    Everytime I trace from the silhouette studio it makes my images very pixelated

    Why did you change the line weight?

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před 2 lety +2

      You don't have to..it's just sometimes easier to see and find the path that way. Just be careful changing the line weight b/c if you use that in Silhouette Studio and print directly from there, any line with a weight will print.

    I tried multiple times following your videos and for some reason no matter how much I tried It alls turns the whole design to a different color on adobe illustrator. Can someone please help to only get it right.

      Hey there! This tutorial is for Affinity Designer, but the concept is the same, make sure you're selecting the path instead of fill www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2022/12/silhouette-studio-and-affinity-designer.html

    Silhouette business edition studio that i bought through swing design keeps crashing and i followed everything that support told me and it still doesn’t work, im kinda let down cause i did spend the money and cant get a refund:/

    • @SilhouetteSchool

      Usually Silhouette Studio crashing is due to not having enough memory/ram on your computer. I would check against the minimum specs to make sure your computer is able to handle it

    Can I export from Silhouette Studio to AI without Roland Versaworks? I have some pretty intricate designs in Silhouette that need to be saved to AI. This video is actually rhe closest I have gotten to an answer or understanding how it could be done. Still a little terrified but I will try it tomorrow when brain body & eyes have rested. Thank you! 🙏

      Hey there, if you have Business Edition of Silhouette Studio, you can save as a SVG to import into Illustrator. Check out the features that come with Business Edition here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2017/07/silhouette-studio-upgrade-features-list.html

    I followed all your steps in Silhouette and saved the image as an svg. When I try to open in illustrator, the image is huge and the cut lines are normal size so nothing lines up. Any idea how to fix this?

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před 2 lety

      Hey there, are you sure you're not exporting as a PNG or have PNG elements?

    Would you be willing to share your cut settings for printable heat transfer for the BN-20? This is a constant battle for me and it never seems to weed correctly.

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před 2 lety

      I have had good luck with the default cut settings for the HTV when cutting both S print and the Roland HTV. If you are struggling to weed, I would increase the force a bit to maybe closer to 190.

  • @nixx-boxed-you-yt9771

    Hey there! Do you have any videos for printing white designs? My sons shirt has white letters but how can I get that to print and cut on the bn20A?

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před rokem

      You'd just use the white material itself to act as the white in the design

    I'm a bit confused with when to save as SVG and when to save as PDF. When you are working with an SVG to start, you need to save as PDF right? And with PNG/JPEG, you'd save it as SVG and work that way?

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před rokem +1

      Roland Versaworks needs a PDF so you must save the final file as a PDF for VW. But if you are importing into AI or Affinity you can import a PNG or SVG to import to either of those.

    I'm getting as far as selecting the cut lines to change it to the swatch color, but it is filling in everything pink. Not the image, but the cut line layer is filling with pink. Where did I mess up?

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před rokem

      Hey there! It sounds like you've selected the whole image rather than the outside path.

    Does this work with the auto trace feature, if so can you do a video

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před 2 lety

      The Auto Trace in Silhouette Studio? If so, yes. If that's the case you would just bring it into Studio as a PNG with AutoTrace turned on and immediately export as an SVG then bring into AI to add the Versaworks contour cut lines

    When I click on the Versaworks cut line in AI, it fills the picture. What am I doing wrong?

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před 2 lety

      Hey there! A few things, make sure you're only selecting the cut lines layer AND that you're selecting the stroke (hollow square box) and not the fill (filled box).

    This does not work on my pc. I have tried 5 times and it still shows nothing like your screen. It will only allow me to do this in affinity designer and not photoshop

      Hey there! You need true vector program, we are using Illustrator here rather than Photoshop. Check out our blog posts for further information here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2022/05/roland-bn-20-software-why-silhouette.html
