- America sure has a knack for diners. Cozy little joints with their big breakfasts and creamy milkshakes are quintessential American experiences. But some of them weren’t built to last! Why don’t we dive back into a few of those mom-and-pop joints that got lost in time?

I have never heard of any of these places, but I wish that I could go back in time to have a meal at every one of them. They all look like they were great places to pig out.
Country Kitchen. They were staples of interstates in the Midwest when I was a kid. There also was a chain called Nickerson Farms. The one in the Quad Cities had really good fried chicken.
I'll never forget going to Windows on the World back in the late 1908's. One of my friends actually celebrated his 18th birthday there and I was invited! It was very memorable and I still remember the views from those tall glass windows! It's just a shame that it will never be the same again.
There's a restaurant on the top of the new Freedom Tower (since renamed One World Trade Center).
Stuckeys was a good stop on most every major highway in the 60s.
There was a Los Angeles band in the 80s called The Motels. They had a song about the Atomic Cafe.

Why do they never mention that old lady who is shown halfway through the video? Does nobody know who she is?
Computer generated voice, "artfully" floating photos, specific descriptions without matching photos. Fails on just about every level.
I guess were witnessing our history being told by another species of intelligence in a rather mocking way as inferrior and simple minded, evolving pretty quickly arnt they.
