Think I would disagree the palm support in most brass/plastic knuckles is meant to redistribute force and help support bones in the hands. That said my state of Michigan needs to revise the laws, even plastic knuckles are illegal.

Yes, they're illegal because the idiot police think they're the Only ones who're allowed to be Violent.

Well handled. I had a similar situation two days ago. The idiot that walked up on me was acting the same way. I told you once before that I carry a combat cane in my vehicle made of hickory from Canemaster. He backed down and walked away. I highly recommend carrying a tactical cane in your car. It is completely legal anywhere because it is considered a medical device. Your friends are lucky to have you as the sheepdog.

The hardest part about a situation like this is not getting the chance to get even. He had all the fun in the world, calling you names and trying to intimidate you, but you stood your ground. Anyone with half a brain knows you would have handled him with not much effort at all. You're an avid trainer and he was two burritos away from busting his belt buckle. Sometimes the most difficult thing in the world is not getting to swing at someone who really deserves it. Especially when you know you can win. Taking the high road is frustrating, but i applaud your actions. ✊ Stay lethal brother.

Thanks brother! And well said 💯💯Sometimes knowing that you train and knowing that you’re lethal helps to keep you calm. The loudest man in the room is not the most dangerous man. I could’ve merked him fast. His balance and equilibrium was ranked. He was just loud and hold. When I stared into his eyes he looked scattered.

The problem with conservatives "taking the high road" is that it encourages these scumbags, who will believe they "got away with" their bad behavior and go on to take their frustrations out on weaker, less able victims. "Taking the high road" is sometimes wise, but often stupid and irresponsible.

New to your channel, your video came up on my feed. I’m grateful. All these tips are great to remember. I was in healthcare 15 years night shift worked emergency room, ICU, CCU,Telemetry and in trauma centers... and one thing people need to learn the most is situational awareness. What I saw coming into my units...my goodness. 😢 Sad what humans do to each other. I had to get out, couldn’t do it anymore. It caused me harm working it and seeing it every day...body parts, blood, bowels, and brain tissue...gave me PTSD. Knowing your surroundings being actively aware what’s going on around you is the most important thing when you go out in public, especially with the lunatics out in the world today.

I am a big fan of knives. I think they are great tools for many situations. Amazon boxes and packages might be the most frequent use but camping is better.
I'm a passifist by choice and was bullied as a kid so i had many fights as a kid. Only lost a few of them and I stopped fist fights when i was 14. I still believe in fighting back but believe in the mental before physical. I have friends that CC and believe in 2A but choose not to carry. I've asked them what do you do if you run out of ammo or get jammed up. One of them has been taking MMA and martial arts classes for a few years. Very happy for him.
Situational awareness, staying calm and being able to think your way through tough situations is best and doesn't always require a physical response.
I live in a nice but diverse area in VA and know not everyone is well intentioned but i never assume the best about strangers or situations.
Thanks for the story and the perspectives.

Interesting story and I’m glad you were able to deal with it effectively, well done. The question that comes to mind for me is that when you are armed with a firearm, doesn’t that make you extremely hesitant to deal with a threat like that with any kind of hand to hand combat? After all, that would open you up to possibly having your gun taken away from you.

I'm a little paranoid about putting my fingers into any kind of ring or hole. Besides not being trained on karambit, they make me nervous because most are made to be used with a finger in a hole. I'm guessing that I will never consider knuckles for anything other than a fidget gadget to be kept at home.
Assuming I wanted to get these, the sizing issue would worry me. I took a year or so of Krav Maga. For that, I had to get MMA gloves, and the instructor found that XXL was the best size for me. I have a pair of winter gloves in XL. Generally, I get work gloves in L, but the fingers are too big for me. If I wanted the fingers to fit, I'd get work gloves in a M, but sometimes I can't get my hand in a M glove. I bought glove liners last year. I forget whether I got M or S, but that size worked well because they stretch around my hands. I have no idea what that would mean in this model of plastic knuckles.

I use them at close range striking in shorter, tighter swings using more of a hook to the temple or jaw. Or a diagonal uppercut to the chin and right below the nose. I turn my fist into a hammer by knocking the brass knuckles into my target sideways and putting my hip and upper body behind it.

I have a pare of brass nuckles that that I pulled off the hand of a guy who tried to punch me at a party a year after I graduated highschool CO 2000. I got my first job bouncing in bars my 11 grade year in high school. I was recruited by a cook who watched me brake up a fight in another bar that I dishwashed at in 98. I always gravitated to violence. I never hurt anyone more than I needed to be safe from an attack. When I see a person with brass nuckles. I don’t discount their ability to get violent but I do see them as someone with minimal experience engaging in violence. As I do with a person who carries a butterfly knife. Good review though.

