Hey everyone! I've added the Flamingo Pool to the Workshop! Grab it for your zoo here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2923289882
How do you rotate? Ive pretty new to the game.
Also ive been struggling alot.
@@thevecolife hit X to bring up the move tool or hit Z to rotate by 90 degrees
I love animals :) and u are making the perfect zoo !! ❤
@@justunknown7thanks!
Great video! Im a zookeeping student and flamingos are actually fairly difficult to keep. They are very shy, they get easily stressed, and often can be fragile. One challenge in particular is that when they need a medical procedure they become so stressed that they might suffer from capture myopathy which is when an animals organs begin to shut down due to an overload of stress. It has no cure and often leads to death.
That’s really interesting. I have heard since I built this that flamingos are easily stressed. Hopefully in this zoo, with the water terraces being one of 3 possible starting areas for the guests they wouldn’t get too stressed? The ethics of flamingo keeping are a lot more complex than I thought!
So cool wow!
I loved watching the build at a slower speed, especially the pathing work at the beginning. It was super helpful to watch how you did things at a speed that's easier to follow. I can't wait to watch how everything comes together.
That's great to know Alyssa thanks!
Yeah I agree. The clipping is a pain sometimes when changing elevation and I find it worse when tunneling.
Couldn't agree more. I've grown weary of all the speed-builds to be honest. I'd rather hear the insights and methodology behind what's being done then watching pieces be spammed.
knowing that the gods of PZ suffer the pathing issues that plague us mortals is... odly refreshing
Haha I don't think I've been referred to as a God before, I like it 😆
The commentary with the slow builds is great, binge watching these while I wait 80 years for this game to come to consoles lol
Haha thanks, hope it finally arrives!
Love watching the build in a slower speed. It really helps to give us ideas for our own zoos and really allows us to appreciate the hard work that goes into each build.
Thanks!
I definitely like watching you build in slower speeds, when I see these huge zoos people built I never get how they do it, so seeing it all done in real time really helps me lol
Excellent, from all the feedback I will be continuing in this style!
Slower is SO MUCH BETTER!! Nobody can learn anything when it's going so fast that you can't even bare to look at it. Thank you for slowing things down.
This seems to be the consensus!
@@ZSHplays Can't wait to see more episodes from you! You're truly a "master builder"
@@cieramist1 Stop it I'm blushing 😁
@@ZSHplays LOL
Knowing what San Bernardino is actually like is making me laugh watching this 😂
Hah I just liked the name 😆
Lmao I literally opened the video thinking "San Bernaghetto"
I think this is the first video I've watched on CZcams where I felt the need to leave a comment.
I've just gotten into Planet Zoo and this video is perfect for progression!
You talked through eloquently what your plans were and why, and most importantly YOU SHOWED WHAT YOU WERE DOING!
So many other videos gloss over how they got to where they were so this has been groundbreaking for me.
Thank you so much for helping me love a game even more and give me ideas!
Glad you enjoyed it Calum! Enjoy Planet Zoo!
Absolutely love the video format mate. Please don't change it. Hearing your insights and methodology behind what you're doing at a pace that's easier to digest is invaluable. Love your build style, probably my favorite builder to date and I've been in this community since the beginning days of Planet Coaster. I'm a huge fan of modern architecture and IMO nobody does it better in the planzo community. I get a lot of inspiration from you and your videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
@@ZSHplays I do have a question though; how do you have so many things unlocked here at the start of your franchise? Like the Flamingo Feeder and the Palm Tiles?
@@Sabamonster because this is my second franchise zoo so they were unlocked in Tekton Zoo
@@ZSHplays Ahh, okay. Second Zoo same franchise. I misunderstood. Thanks mate!
I love this game! So far the builds are looking beautiful, I love the slower pace as opposed to the quick time lapses I’m used to seeing. I’ll be sure to watch the full series!
Thanks! Enjoy!
I may be almost an entire year late commenting on this video, but alongside all the comments saying how wonderful the slower pace is for folks who are using it to learn tips and tricks for the game, I want to say thank you SO MUCH from a person with epileptic seizures. There’s so many youtube series that would otherwise interest me that I just cannot watch because some little thing or another in the sped-up footage triggers a seizure and it can be such a loss to just have to put it down and know it won’t ever be for me. So thank you from me, and I’m sure plenty of other people with photosensitivity issues, who are so so grateful for none of those extremely jarring camera movements or image scrolling in this video
Never too late for a compliment! This is great to hear, I hadn’t considered it from that perspective but yeh speed builds must be a nightmare for people with this issue!
