I told US Soap Fans about how bad Xmases are on Eastenders and they were surprised. This was without a doubt next to Archie kicking Janine out and Kat finding out the truth about Baby Cherry & Haley one of the most memorable in the History of The Show.
When the soap was worth watching. Actually when British soaps were decent in general. Now all them are utter crap. They need to just end. They don't have a place in modern TV. Just cringe
They took over the Pub together at that time. Janine was looking for a "Daddy" figure. I noticed that whenever a Woman grows up without their Father they look for an Older Man to fill the void.
george richer if I remember it was something to do with Ian calling in a debt that the Mitchell’s had borrowed!?! He was going to given them more time to pay it back instead of taking the pub because they defaulted on the loan he gave them and Archie forced him to sell their debt to him and he kept the original default time of Christmas Eve if they didn’t pay the money back then the pub was taken to pay the debt. Ian didn’t tell them what he’d done, Archie did by bragging that he owned Peggy and tried to blackmail her telling her he’d give her the pub back if she took him back? She refused and this was the end scene to Christmas Eve that year until the Christmas Day episode when she tried to force him to sign the pub back over to her and throughout the day it showed a number of characters out for his blood and wanted him dead which it turned out in one of soaps biggest ever who done it’s turned out to be Stacey who killed him. Because she was never a real suspect nobody really put any bets on her at the bookies and a lot of people lost a lot of money on this storyline and the who killed Lucy one because they never actually put the killer in the line up. They never really had a line up announcement for Archie because the whole square hated him so it was anyone’s guess, until the 25th anniversary week and they gave us 11 suspects by then the bookies stopped taking bets.
I miss Peggy, Ronnie and Roxy! EastEnders isn’t the same without them
No one will ever top Angie and Peggy as landladies of the Vic
They were the "smartest". They could have taught Liz McDonald or even Vera Duckworth on how to Run a Pub.
I would say Kat Slater and I think Pat Butcher was a landlady back in the day
