Where is my girl, Angelina Ballerina?! I loved her early seasons when she was 2D (and not 3D). She had a segment at the end of her show featuring real kids in ballet class who showed what they can do, and the Angelina voice over would celebrate and congratulate them!🥰
I remember reading the books when i was little 😊
Omg yes I had the little mice dolls!!
love that show and my mom wonders why I am still obsessed with ballet and now I want to pet mouse
I love Angelina Ballerina 🩰 and I remember those kids as well!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
"Do fancy little girls like this grow up to be super fancy, too?Do they retain this personality." Yes, they are called "theatre kids." 😉
GOOD ONE👍👍👍👍👍
NOOOOO YOOUUU CAAAUUUGGHTTT MEEEE 😭
and a majority of those theatre kids turn out to be queer in some way mhm mhm
Or like me you lose it for a tom boy phase only to return to your roots in full force by junior year of high school 😂
@@k49821 facts
he fact that the ballet class was so accurate, with the teacher randomly saying - "Posture!", "Elbows up!", "Spot!". It made me so happy inside haha!
Fancy Nancy is also a kid book series :) I used to read them to my nanny kid. She is very unique and uses big fancy words.
Yes I grew up on the books haha
And a board game too!!
Aww yeah I read all of them and I got my favorite ones signed!!
I didn't realize until you said it was a book but I used to read the books when I was younger, it may be why I started dance when I was younger.
@@Sunshine_Aly cool!
As a ballet teacher I can tell this children class is pretty accurate 😂😂 and the moment they have to take their tutu and Elsa costume of is always the worst haha
After the teacher does her whole big dance thing all Josephine can say is, "Yep, turnout is relatable." 🤣🤣
I haven’t danced for 30 years. What does she mean by “relatable”? Is this good? Bad? I’m confused.
She means that the turnout is what most people would expect children to have without any sort of foot strengthening or hip flexor opening. Not 180° like most movies show.
😂 I was that dancer who was super dedicated just because I wanted to be there. One of my ballet classes one year actually had a problem with people just not caring and not putting in the work (it was required to be on the team, so they couldn't quit without quitting the whole team), and my teacher actually asked everyone to write her a paragraph about what would motivate them to actually try in ballet. I didn't really know what to write because I already was trying (which she knew), son I just wrote her a paragraph telling her I was motivated by trying to become a better dancer and thanking her for the work she put in to teaching us. She wrote me a lovely letter back thanking me for my hard work and encouraging me, and I still have it to this day, a good ten years later, on the shelf with my competition trophies.
I have been in the same boat with other students not wanting dance as I did. And even if that meant that I couldn’t do the things I was ready for. I still get a lot of strength going slowly I’m grateful for that.
It's adorable to see a show for kids that shows real ballet, just the way it is and in such a positive way
I used to read fancy Nancy when I was little, I was surprised when Disney released a show. I never watched it until now, so cute😊
I was really mad about the show because to me it was nothing like the books she was way too sassy and dramatic in the books she was nicer and more polite but yet still fancy
@HootieQ Eh I think you were just younger. I've gone back and read books I loved as a kid and just has a realization of "Holy hell this child is a brat"
is this on disney+ then?
I was this exact child. My mother finally took me out of baby ballet, because I could not be persuaded that 5-year-olds can’t have pointe shoes. I didn’t dance again until I chose to at 14 😂.
SOBBING
I was that kid, but I didn't quit and kept going.
omg are we just living the same life?? I really wanted to use the barre but all they did was make us run around on tip top "Fairy runs" XD
"It is our version of 'wax on, wax off' " - Josephine. BRILLIANT!!! May I please have permission to use that with my students?