I guess for really elaborate, beautiful builds like these, it's not so much about the inspirations (which is what you'd mainly get from speed builds) but rather the techniques. I did not know that you could create a habitat like that for flamingos with water and stones instead of barriers.
So the slow format and a little explaining goes a long way for me personally!
Thanks!
While watching a recent video, I was fascinated by the realistic look of the franchise park.
Recently, I have been re-watching the franchise zoo video from episode 1.
The more you look, the more you marvel at its beauty and detail.
I am Korean (South Korea)
I'm not good at English, so I leave a comment through Google Translate
It's an awkward translation comment, but I want to express my gratitude for the good video
Aw thank you so much for taking the time!
I love the slow pace and real time building so much. It really helps me learn about building and creating in the game. And wow, super cool first video for the series, the flamingo pool looks amazing!
Thanks! I’m jut about to release episode 40 so it’s going well 😆
I love the slower build speed, finally I can actually see how it's all coming together and maybe learn something along the way. Looks amazing!
Thanks Mille! I think I've accidentally invented a new style of video which I'm going to refer to as a Slowbuild from now on 😆
@@ZSHplays Hahah slowbuild, love it! 🎉
Just letting you know, you talking calmly through what you were doing and why, and discussing what you were planning and why, put together with the music, helped me calm down from an anxiety attack.
I’m so glad I could help!
Building paths is the absolute bane of my existence, absolutely ballsy of you to start off trying to build a spiral staircase LOL. Turned out great though! I'm a fan of the slower speed as I struggle with finding inspiration for my own habitats, and hearing someone talk about their process as well as seeing it in real-time really helps me break out of those inspiration funks. Though I also enjoy speed builds! It's all fun hahah!
Flamingo habitats are among my favorites to build as well as see in zoos IRL. They're always so lush and pretty, and Flamingos are among the prettiest birds (in my opinion). This is no exception, of course! Looks fantastic, I love your use of white concrete. It's such a gorgeous contrast to these detailed exhibits. Looking forward to more of this series!
I just hope I don't regret it 😆
@@ZSHplays I hope you don't either ;P
Damn I wish San Bernardino could have something like this 😅
Haha, only in planet zoo sadly
Love this idea! So many flamingo habitats look the same, but this has such a unique flavour with some really creative ideas.
I'll look up the Singapore masterplan now to see what we can expect from you 😁 Really looking forward to this entire project!
Thanks Fabian! It's definitely a mix of my style and Romanopulatious so big thanks to him as well!
I like the slower build speed. I watch mostly cities skylines videos from creators such as overcharged egg or fewcandy (who just started a planet zoo noobs guide) and they build slow and steady with a time lapse in there to detail. It’s easy to watch and let’s you pick up a few hints and tips along the way 😊
Glad you like it! Thanks!
honestly... thank you for building in franchise mode. don't get me wrong, i've seen some impressive builds outside franchise, but I find literally no point in building with no challenge. this is refreshing.
My thoughts exactly!
This build leaves me in awe. Your attention to detail and built-style are phenomenal! Thank you for this video! I greatly enjoyed watching this.
Thank you so much!
This was amazing. Like photoshop gameplay-fantastic narration and editing as well. I'll be watching the whole series, absolutely. Thanks CZcams, awesome recommendation!
Aw thanks Milo!
I'm very excited for this series, it's already starting of great! I love the rocky-sandy island for the flamingos, it looks an exotic oasis. And the way the shelter fits into the build despite being white concrete is amazing. You've made it look so good. I can't wait to see what you'll build next! Super excited to see how the entrance area will look once it's all done, too.
I gotta agree with the other comments, the slower footage makes it a lot easier to follow what you are doing so it's even more interesting too watch.
I'm looking forward to the next episode ♥
Awesome! Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it! I'll be keeping the slower style!
I watched the first few episodes when they were first released. I stopped after I got busy with school, but I am going to rewatch all of them. Love your videos! I would like a tutorial to be able to be as good as you!!!
edit: Yes I liked my own comment lol
Have fun!
Late to the PZ scene but super grateful these videos exist. Definitely settling in while sick with covid to watch all these ❤
Aw hope you feel better soon!
@@ZSHplays thanks! We will it's like a bad cold this time thankfully.
I love this slower speed! Thanks! This is really fun to see how you do it and relaxing to watch and listen too.
Thanks Melly!
