The state investing in kids. Financed by tax money. By law, every Norwegian municipality has to offer schools apart from the obligatory and ordinary schools. In the 1950s and 1960s they were called music schools. They were later developed to offer other cultural fields than just music, and were renamed “kulturskole», “culture school.” The offer of fields will vary from municipality to municipality as the local politicians will decide how money will be distributed between all statutory duties. These schools are not mandatory, but offer education to those kids who have an interest in music, theatre, painting, dance, writing etc. Teachers have to be educated within the actual field of art.

The Voice Norway has become one of my favorites since I accidentally discovered it. Wonderful talents. Wonderful coaches/mentors. I just love the way they're so appreciative of the talents.

The Voice Norway...I just don't have the words! The incredible, amazing, unbelievable talent! Not just one, not just two, not just three...they are ALL outstanding artists! I am blown away! What gifted, sensitive, thoughtful talent! What a pleasure it is to listen, to be carried away to be enveloped thoroughly in the song, the music the emotion. I've just returned from another world! Thank you!

There is no talent show that offers better musical talent than The Voice Norway. The judges are very knowledgable and so is the publics appreciation for good music.
I have to say that I think the level of singers on The Voice Norway is exceptional and the judges just seem to have such a wonderful joy and appreciation of music… a joy to watch.
I think The Voice Holland is right up there with Norway.
Another talented Norwegian outfit is Nor-Tech Powerboats, owned by Trond Schou and Nils Johnsen, based in Ft. Myers, Florida. They've sold hundreds of boats to their American customers and many to Norwegians as well. I wish I could afford their boats but alas, 'tis not to be. :-( :-(

There are amazingly good singers in Norway (too) The response of the judges is one of the most sympathetic of all the judges of The Voice (other countries).
It's amazing for such small country as Norway having so many talented singers. I can't get tired listening to all of these performers especially Jorgen Dahl and Emilie Omland with they songs interpretation.

I have been thinking for a long time what contributes so much to the singing abilities of Norwegians. The splendor of mountain landscapes? But Swiss people or Greeks are not able to sing like that. Finally I understood... It's cod! 😜
I find I enjoy watching Matoma's reaction to songs as much as the songs themselves. I can tell when the voice is a good one by his "feeling'"the music as much as listening to the voice. Norway does have some extrordinary voices. Thank you for letting us hear them.

I remember Mina Lund's blind performance, it was incredible. I think she would have won that year if she'd stayed in the competition. Its such a shame she voluntarily bowed out.

When Mina sang "Unstoppable", it seemed so perfect, and completely effortless. I believed every word. It blew me away.
Mina has to return. Espetacular voice and tone.
She is marvellous.
But , she chose other paths.
A loss for us all , but this is a choice of course.

Loved Tara's battle with jurgen, was personally my favorite in that battle.

As is my habit, I first listened without watching. All of these singers proved so very, very smooth and easy on the ears, just beautiful to hear. Then, along came Mina Lund, whose magnificent voice brought instant recognition! But of course, there are always favorites, to which list I must add Jørgen Dahl Moe, a memorable and soul-satisfying voice. Thank you, over and over again, pureemotionmusic. Your presentations fulfill my week in the best way possible!

Sadly I dont think she is singing. She left The Voice before the live shows because she realized it took too much time from her studies (she studied to be a teacher for kids wwith special needs).

Where do they get all these talented singers in Norway? They're all good, but my favorite is Jørgen Dahl Moe. He has a clear, high voice that packs a lot of emotion, and on top of it all he's got very clear diction. His performances have been consistently excellent, and I hope he wins. Thanks for this compilation!

I loved them all, but i really liked the first song "My Day Will Come", and wanted to hear more from her. And honestly they are all great singers. The 2nd singer's performance was flawless and the girl who sang "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails, too.. Whoever said "where do they find so much talent?" said it best, tho. Powerhouse voices. Great song choices, too. "July" - really good, no, really, really good. I would be hard pressed to have to choose a team or a winner.

The Bruce Springsteen one was by far the best. He did EVERYTHING heartfelt, allowed the song to tell him what to do.
