- Today Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®️ is celebrating 115 years of sisterhood and service to all mankind! 💕💚
Fun fact: the popular AKA stroll to Set It Off was originated and choreographed by Florida A&M University’s Beta Alpha chapter members Melanie Speight Daniels and Terri Hines in the summer of 1988. I was so excited and proud to see my prophytes perform their creation during FAMU’s homecoming! Messeret Stroman Wheeler was one of the BA step masters from the fall 1988 step show (where the stroll was premiered) and is also featured in the video. I’m sharing this video with you now so you can feel the excitement that was in the air! ✨
