Whether you are changing your own oil to same money or because you want to make sure it will be done right, it's important to follow all the steps and use quality products! Your BMW R NineT will thank you at the end! In this video, I will be draining the old oil on my Motorrad, replacing the oil filter and the oil plug gasket and of course adding 4 liters of Liqui Moly 15w-50. I will also show you how to measure and make sure that you have added the correct amount of oil to your bike and talk about all the specs and torque specs as we go! You will need some tools such as the torque wrench, 8 mm hex socket and the oil filter tool (76 mm x 12 flutes). I wouldn't start this job without these!

I was debating getting the scrambler version of this bike or the Ducati Desert Sled. If it was just based on oil changes, this one would win hands down. Nice job on covering this.

Awesome video! One thing I wanted to point out was you should not apply more clicks with the torque wrench because although small pressure the wrench does add some more. One click is enough

Bro, please buy an oil cap removal tool, it's like 8 bucks. I'm sure that cap is way more expensive than the tool to be taking a screw driver to it, lol.
Thanks for the vid, I just finished my service... $8 tool, hehe.
    Thanks

BMW does not recommend moly-based oils as it attacks coated components.

BTW, the tool kit on these bikes is tucked under the fuel tank where it meets the seat. I didn't think I had a kit either and stumbled upon it one day. And the tool to remove the oil fill cap is in that kit.

My '21 Pure didn't come with one, I just went to the dealer and had them take my stock one off and I replaced with a Gilles that has a hex hole

per il tappo olio sulla testata devi usare la chiave specifica. con il cacciavite non va bene

I'm used to owning Moto Guzzi motorcycles and have been considering an R nineT Pure but I don't know a single thing about BMW motorcycles, as far as owning one or the maintenance required. Guzzi's are great bikes in their own right with ease of ownership and maintenance, etc but the achilles heel is that there's practically zero dealer presence in the US when compared to BMW, which is pretty much within a stones throw in any direction. Plus, getting parts from Italy is a journey in itself if the local sources don't have the parts. I'd imagine the Germans and the BMW shops are much better as far as getting parts for the bikes. How's the experience been with you bike? Has there been any issues with it or oil consumption, etc? I do use my bikes for commuting, city, long distance, etc riding so I need something that would be able to handle that reliably.

It’s a 2 cylinder box bike, it’ll eat some oil, it’s just recommended to check oil level every 500 miles. I absolutely love my 2021 r nineT.

Get ready to change out the cheap plastic fuel quick disconnect fittings with the metal ones. Buy the complete kit before you get stranded when they leak gas all over your motor and electrical.
