wasn't about telling his whole life story. We knew it was to highlight the civil war in the 70s and and how it impacted bob. the movie was telling a story about a specific period in his life that led up to making the exodus album. You have no idea how impactful it was to see the Nyabinghi drums and the Iyaric language that the rasta's speak in full display. when they cut to the scene of young rita and bob and rita said they called her blackie tutus, I nearly cried cause I can relate. And most importantly this was the best interpretation of our accent. the mannerisms were so down to the bone. I got goospe bumps. I know it may seem like it's all about making him look overly good but in truth this is the typical behaviour of the jamaican rasta, they walk with a message of love and peace and that's the image we know of bob. Yes we know he had multiple baby mama's and was never faithful. but do we know who bob really was? In this movie we could see that bob was scared, he didn't want to come back to our island because of what happened to him. We saw that he was conflicted about being half white and not being accepted by his white family. its so much I can say but honestly if you're not jamaican grown and immersed in the culture it may not be for you. I was sitting there while watching and the first thing that came to my mind was that I don't think the global audience would understand the message. And based on the reviews I'm seeing I was right. But I am happy they chose to please the jamaican audience by telling this story the way we want it to be told. It's not supposed to be a history lesson. one thing to note is that Bob didn't cry. All is friends and family will tell you this. So to see them display his emotions while still trying to maintain his toughness was amazing.

I agree with this film critics review of this movie, i felt that the film makers left a lot of things out of the movie, it seemed like they didn’t take real time to do the movie properly, i think the should do a mini series to really capture the whole essence of Bob and his life!

Just listened another movie reviewer who thought he would hate it but ended up liking it. The bigger question is, is it me or are more people talking about Bob, his life, etc than any other film in recent times?

I gather the point is that the movie being out there garners a discussion and some focus on Bob, which, would be a good thing. That may be true, but, if there was a movie about pretty much anyone out there, it would garner attention and be, trending. Just wish this film were bigger and trending....for much more of the right reasons. But again, if the positive note is hey, there's a Bob Marley movie out and some folks like it, that's fine. They did a Whitney Houston movie which was absolutely terrible but hey......I guess it got folks talking about Whitney Houston for a bit. Thanks for watching/commenting.

I've been coming to Jamaica for over 50 years. I'm the youngest hippie to do so, I came 3 times when I was 17. I have lived here for over 10 years now. This I know about potois it can not be taught. Yes, you can learn the words and inflection, but the emotion and cadence can't be taught. You must be born into it. Not having a Jamaican play Bob Marley is like making rum punch without the rum. I've only made it 20 seconds into the trailers and had to turn it off. Bob's message and greatness can not be copied he means too much to me, and his music made me who i am today. I know I could never watch the movie. One love and bless up. Irie.

To capture Bob’s lifetime essence on film..it would need to be a Mini Series..
Because there is so much content.
The Actor Ben did a spectacular job. It’s not, and can’t be easy playing iconic larger than life, as deep as the ocean, yet simple humble and uncomplicated Bob Marley. Bob is an ‘Emotion’ and a complexity of feelings to most people.
I disagree with you. I could not wait to see this movie. And when it was ending, I already couldn’t wait to see it again. I was sitting in my seat tearing up, chanting and Saluting The King .
Ziggy, Rita, Bob Marley’s Family fingerprint is all over this project. Nicely done. Loved seeing Mutabaruka and Sevanna in the movie. I feel it was a nice and important touch for Muta to be represented in this movie.
To be frank.. I wanted to see much more of everything about him. But from a professional point of view, I know that it all can’t fit into one film.
I give thanks for the blessing of the offering of this movie.
    One ❤ Love

TELL HIS LIFE CORRECTLY or leave it alone. It’s disrespectful to halfway tell a story!! Rita’s heart oh no poor her all the crying but she accepted his lifestyle so tell the story correctly. She’s a soldier right?

Had they shown Bob Marley constantly smoking weed and sleeping with every Women in the movie along with some graphic violence and nudity then, some people would call it a hit .
Why shoot down his family for their views on a life we know nothing about.
    We never support.
We are addicted to the drama.

who were part of Bob’s journey they had to be left out for personal feelings rather than Bob’s story

@@ClaireisVeganplease go and see it for yourself. Jamaica was represented in the film but at the end of the day the movie was set in 1977-1979 when Jamaica was on the brink of Civil War. It’s apart of our history and im glad they chose to represent it. But there are also shots filmed across the island in places that Bob frequented. This movie isn’t his life story it just zeroes in on three years worth of events

Should've been about The Jacksons Entire Family. Secondly, should've been something GRANDIOSE. And not just a 3 hours movie but a 3 seasons Netflix or HBO serie.

I'm sceptical and I don't think if I will be able to seat through an Hollywood version of Bob Marley. I resent seeing anybody trying to be or portraying him. He was and will forever be reel. I don't think anyone could to capture who he was and translate all the emotions he brought to us. I still remember the first time I heard Bob Marley. I Cherish the moments. It was an out this world experience. Only thing I want to see about Bob Marley is documentaries..

Jamaican here and I saw the movie as well. While I did enjoy the movie, I must say I appreciate your perspective. I had no issue with Kingsley Ben Adir or Lashauna Lynch playing Bob and Rita respectively. The accents were not an issue for me, as I realized the intent is not just to reach Jamaicans, but the large audience of Bob Marley fans internationally. I will take a second look and I might then be able to put my emotions aside and see some of the shortcomings you saw.
