  • Game theory, despite its innate complexity, constitutes an incredibly powerful body of knowledge that can allow a person to be more effectual when it comes to decision making.
    This is a 2021 re-edit of a game theory video that I posted back in 2019 ( • GAME THEORY: The Pinna... ).

      Bro, more than Game theory, the Belief/Trust/Knowingness that a fully win-win solution exists, in Any possible situation, is the most powerful metaphysical perspective to adopt - because your Trust/Knowingness will help reveal that paralel version of the Universe much faster, and from that perspective/knowingness, the Universe has no choice but to attract you in that parallel version of reality where that win-win solution does exist ;)

    I think this is a great video on game theory generally! Game theory also has a lot of different types of games and Nash equilibriums, and there are a lot of videos on CZcams that go into those specific types. For example, there are versions where people’s beliefs about the actions of others affect the result, as well as games where players do not have full Information about the actions of others but still must create a best response strategy that you can solve for!

    I do agree that cooperation is the best possible outcome in game theory but we have to remember that only distrust exists among society and we cannot trust each other therefore it will always be the betrayal which is beneficial (in prisoner’s dilemma if you betray you have chances of getting 0 yrs in prison if the other one stays silent but if he doesn’t and you do stay silent you get 3 yrs in prison, we also have to remember that for the cooperation scenario to come true the other guy has to choose silence therefore if you choose betrayal it will help in either case as if the other guys tries to stay silence we win and if they don’t we still end up at a stalemate as we prevented the enemy’s attack.

    The 'theory' gets more interesting when you assume people can act rationally or irrationally; sometimes it is better to act irrationally. Sounds odd, but the rational thing to do is to act irrational.

      On a serious note...I like your point there.
      To put an alternative spin on the common phrase, regarding 'perfection', I understand your statement to be...
      True rationality has to be irrational.
      Edit-- Is what you are stating there, called 'psychological game theory'...or have I mashed my melon with this philosophical rabbit hole lol?

    Hi
    The Quintessential Mind,
    I've been enjoying your videos, i just want to point out that the example given in the movie may actually be a correct Nash Equilibrium because:
    1 Nash equilibrium is about avoiding the worst possible outcome. In this case, the worst possible outome is for each player to get no pu$$y
    (Just like in prisonners dilema you have to confess just to avoid the worst outcome of 3 years in jail instead of 2 or having the chance of 0 years)
    2 The blonde in this case being the most attractive to them is high risk and high reward
    3 Choosing the blonde may lead to a worst possible no pu$$y outcome
    4 Choosing either one of the other girls avoids that outcome, hence you at least almost secure pu$$y
    The moral of the story is: some pu$$y is better than no pu$$y
    Just lower your expectations a bit and you avoid a worst possible scenario or at least a bad one.
    At least thats how i see it so far but i may be wrong.
    Regards.

    The rule of game, prisoner's dilemma says that the players can't communicate with each other and wherein, the main principles of game theory, it is stated that players need to interact with each other. Both the statements, former and later appears to be in contradiction with each other. If not, what's the rationale behind it?

    • @metamorphosis_77
      @metamorphosis_77  Před 2 lety +4

      According to Investopedia, game theory is the process of modeling the strategic interaction between two or more players in a situation containing set rules and outcomes. So the interaction stated refers to any interaction the players are part of (in that case the interaction is that they either need to betray or stay silent). The fact that they can't communicate is just a rule of the specific game.

    • @yanggang6985
      @yanggang6985 Před 2 lety

      Not being able to communicate is the reason they end up taking the worst decision for both of them. Thats why in real life its important to communicate. that's the lesson the principle is teaching us.

      @@gmshadowtraders I communicate with my opponents all the time. chess players often settle for draws when its in both of their best interests. Two competitive players often collaborate and establish cartels in business. same in political parties. Instead of being on each other's neck, they decide to squeeze the citizens instead.
      If communication wasn't possible, none of this would happen.

    By your own description of game theory it is clear that people have a problem with less window dressing and diplomacy on POTUS 45 s clear use of often successful outcome game theory approaching his 4 years than the typical diplomatic type do little leader … his players were the Middle East , Israel , Russia , China , and north Korea and in all cases it is clear he did that ..
    Perhaps it’s too difficult an approach somewhat amoral in its approach to moral national outcomes .

  • @AnglandAlamehnaSwedish

    This game theory is well played by the mob and boxers and gambling I know it was long ago n gamblers were not voluntary but wen a fight leads to a rematch we’re u make more money it’s best for boxers to get a w or l or go the distance etc it’s on u to gamble so r u really an involuntary player also the parent child game the wife wants this n that n the kid don’t know better just wat rewards them at first sadly the outcome is a loss for the child regardless if the parents stay together or split up n the government makes the rules usually in favor of one of the parents we all know which one

    I think this type of thinking is not practical in real life. Most of the time dominant strategies might appear good for one decision but destroy relationships and trust with others.

    • @metamorphosis_77

      Game theory can be complicated, but the essence of the game theory mindset is to seek cooperation in order to end up with win win situations. Something people usually ignore.
