I had a friend who was a die hard EWU fan, he drafted Kupp 3rd overall in his rookie season in our fantasy football league. We all thought he was trolling.
Yep, every year there's that one rookie or a few rookies that go off, it's a high risk high reward drafting rookies in fantasy football, I accidentally drafted Najee Harris his rookie year (my phone screen was cracked and glitching), BEST mistake ever as he would go on to be the player who won me the championship
I mean this guy relearned how to run after his torn acl to be more efficient and got measurably faster. The amount of detail and dedication that this man puts together is astonishing.
I'm a Seahawks fan and hated watching him destroy us, but also at the same time admired and respected the hell out of him and his play. Such a phenomenal player, his intense work ethic is my favorite thing about him allowing him to unlock levels of play that gets any fan excited to watch him. He reminds me of another fantastic player, one of my all time favorite players Jordy Nelson. Jordy had a more visible college career and was noticed more but he also had that same intense work ethic that Cooper does, he has to now lol taking care of that farm and raising his livestock out there in Kansas. Just great to see Cooper put everything he worked for out on that field every Sunday, wish him and his wife nothing but the best.
Kupp is still him, this year in 8 games healthy, he had 813 yards (101.625 ypg) 6 TDs (.75 TDs pg) and 72 receptions (9 rec pg) which comes out to a season total 1728 yds 13 TDS 153 Receptions
Good things do happen to good people…congrats to him and his wife…the dedication they both displayed is amazing…I’m a Bears fan but good luck in the upcoming season Coop
I am from WA and know the Kupp family. I was told that one of Cooper's best, amazing assests is this: He has a very rare, uncanny sense of spatial awareness. Through vision and feel, he can sense who is around him. This is one of several reasons Cooper is almost always open on the play....no NFL receiver has greater separation than him....
Kupp, Welker, Edelman, these are the toughest receivers to cover because they are so quick and they have great moves. They are a nightmare for defenses.
As a niners fan he absolutely carried the rams that season especially playoffs we had great coverage on him for both TDs he scored in the nfc ship hes a freak
Still is, my friend who had him last year said he would still draft him with his top pick despite his injury as the Rams offense is centered around him, and yes I asked him about Davante Adams
Coop helped me win my Fantasy League. I will always be loyal to him, lol He got hurt by a cheap shot last season. But, he will be back. He is a great player.
I got to see him in person while at college (destroying my school), you could tell he was special. Not the fastest, not the strongest, but the best route runner there. I'm still irritated the Rams traded ahead of the Ravens to take him!
I’m from his hometown(I went to EVHS though) Dude was a monster for Davis I was shocked when he was a 0star recruit. He ran a 4.4 and was a 4A champ and had all football state honors. His younger brother Ketner also had a tryout with the rams for LB but didn’t make it sadly. Knew he would make it big I’m a niners fan(all my family is from CA been fans since the 50’s and I was born there) but always love kupp. All this is legit. Him and Kendrick Bourne were great for ewu.
I picked him up in fantasy for his rookie year. I sent a text to my buddy in the league with a picture of his stats from college. He won me the league that year. My little Cooper Kupp how I miss you being on my team lol
Gr8 story. Reminds me a bit of the tenacity of a player with a chip on his shoulder - Julian Edelmann. I remember first learning Edelmann was the Pats leading receiver for the season and thinking “who?” After a few Super Bowl rings and “I caught that!!” it’s no mystery. For Kupp being 2nd behind Larry Fitzgerald or Megatron Johnson is to walk among greats, not behind. But Kupp has a SB Champions Ring.
Jeff Fisher cut him on HK and placed him on the practice squad. A few years later he has the greatest WR season in NFL history when you combine statisical and team accomplishments.
It was almost the opposite for me, growing up in Wisconsin back in the late 80s. I played football since 8th grade, I won the little league championship in 8th grade n State Championship in my senior year of HS. I'm Asian n only 5'5, people always say I'm too small n too short. I was a scoring machine in the games. I verbally commit to Wisconsin Badgers, then my dad passed away after the season ended while on vacation. I had to move to Detroit MI, I was homeless the moment he died. I dropped everything, now at 52, disabled n retired. I always have the "what if or what could" regrets... I'm really happy to hear stories like Cooper Kupp...
I think a lot of us do, I mean we are all capable of a lot if we just push ourselves (within reason) and circumstances don't hold us back, regret is a reminder of past mistakes and can be a strong deterrent and motivator....my exwife always thought worrying about the past (regrets) is pointless but it is not, it keeps you from making the same mistakes again and hopefully sets you on a more positive path.
@canton7180 I was able to find a good company building fire trucks. My wife n I have 3 girls n 1 boy, we owned a house, have nice cars like everyone else. I had a stroke n nobody would help us, even the state of Wisconsin give me a hard time for 2 years b4 they give me my disability. By then I've lost pretty much everything. I coulda had free college educations from Madison. Sometimes I'm just like WTF!
As a longtime Duck fan, I remember those 2 games vs EWU when Kupp was part of a dynamic offense with Vernon Adams and Kendrick Bourne. They raised our eyebrows
I think UW had to score 59 point or something to beat Kupp and Vernon Adams in Husky Stadium. It was crazy. Dawgs couldn’t stop them even though they knew exactly what was coming every play.
this video also explains why cooper kupp is the best wr in the league, he doesn't have the crazy abilities like tyreek hill with his speed, but he puts up the numbers that make him the best
2 things: 1) Steve Smith Sr. (future HOF WR) was called an idiot when he said C.Kupp will be the best WR in his draft class 2) Women, GENERALLY, do not value character/heart or even potential of a good man anymore (the year is 2023 of this writing). It is all money, status & looks. So Coopers GF is MVP!
He was just a late bloomer. His grandfather and father played professional football it’s actually not wild that he turned out to be a good pro himself he got the genetics
Anyone know why he wasn’t recruited in college. What I can find is he was already fast (4.4 in the 40) but very short and skinny. Then grew 3 inches his senior year in a late growth spurt. But didn’t fill out his frame until later and also added another inch of height in college.
I wonder if the transfer portal existed a few years earlier would Cooper transfer to a Division 1 school his senior year after putting up all those numbers.
Not trying to take anything away from him he’s definitely a beast when healthy but Megatron would of went for 2K if he played the same amount of game s
