Welcome to this comprehensive video guide on achieving the leggiero technique on the accordion. As an accordion teacher, you understand the importance of mastering different playing styles to enhance your students' musical abilities. Leggiero, meaning "light" in Italian, is a technique that focuses on creating a graceful, delicate, and airy sound. In this tutorial, we will delve into the key principles, exercises, and tips that will help you and your students develop the skill to play with finesse and elegance.
Section 1: Understanding Leggiero Technique
Definition: Start by explaining the meaning of leggiero, its role in accordion music, and how it enhances the overall expression and dynamics in performance.
Articulation: Discuss the significance of proper articulation, emphasizing the use of short, separated notes to achieve the light and airy sound characteristic of leggiero playing.
Bellows Control: Explain the importance of precise bellows control, which allows the accordionist to execute quick changes in direction to maintain a fluid and effortless sound.

Wrist Flexibility: Suggest wrist flexibility exercises to improve the ability to play with a light touch and enable seamless transitions between notes.
Dynamic Variation: Emphasize the significance of dynamic variation in leggiero playing, incorporating crescendos and diminuendos to add depth and character to the music.

Musical Examples: Showcase a variety of musical pieces that prominently feature leggiero passages. Analyze these pieces to understand the techniques required for a successful performance.
Pedagogical Approach: Offer insights into teaching these musical samples to your students, focusing on how to break down challenging sections and gradually build up their leggiero skills.

The best teacher I came across
Thank you!
New to me. I've played accordion for 59 years. There's always more.
upload some songs on your channel
Many thanks for the demonstration and explanation! Great video!
Hello Alexander, as I can't find my own question regarding possible video lessons on C-system, I just comment on your completely super duper channel here: All your thorough and precise information can easily be transferred to C-system, I think I'll manage to do that on my own. I certainly understand that it's easier to teach mainly in Piano Accordion, it leads to more clear information in the channel.....
Thank you. Yes, the piano accordion and C-system accordion has a deferent treble side but in essence same logic is behind them, except the fingerings.
Very important and impressive lesson.
Thank you!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME
Short and easy example 👍
