Old Nissan > New Nissan. The SR20 is such an awesome engine. So mod-able and reliable... Love the car.
Having owned them for years. Not sure "reliable" is the best word. They can be. But by god do you have to put the effort in.
Good for really old engine technology though

Nice Dime Wes. I have James Boswell Coachwerks rack & pinion in my SR swapped 510 and it's night and day. The cross member is set up for front oil pan and they've modified the geometry with raised pickup points and shortened steering knuckles giving it zero bump steer even at 3.5" lower and only 2 degree caster. Much lighter wheel.

Very cool car. But I've been into Nissan's and Datsuns for forever. I'm not convinced this chap actually knows much about his car :/ certainly he doesn't know what his engine is. It's definitely not an s14 😂

Never heard it called a notch top. Is that an American thing? We call them straight cam (early engines) or bent cam (this one).
It's a bent cam sr20 obviously. It could be out of a s14 or 15 (I don't think the rwd bent cam came in other chassis from nissan). Random note. I had one in my old r33 before I scrapped it. Handled really well compared to the RB. Anyway...
Saying the car has an s14 is just silly. That's like saying your civic is prelude swapped. You'd never say that. You'd say it has a h22 swap.
Who knows. Maybe he paid someone to do the work and doesn't really know what he owns. Maybe he was nervous on camera. Maybe he was drunk

GMG as a big fan/supporter of Hoonigan, I say try doing more of your own thing instead of trying to copy them. You guys can do just as well bc you guys are a bigger shop meaning you can build more stuff for more content but just stay in your element. Do what you guys are good at, don’t reach out to far bc you’ll just look dumb. Old school Japanese is very doable for you guys, like this 510 is a prime example of a proper built vintage JDM car as was your Z build. I was a big GMG fan as well but I just don’t watch a lot of tv anymore
