100% perfect for me right now! I'm just a singer songwriter and this has been a black hole of WTF for me for almost a year. I saw one of your videos a few times just scrolling and when I wanted to master my mix and utilize buses and sends I couldn't find a video that really broke it down for me. Just wanted to thank you for this video bruh. It's been saved in the links to check and i finally got to sit down and watch and study it. Brought a lot of clarity to the confusion ive had on this, as for the longest i've been running plugins on every track, effectively slowing my pc to a crawl eating up RAM/processor speed. preciate it mane
Awesome! There are times to bus out and times to use plugins on each track. Reverb, delay, stuff like that are usually the same setting for multiple tracks so you bus it out to a aux but compression and EQ might be different on every track so that's when you use the plugin on each track.

Your 20 minute video was better than any class I could have taken. I watched your mixing rap vocals and when recording ran into this exact issue. I couldn't control my Delays effectively. (frustrated) I'm going to save this session as a template so that when inspiration hits, I'm ready to roll.

HA !!! I agree. I'm actually taking a class at my local City College (I record each class on a hand held digital recorder) and I spend most of my time looking up stuff on You Tube that the instructor mentions in passing but doesn't take the time to fully explain. He keeps saying.."I'll talk about that in a minute" but never actually does. I'm getting what I can out of the class, but as a private music teacher I gotta say...if he did what I do for a living, he'd have to go out and get another job. You MUST keep the student engaged, excited, inspired, interested...and "well fed" (intellectually) or they will go elsewhere for their lessons.

John Arroyo I use vocal riders on the individual vocal tracks, but whatever works for you.

Great video. One thing you forgot to mention is when using an Aux send, always go to your out board gear (FX) and make sure your only sending the Wet signal, this is because using an Aux send, you can adjust the amount of signal on the Aux trim, meaning you dont need to send the dry signal twice
I recently purchased your mixing with Logic Stock Plugins tutorial, very informative and I've bought several other tutorials such as mixing with hip hop from the pro audio files. I think you're really helped me to grasp the concept of compression and the vocal chain as a whole. I was wondering, are you going to come out with a routing audio in logic tutorial? Also have you ever considered doing a webinar? I think it would be awesome for all your fans to be able to communicate with you on the aspects of pre and post production. Thanks again man!