When I New that they do this show I thought: THIS IS A COPY OF ANGELINA BALLERINA?????!!!!!! So,I never saw it,but here I'am 😅🤣
Fancy Nancy is a bunch of children's book that came out in 2005. The publisher Jane O'Connor and illustrator Robin Priess Glassier sold the rights to Disney in 2015. Disney then made it into a Disney Jr TV series from 2018, ending with season 3 in 2022. It was also a live on stage musical based on the book Fancy Nancy Mermaid Ballet at Chance Theater in Orange County, CA. Chance Theater just completed the performances for another Fancy Nancy book called Splendiferous Christmas. There was also a 4 book series called Nancy Clancy by the same publisher and illustrator. Robin Glasser is a former 11-year soloist ballerina with Pennsylvania Ballet and due to injury couldn't dance anymore. She also danced at the School of American Ballet and American Ballet Theater. After Fancy Nancy, she has since illustrated books such as Grand Jete and Me with New York City Ballet Allegra Kent as the publisher. Robin has another ballet book coming out March 2023 called Goria's Promise A Ballet Dancers First Steps. Every time my two daughters (ages 16 and almost 18) and I see Robin at her book signings, she is always wearing a boa, tiara, and always in bling and sparkles. I have had and currently have the privilege to know and be friends with Robin for almost 18 years.
3:36 fr. zoom classes really tested how committed each student is to ballet. ngl at that time i wasn’t really very motivated to dance but i kept going with it until i got to a place where i realized how meaningful ballet is to me. ive been dancing ballet since i was three. its been 10 years :) love your videos btw
Same, the zoom classes were not very motivational for me since it was in my living room with barely any place and a bad floor for dancing. I’ve been doing ballet for 11 years (I’m 15) and honestly I really really love it but those zoom times made me re-think it all. But now we’re back stronger than ever!
@@Me-su2bu yesss
@@BLUEH0UR thanks, you too!
I'm imagining a bunch of little kids watching this show and learning some great intro barre, port de bras, and spotting techniques! This is so hilariously cute 😍
They’re impressive! I never got the hang of spotting
@@taylor3950 same here, that's why I never got past intermediate classes.
I remember Fancy Nancy as a book series that teaches English and French words (vocabulary) that have a tendency to sound sophisticated. Like saying "spectacular" instead of "great" which basically mean the same thing.
I hadn't thought of plies & tendus as ballet wax on, wax off, but it works. 🤣
I was Nancy without the Fancy, I was immediately bored by the repetition when we moved on from toddler stuff and tried to start a mutiny during a dance recital. I was 5.
So I'm not going to say I was the Fancy Nancy of my classes when I was younger but I'm also not not going to say I learned real quick 😂
Does anyone else love Josephine's acting in this video. 💖💖💖
when she says french words I can't help but laugh as a french speaker her ooh la la are so funny 😭
“What kinda ballerina are you”
Me: im a figure skater
Fancy Nancy: we spot so we dont get dizzy!
Me a figure skater: I just embrace the dizzy!
EMBRACE THE DIZZY! (not a figure skater)
I remember reading the Fancy Nancy book and using all her fancy words!! I didn’t know they made it into a show! That’s so cute!! 💕💕
I love Josephines little tiara😄😄😄😄
Yes, fanciness stays with us all our lives. Also, I teach ballet class just like that and I have a beautiful adult ballet class that meets once a week that you'd LOVE, from the sounds of things. I'm on Long Island.
The tiara rejecting Josephine, though. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The instructors in Purre Barre and any other workout that has some barre work can tell who the ballerinas are, they said we don't look like we are having fun. We ARE having fun! Ballet is fun but also serious.
Truth. I did ballet for 2 years before I was 10. I went to a Y Barre class and the teacher told me to relax my turnout... 40 year old knees don't take to 180° feet the same way 10 year old knees did!! Also, doing a stretch and immediately feeling my fingers hold the bubble... and my arms hold the beach ball... is such a trip! Muscle memory is insane!
Fancy Navy wasn't this melodramatic in the books. I think Disney ruined the character. My daughter Loved reading Fancy Navy when she was little. She learned a lot of big words because they were fancy, lol. I'm with Josephine I want this kind of ballet class. I would be perfectly happy to just hang out at the barre and do port de bras. Thanks to a car accident my turn out is terrible and I need the extra support of a barre if I am to go on releve. At my age it ain't happening otherwise.
Honey, fancy Nancy was my childhood. And yes my personality is the same, also I was the dancer that was there for ballet.
It was originally a book when I was born. Now I have a little cousins who are enjoying the show the whole premise of the book is that you follow a girl who really loves fancy words and paintings, and using the big words ““ fancy words helps kids with their vocabulary and now that it’s a show they can hear how to pronounce instead of getting confused when they try to read the book
Josephine’s facial expressions were everything in this video. Haha Fancy Nancy is a show on Disney. Adapted by a book series. The little I used to nanny loved it. Nancy is a bit over the top but I like that there’s always a cute lesson.
