    This has helped me a great deal. I'm about to have all my hair buzzed from the chemo and I started with the wrapping last week since the patchy spots were finally noticeable to everyone else and not just me. I wasn't sure what to do about the shape with the fact that I'll have no hair. This helps a lot!

      I have a heart shaped face with what my mom uses to call apple cheeks but I’m also plus sized so I do have some fullness around my jaw. As for what I like I don’t know I’m just starting I’ve only wrapped a couple of times with just a scarf and it kept slipping off so I wanted to get the full wrapunzel set but I just couldn’t figure out what size volumizer would suit me. And if it matters I have super short hair so I can’t add any volume myself.

    great you 2!!! now how do I prevent the velvet headband or the volumizer from slowly "crawling" upwards from my neck to the middle of my back head?

    • @WrapunzelOfficial
      @WrapunzelOfficial  Před 8 lety +2

      Hm... Sometimes, No-Slip Headbands can start to slip when they need to be washed, as the natural oils from your skin and hair can build up on them, affecting the headband's gripping power. You might try washing it (in a delicates bag - to prevent snagging!), which could help. Also, No-Slip Headbands typically stretch out over time, so it might just be time for either a new one or smaller size. If none of those things are an issue, you might try positioning the band slightly differently. If you typically wear it behind the ears, try wearing it over them, or vice versa.
      Hope that helps, Sonja!

    • @WrapunzelOfficial
      @WrapunzelOfficial  Před 7 lety

      Hi, Julia! We recommend using the 2 velcro ends of the headband or shaper (this would not work on the Wendy since there is no velcro) to gather up the hair by your neck before fastening the headband or shaper closed. Does that make sense? (Also, check out Andrea explaining this technique for gathering up your hair here: czcams.com/video/SlnOfvhfgk4/video.html!)

      I bought a pair of dollar store nylons in the smallest size, and I cut the top part off. Then, I just fiddles around with knotting it to tighten it, and if I know I'm going to be wearing a heavy wrap I'll reinforce the base layers with pins... A not more work, but still.

      Women of various religions (Christian, Muslim, Jewish, etc.) sometimes choose to cover their heads; other women choose to cover due to medical hair-loss (chemo, autoimmune alopecia, hormonal alopecia), some choose to wrap for cultural reasons (such as women with African heritage); some women wrap to protect their hair (women with very curly or kinky hair often find that their hair is very brittle and a wrap protects it), and some choose to wrap for personal reasons, such as reclaiming a sense of owning their own body, lessening the symptoms of anxiety, or helping with headaches, and others wrap simply because they enjoy it and it feels beautiful and feminine to them. Every woman wraps for her own reasons. :)

    So for othodox women its not only required to cover hair but to cover scalp, when you have chemo, e.g. I can justify wearing a wrap because it can be beautiful. As for modesty before god, it's quite hypocritical to pretend you are observant and not vain.

    • @elishevanesher8580
      @elishevanesher8580 Před 4 lety +3

      Pushkin waring a headwrap, by Jewish tradition is not about avoiding being vain. It is for the married women to reserve showing their hair, which was traditionally thought to be a woman's greatest beauty for the intimate sphere and husband only. we may not think as hair the same way today, but that was the origin of the tradition.