Which piles on a giant civil suit for damages potentially in the millions . A jury of “ normal “ citizens, will be abhorred by an individual using brass knuckles. And award injured party justice and in civil suit - millions . Having said the above . I must say your channel is very spot on . Very very detailed info on what you cover 👍🏼. Also you’re so knowledgeable, that you often mention facts and nuances , that not many people would know about . 😊. Ps some states stack on charges , when you’re involved in a crime ….and you have a weapon on you . Weather you use it or not , take it out or not . Many States are very ontop of stuff . 😮

I will state again , you’re very very knowledgeable in aspects NOBODY knows / would mention 👍🏼. I know lol. Here’s couple of tidbits of interesting nature . Maybe do a segment on the co2 bean bag Billy clubs - shoots bean bag ( like I’m explaining to u what they are ! Lmfao ) . I have a few co Billie’s , they way back and oddly enough they are more legal in most states . The other is how bout a segment on “ come alongs” .. only cause the various designs and mechanisms are so cool over lots of historical years . Twisty wrists grabbers used a lot in 1800s early 1900s by law folks . You know all about them I’m sure . Not a weapon , but close . Maybe Sap gloves , don’t know if you did that , cause I’m new . I’ve had sap gloves beautiful black supple deerskin , for most of my life .teens to 60 ! I’ve never ever ever had anyone notice them. Now that a self defense weapon personified 👍🏼. The black sap baseball hat 🧢 Shomer T. Omg so cool .same never ever ever had someone notice my baseball hat was a very dangerous weapon . The stealth 🥷 hat and such just amped up the overall effectiveness 500 % lol thanks I will check out your other videos and bust your chops if I see something …ha

can you hide or keep brass knuckles discrete if you were them under your winter gloves and will it still be effective

    • @411Outdoors
      @411Outdoors  Před 5 měsíci +1

Gloves would definitely make them more discreet. I always tell people to make sure you have a really good case if you have to use them though. I would never use in a typical argumentative street light. Only if you needed an equalizer against an assailant who was trying to take you out.

I am looking into this product because I'm taking my son to a concert in the summer and I know security will be heavy with metal detectors etc. I normally ccw a Pew Pew and knife every day so going to an event like this where I have zero additional tools makes me a little nervous. Thinking I could squirrel this away on me somewhere and sneak it in so I at least have a little advantage in a self defense situation.

my martial arts teacher encountered a man smoking @ the gas pump. My teacher was pumping gas and had his kids in the car. He determined the cigarette was a danger during pumping gas. He asked the fool to put the cigarette out. The smoker refused and approached Cory. When he got within striking distance, Cory smacked his ear with a cupped hand. The pressure wave into the man's ear dropped him. It was quick and effective.

If you couldn't afford or get one of these you could make a piece of homemade Micarta using layers of an old pair of Levi's and wood glue. Let it dry for two days then clamp it down and drill the holes with a spade bit. Then cut it to shape with a jig saw with a metal cutting blade, and sand. Could be cut out with points on it.

Interesting legal note: In Alaska, plastic knuckles fit the legal definition for "metal knuckles," which are prohibited. It's not logical, and Alaska is generally quite permissive. But it illustrates just how confusing these laws can be.

A plastic knuckle duster is ok. But I've switched to a tactical whip. Those things hurt like crazy, strike at a distance, and leave your hands free to grasp and palm strike. Tactical whips are good for a knife encounter, you hit at a distance where they can't effectively use a knife or fists when you are farther away. and a whip is fast. You get in multiple hits in seconds.

Adults going out door to door looking for treats and snooping around the same time, you wonder if they will hit on houses that has something they want. Anyone including children should not cover their face with a mask or a diaper. A knuckle sandwich might cure the sick for a little while.❤ it’s only the healthy that can hold back darkness.

I bought recently a pair of plastic Knuckles I live in a really rough City in Ontario. If there's anyone from Ontario in this list you'll know how bad Hamilton is. My plastic Knuckles have the triangle pointed tips on each knuckle, is there a difference in between the normal Knuckles that you have shown in this video compared to the knuckles with the triangle points is there a difference in the law compared for each different variation of plastic knuckles?
I use them for my job and a palm fist hand for my right when's striking, my dominant hand is my right.
Would anyone be able to help me out with the difference is in between the two pair of plastic knuckles I would be greatly appreciative
