    When I was young, the woodwork class had a poster on the wall, and it was somewhat adult-orientated. It featured a bolt chasing a nut. The nut was shouting "No, no! Not without a washer!

    The easiest and most tried and tested method to get the last few contents out of a dump trailer is to pull forward slightly and brake hard to bring the tractor and trailer to an abrupt stop. That usually releases the last few items in the trailer. Another simple method is to get out of the tractor and use a long handled rake or hoe to pull the last remnants out. The first method will work better if you have a swinging rear door that will bang the trailer when you stop suddenly. That door should be made to hinge from the bottom (e.g., when carrying stones) and hinge from the top when carrying something like sand or gravel. You do not need to pull forward at high speed for this to work.

    Hello from the Netherlands .
    I would still weld a "sleev" pipe in the new hitch of the trailer through which the hitch pin goes through again to reinforce the hole in the hitch and prevent the hole from being hollowed out.
    for the dump bed : maybe you can get a cheap old conveyor belt , the rubber part , I mean that dampens well and can also withstand the stones .
    for your skid steer bucket : I think you could make an open sorting bucket yourself ,
    they work great for shoveling stones ,
    shake the bucket a bit and you can sift out the soil that falls through the bucket .
    also very suitable for shoveling firewood from a floor on the floor, just shake the bucket a bit and you are left with clean firewood.
    thanks for the video . Sincerely, Hollandduck

    With the trailer wheels being at the rear of the trailer the nose weight on the hitch can be pretty high compared with a four wheeler or mid axle trailer so, yes,that hitch is really iffy. Definitely in need of some gusset plates.The length of the draw bar is also about how tight you can turn with the corner of the trailer fouling the rear of the tractor and the ease of reversing.

    8:58 The trailer axle is 'way' too far to the rear.
    One consolation it that the weld held together enough to stop the tractor instead of letting it tear the hoses off.

  • @hydrusavitus
    @hydrusavitus Před 2 lety +2

    When you do things for the first time, there is always some problems, from which man can learn and do it better next time. It seems weld penetration was not very good on that piece which broke off. How many amps and which electrode size did you use to weld it? Apart from putting the hole a bit further from the end, it will also help to keep the end of the tube from collapsing when you weld in a square piece at the end of it. Good luck!

    • @Ants_Pants
      @Ants_Pants  Před 2 lety

      About 100 to 125 amps. 7081 and 3.2mm. 👍

    • @hydrusavitus
      @hydrusavitus Před 2 lety

      @@Ants_Pants I assume the material is at least 3-4mm thick. Then you should weld with 140-180 amps to get proper penetration.

    I’ve a question, how did you make a hydraulic top link on that ancient tractor? Do you use it for ploughing to adjust a plough or for other implements

    • @Ants_Pants
      @Ants_Pants  Před 6 měsíci

      I added a 2 way hydraulic valve (it cost 100eur) to redirect the oil flow from front loader to back. And yes it's used for tilt adjustment.

    • @Ants_Pants
      @Ants_Pants  Před 2 lety +1

      Its an idea. But in that case i would need a bigger tractor as well. This tractor is about the right size for this trailer.

  • @manifold1476
    @manifold1476 Před 6 měsíci

    29:40 I don't see what your dedication is to that revered (soviet?) monstrosity you have between the trailer tongue and the tractor's "draw bar".
    I'd heave that apparatus at first opportunity with all the gusto I could muster, and just put the hitch pin down through the tongue and into one of the *many* holes in the draw bar.

      Actually in UK law I believe you have to give him a period of time to remove them as they remain his property. Would you say that if a neighbour parked his car on your land it automatically becomes yours. Of course not, you have to give him a chance to remove them. If after that period of notice has expired not only can you dispose of them as you see fit but you can also bill him for the expense and time involved. That usually gets them moved. If the laws are similar in Estonia then serving notice is the way to go.
