It's nice, but I think it should be more at Marty Stratton and id. In Mick's statement they seemed to be willing to cooperate, at least much more so than Marty. Imho Stratton did a shitload of work gaslighting everyone around himself and after Mick's reveal Behtesda and Zenimax did what any corporation would: they lawyered up and aimed at mutual agreement behind the scenes to keep damage to company's image to a minimum.

I can see him as someone to stick to his guns if he doesn't want to be involved with them at this point.

@@Spruehwuerstl No telling what the future will bring. Regardless of drama, the ID team are insanely talented, and the games are always badass. I wouldn't write them off yet. We also have no idea who'll do the music in the next one. We'll all miss Mick after the change, but that doesn't mean they won't find someone awesome in their own right.
@@ryo-kai8587To be fair, no one at id contributed to the soundtrack at all. That’s kind of the problem with the way Bethesda handled the whole situation, they treated a contractor (Mick) like free labor. If Mick were an id Software employee they wouldn’t have tried to get away with the fuckery they pulled on him in the first place.
Nik is officially an understudy for Mick Gordon, should he ever stop writing OST’s. I have spoken.

The first "metal" or riffy game music that blew my mind was Frank Klepcki's Command & Conquer and C&C Red Alert series with Westwood Studios. Mick and Frank are LEGENDS!
The soundtracks of those games slaps so hard, probably one of the reasons I'm in to metal these days, got my intro to the genre from those games

Hey Nik! If you ever want to look at another game with a pounding metal soundtrack, you should check out Killing Floor 2. The music combined with wave after wave of zombie mutilation gets my adrenaline pumping every time.

A large chunk of the KF2 soundtrack are Demon Hunter, Impending Doom, and Living Sacrifice instrumentals.
The song Made For War from this game is on my spotify playlist. It's one of the best video game songs I've ever heard and features Bruce Fitzhugh from Living Sacrifice on Vocals and Jeremiah Scott from Demon Hunter on Guitar. And it honestly just sounds like a Living Sacrifice song. I definitely recommend it

The best thing about Mick's soundtrack is that it's the BEST mixed thing I've ever heard in metal. The drums are fatter, cleaner and punchier than anything I've ever heard like a song isn't supposed to sound this good

Even though you have made so much metal stuff, it still surprises me how this sounds so raw, like holy motherfucker did you have caught some serious doom - metal spirit of what Mick Gordon makes, and at 7:47 I have felt how my face twisted in the most shocked expression, in the instant moment I imagined Doom slayer screaming att he top of his lungs, blood spraying everywhere adn the demons trying to draw back away from him in fear.

After his BFG version, and the fact you had some interactions I hoped so bad he'd take a part in this one [ which I knew you're going to make somehow :P ]
Insane song and production here dude! Something i noticed is your low end is kinda muddy sounding sometimes, at first I was thinking it needed more high passes, but I think its the kick sample is too long for the tempo. So when the kick plays it doesn't have time to die down before the next one starts, causing a constant build up like below 80 hz. I'm sure there are better ways, but you could try using a side chain expander with a slow attack to automate the effect of shortening the sample in parts where the kick is playing really fast to avoid muddy buildup!

Hey so like, weird question. How do you like playing an 8 string? Like, is it noticeably harder than playing your 6 or 7 string guitars? I ask because while I am interested in getting an 8 string, I worry about it being "too big" for me. I am short and I have small hands. Is an 8 string going to be too burdensome for someone like me to play? Or like, do you have any advice for picking an 8 string?