Actually, when teaching ballet to young students, when they are most impressionable, it's best to not go all the way with your turnout. It gives them realistic expectations. "Okay, so _her_ turnout isn't perfectly horizontal, and she's professional so it's okay that mine isn't, either" is important for kids to know.
Loved this so much Josephine, especially the hobo-chic ballet-core aesthetic. 😂
I teach little ones, and this is some of my kids! So much of their personality continues to shine through as they grow up in classes, and it’s one of my greatest joys as a teacher.
Merci beaucoup, Miss Josephine!
My daily entertainment has arrived. Josephine you look GORGEOUS in that tiara.
If anything 2020 made me realize that my dance motivation was friends and not the dance part, but now I would say my motivation is to dance beautifully and be a stronger, better dancer worshiping Jesus as I go!
Speaking for my daughter. Yes they stay fancy 🤣🤣🤣
Zoom ballet was something else 😂 Am I mirroring, are they mirrored?! Which leg?! Which arm 😂😂😂
I sure did grow up to retain my fancy! I wear a tiara when I Hoover!
😁😁
I grew up watching fancy nancy a little! basically she just says a lot of french and is very very fancy. Also I think I am the type of dancer that is always for some reason cold- like I always wear warmups except in class but like at Nutcracker in the dressing room.. I look like a pile of clothes
i have a neighbor who is just like nancy! when she discovered barre, she told me how awful it was and couldn't understand why she had to do it! its so hard to explain to kids why these boring exercises are so important.
the tinies competition team at my studio did a musical theatre piece to this you can just guess how well that went lol
You missed the perfect excuse to play Reba McIntyre's "FANCY" while Jo was trying to put on that mini tiara. 🤣
My daughter used to LOVE fancy Nancy. She even got to dance with her at Disneyworld.
So cute, and so relevant lol!! That would've totally been me in ballet class, always need to know why we are doing what we're doing haha!! Love this!
Oh my god, I remember watching this episode as a kid
Love you Jo 🩰
This was adorable and fun to watch!
My little sister was fancy as a kid. Now I love getting her clothes when she’s done with them because she has great taste in fashion. I get so many compliments when I wear anything from her closet!
So Adorable! I loved this!
Josephines outfit is literally balletcore and I’m here for it lol.
This is SO cute! I love it!🥰
in every episode, she learns something new and has patience with new things, as in a theme for the little one watching her to learn. I like'd fancy nancy but when I grew up I didn't know why. kinda funny now that I think about it
Fancy Nancy books had a CHOKEHOLD on me as a child. She was a true inspiration
Pls react to Angelina Ballerina! It’s my childhood tv show. Btw ❤ u!
This is gold 😂😂 I love Josephine's reactions.
WAIT! FANCY NANCY HAS A TV SHOW???!!!
That was one of my favorit books as a kid❤❤❤
I love how realistic the little kids are and the true simplicity of the exercises is so nostalgic☺
Lol i am really there for all the aspects of dance. My besties dances, I love the outfit, and ofc dacning is litterly my life so yeah!
i had all the books as a kid, they're still at my grandparents house and my little cousins read them, i love it :D
Aw, this is so adorable lol!
I didn't grow up watching Fancy Nancy, but I did grow up reading Fancy Nancy. They were writing Fancy Nancy books when I was a kid, and I LOVED her!!! I wanted to be so fancy like her!!! Fancy Nancy was my childhood!
I grew up with this show😂
I simply love Josephine and all of her facial expressions
I'm always the happy to be there, fully enjoys, learning new things and going over old things doing the same thing over and over for most of class and then going home and dancing almost all the time. my teacher is pretty sure I'm always happy what is true I am how ever dying to got to go on pointe though I understand that I have to wait. I'm almost 16 and just about to start my fourth year of ballet i can't wait!
Oh my god fancy navy 😭 I miss those days… they were also books and I remember having all the books when I was little. I think I watched some of the show but not much because it came out once I was pretty much through that phase… watching you react is my favourite thing ❤
FANCY NANCY WAS MY CHILDHOOD! Thank you for reacting to this.
