Cops want to go home to their families at the end of the day just like everyone else. It’s pointless to risk your life to try and fix a problem that the community doesn’t want fixed and support it.
I had to turn myself in on a warrant one time for missing court. Instead of booking me the police officer told me to sit in the hallway while he went and got the magistrate to write me a new court date. While I was sitting in the hallway I listen to two black detectives talk about what was going on in a part of the city they didn’t like working in. Some of the project housing got torn down and people from the different project housing had moved into the same apartment complex because they accepted rent vouchers. Over night that apartment complex turned into shyt hole. Some guys had robbed a card game and k;lled some people. When the detective went to talk to one of the suspects he got shot at because one of the guys had a warrant. Then people in the neighborhood were hiding him so they couldn’t find him. The detective was telling the other detective how he didn’t give a fk about what they do as long as they keep that bs in that part of the city. He said, they like living in shyt. Those people are lost. You can’t save them and you can’t help them. He said his main goal was to get home to his family at the end of the day and he wasn’t gonna sacrifice his life over some people that don’t care about what goes on in their community. He said as long as they keep that bs over there then let them k;ll each other. They like it. Anyone who doesn’t want to be around that bs should be smart enough to move away because you can be poor anywhere. If you’re living there it’s because you want to. Risking your life to fix a community that doesn’t want to be fixed is a waste of time. Both those detectives were mad that the police department was putting them in harms way to try and act like they are fixing a problem that’s unfixable. The same people that call the police every night are the same people who won’t talk to police if their family members or friends do the same bs. They get calls every day and night to go in these neighborhoods and then they go out there and get treat like shyt by the same people that’s calling them out there.
