I saw one of those Toyota "Hummers" back in '96 when I was in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Fuji, Japan. The Japanese Self Defense Force came out to our base to show us some of their toys.
I checked out this thing online and its over $300 bucks for tickets. Sheeesh.
Overland West is my favorite event to film because I get to go camping at the expo!!! I wish I could camp at SHOT show lol.

Jason Koertge it stands for the shooting hunting and outdoor trade show. Its held in Las Vegas every January. It's the biggest firearms related trade show in America. It's epic!

We here 2nd breakfast since we started homeschooling than we ever did before we started homeschooling. I literally laughed out loud as my wife looked at my strangely. I had to explain and she also LOL. Another great video.
You would definitely regret trading you 4Runner for a Tacoma. I previously had an FJ. I regret letting it go. I had a 2016 Tacoma. Loved it. Until I had to get me, the wife and two kids in it. It was just too cramped on the inside. So, I sold it and got a 2017 4Runner, since they aren't making the FJ any longer. I don't like buying used cars otherwise, I would have bought another FJ. Love the 4Runner.

Jason Koertge oh man the fam really loves the Turtleback... Everywhere we go people take pictures of it and wanna know everything about it. Haven't gone anywhere far yet but we have taken it to Jemez Springs and Pecos Mora campground... I was having so much fun I forgot to take out my cameras and record lol
Very enjoyable, as always! If you are in Utah next year, consider coming up to the Northwest Overland Rally, typically mid June in Plains, WA (just outside Leavenworth). It's a mini-version of Expo West-very personal & enjoyable. I hope you make it as I would love to meet you and than you in person for your entertaining videos. Your editing really does set you apart. I love watching them with my family!
At 8:46 -- what was it about the Tacoma that had you considering selling the 4runner? What had they done to the truck?
That's the Expedition Overland guys. Just google them - Pretty sure they have a good breakdown on that truck. That habitat - they have it all decked out. It basically flips over the back of the truck and there is a queen size bed plus standing room in the back of the truck bed. I just picture a kitchen/fridge/drawer slide on one side of the bed - it would be a sweet 1-2 person setup!

Damian Morgan thanks man! I know. I actually made it a point years ago whenever I went to conferences to either know exactly what I want or take good notes on what I found that I bought I needed! But never buy! That practice will save you thousands my friend! Haha

Great video! Keep up the great editing man. I think the quick pans and quick captions are a good way to go with this. Keeps the video a good length and most people can still read quick enough to get the gist of what was said if they can't read the whole thing that fast. Here's to watching this channel really grow in subscribers and to more adventures!
Thanks Robert! That's just it. If I were to slow it all down, the video would be longer and the flow would be all off. It would turn from exciting to boring. I always find myself pausing and rewinding Casey Neistat's videos. But if he were to let it sit for 5 minutes so everyone could read whatever he's got on there that isn't really that important anyway, the whole vibe would be out the window!

Question: Why do you always pan so fast why do you put up your CAPTIONS DURING THE VIDEO FOR JUST A SPLIT SECOND??? It's a little annoying having to pause the tape and go back just to try and read what you put up. It's also a little annoying pausing while you're panning just to see what you're trying to show us. I agree on the captions as I have had to move the video back to catch the captions many, many times.
Its not panning its called a transition and his are pretty cool a lot better than just cutting from scene to another
Don't know what you use to edit, but if it's Premiere, once you're done with an edit, export the dialog, bring it into Audition, normalize it, remove the noise, then bring it back into Premiere and balance that with your music. Right now, the music is almost maxed and the dialog is much lower which means your viewers (like me) have to constantly adjust the audio level when the music comes in like a bomb. Hope this helps. Nice editing otherwise.
Feint thanks! I use final cut. The audio music actually isn't maxed. It's down -4 points. And a lot of the dialogue was brought up. I'll be honest, I spent a little time normalizing it but not enough! I'm still figuring it out.

Overlanding USA it's all good! Still trying to find a good all-around workflow to make sure the entire process is high quality. Actually, after this trip, I STOPPED putting the mic on manual and just put it back to auto. I know that's not what the pros do, but I seriously don't have time to be checking the footage for good audio, then reshooting if it's not right. Haha.
No worries. I still enjoy the series. I shoot and edit for a living so I hear ya when it comes to trying to get the best process down. There's always a balance between effort and time.
Feint I appreciate it! Sometimes I don't notice it until I show the kids on the tv. Haha. By that time it's too late! I've gotten better - but I'll keep working on it! A year from now, it'll probably all be perfect! Haha. It's all about muscle memory. Getting to a point where it's all instinct.
I gave the video a thumbs down because of the title. I watched within the first few minutes it was online. Not sure if you had click bait on it originally. I was excited for you and was let down after watching. It is possible your title was cut short on the platform I use to watch CZcams (Fioptics) and I missed it.