Watching you have fun is more fun than anything you watch!
OMG this is sooo great!!!
Fancy Nancy is streaming on Disney+. It's based on the book series with the same name. I use to read them back in when I was in 2nd grade and it's funny and cute.
I'm almost 16 and still watch this show I almost know all the songs by heart
This show is on Disney+ my daughter really enjoys this show
Love the bar when I dance♥
I have a word for Nancy's bad day! A French Canadian said it when he described trimming an overgrown thorny bush. "ah-go-KNEE!" 😊😂😂😂
Please do (original) Angelina ballerina and bunheads!
I used to love fancy Nancy, and all those pretty, fancy things. I adored Sunday, because I got to dress up pretty for church. Now I’m a very different person. T shirts and shorts over dresses, ponytails over tiaras, track shoes over heels, and I love sports.
You should really react to center stage. I rewatched it and it's so good
She has a series of books!! Always read them as a child!
My 5 year old daughter loves the Fancy Nancy books. That's why we use indelible marker instead of permanent marker in our house. We've only seen the show a few times.
I'm glad you reacted to this, it's fun to see your take on it. I personally cannot stand Nancy's voice, so whenever my kids put it on I conveniently change it to something else 🤣🤣🤣
I thoroughly enjoyed Fancy Nancy and want more.
im in ballet just because i love it
Josephine is hilarious through this entire video😂😂
i remember it as a book
I know I’m late but I’m getting my first pair of pointe shoes this summer!
Hi Josephine I have a pointe shoe problem I sweat like crazy and I killed my first pair of pointe shoes in a hour I’m up to recommendations if anyone who sees this can you give me any suggestions because right now I have to put a cotton sock and a silicone sock on top of my toe pad can any one help me plz
Thanks for the likes ❤️
Hi I saw your comments in the live yesterday. Some people were answering you but I’m not sure if you saw. Sounds like you have hyperhidrosis. I would try a spray antiperspirant/deodorant and spray it on your feet before you dance. Or you could let it sit over night and spray it on before bed and then touch it up before you dance. It would probably have a better effect that way!
@@marydonnelly4705 for hyperhidrosis definitely spray the antiperspirant the night before. it takes time for the sweat glands to be blocked
Hm, maybe try a strong anti transpirant on the feet (if you sweat unnaturally too much a doctor may prescribe a medically stronger product). And have a look at the material of you dance garments, maybe you can get lighter ones out of a more high tech sweat-wicking material. Like what marathon runners use. And maybe a pointe shoe fitter has suggestions on another pair of shoes that hold up better.
I guess I missed the reply’s thanks for remembering
@@mirabellegoldapfel6256 that is true I’m thinking about using gaynor minden pointe shoes cuz they are fiberglass so sweat won’t effect them but I haven’t gotten them yet
I love your vids
I mean hahah every dancer I know loves bar it was the calm before the storm hahaha
so fancy nancy is a show and a book about a girl who lovex to be fancy and love ballet and paris its also on disney +
I didn’t grow up watching it it’s too new but my little girl does and she loves it. She thinks it’s hilarious how fancy Nancy is. She also loves her ballet class despite the barre lol.
LOL This is literally my ballet teacher with all the little kids and the when she gets to us: TURN OUT
this is so good i wanna be a ballerina so bad🥲
✨️YES! Little girl Fancy Nancys become big girl Fancy Nancys! ✨️
My motivation was all three. Friends, movement and the outfits and wearing the cutest one for my friends and complimenting everyone on theirs or something else they have 😭🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧
I love how I was thinking that Nancy looked horrified not two seconds later Josephine remarks it! She's reading my mind! 😂💕
I was like what is that and the memory at the back of my head unlocked and then i was like ohhhhh i used to watch that as a kid
I used to love this show ❤️
Nancy is so dramatic 😂
As someone who was obsessed with fancy Nancy books when I was little, yes the personality stays lollll
Not josephine wearing a tutu😆😆😆😆
I've been waiting for her to react to Fancy Nancy Omg I freaked when they made the show because I read the books when I was little and now I read the Fancy Clancy books which is when she's older
I do ballet for the aesthetic. Also for broadway that little thing.
Congrats to me! I’m pre pointe next year!
pls do more fittings :)