Excited to see how this turns out! Super helpful to watch a slower build, helps me see exactly how to build certain things or little tips and tricks. Thank you so much!!
Glad I could help! Thanks Chantelle!
Well I just found my favorite planet zoo youtuber from now on. That is so calming and at the same time exciting to watch. Thank you so much for the great videos, can´t wait for the next one.
Wow, thank you Nuschell!
another jaw dropping, incedibly beautiful build of yous! I cant help but watch in awe as you are creating... Wow!
Aw thank you so much!
This video was amazing! I never knew you could do so much in these simulator games. I'm definitely watching the series now! Also, slower speed works very well.
Thanks!
I'm so excited already, and it's only the 1st episode! I really do like this way of video. Get to see more of the process and feels more connected (if that makes sense, lol) than watching a speed though.
Awesome! Comments are 100% positive on this style so far so right now it looks like I will be continuing it!
i absolutely love this, ive taken a few months off of zoo, and coming back but watching first and this video style is calming, informative, pleasent to watch, making me remember "oh yeah can do that etc", cant wait to see how this develops.
Awesome! Thank you!
LOVE the slower build style!! Can't wait to see what's next!!
Thank you! Episode 2 will be out on Saturday!
Looks great! I love what you did with the foraging pool island. I've been avoiding building for flamingos for forever since I couldn't find a way to make the pool look nice, but I'm definitely going to try out what you did.
Go for it!
Beautiful start to your zoo. I just started watching because I’ll be a console user, your zoo is style is great!
Thanks!
I loved just listening to this whilst I fixed my nails this morning, really gave me some ideas for my own game as well
Thanks!
Brilliant, I've already learned stuff! Always had so much trouble with getting two storey buildings to work. I like the new style of video and I'm excited about being in on this zoo from the very beginning! 😀
Great to have you here from the beginning!
I love this style of videos. I’ve just discovered your channel and this zoo is what I’ve needed! My new escape from school work is your channel. Tysm
Awesome! Thank you!
I just randomly saw this video on my feed. I'm very happy I did. Enjoyed hearing your methodology and seeing the process.
Awesome! Thank you!
Drone cam?!? That's so creative! Loving this zoo already!
Thank you!! 😊
@@ZSHplays how do you do the drone cam? Is it possible to view a Timelapse build from that view?
@@JadeSpeight It's just one of the normal cameras you can place around the zoo with a drone built on top of it. I was thinking of doing a timelapse with them a few days ago!
For me, this video format is perfect, it makes it easier to see and really understand how you build and which pieces are used etc., so big thumbs up!
Awesome! Every comment so far has preferred the new format so I will continue the series this way 😊
Ur like the sane brother of let's game it out. I have never seen this game outside of his vids and when played normally it looked absolutely gorgeous especially in this vid. Kinda therapeutic in a way.
Haha! We should do a collab, the sane/insane zoo
I like this style, a little sped up but slow enough that I can see and learn how you do what you do. Good video
Excellent! I think I will continue with this style!
@@ZSHplays Can't wait!
Yes ZSH, great start to San Bernardino, been looking out for this today. Look forward to seeing how that entrance comes out 👌
Thanks Matty! I'm working on it now and... it's going to take a while 😆

So relaxing and satisfying. Great work!
Thank you Jonas! 😊
great video :) happy this got recommended to me. looking forward to watching more of your stuff.
Awesome! Thanks!
this is the first video of yours i've come across so i can't really compare it to your speedbuilds but i love this format! i'm always looking for more laid back (tycoon) gameplays and i will definitely keep watching this series :-)
Welcome to the channel! Glad you like it!
This is so incredibly made! You got a new sub bro.
Thanks!
Wow, I got 'Like' number 3500 on this! The number of views here is just insane, big congratulations on that! Seems like there is a lot of inspiration for both Zoo building and video making in this series, looking forward to seeing it all
Wow! Thanks Anders!
So excited to see this zoo! It’s gonna be great your so talented!! ❤
Thank you so much!
Very creative and a very beautiful and great start is 5he San Bernardino zoo ! The flamingo pool was so delighting to my eye and also the water terraces were very cool great zoo and very very great content . Appreciated !
Thank you so much!
Brilliant start to the series! As it happens, Dallas Zoo has a flamingo enclosure similar to yours near its entrance - I visited it for the first time last week (a day after the clouded leopards got out, no less!), and it’s almost as pretty IRL as the one you’ve made here!
Awesome! Thanks, glad mine was better haha! To be fair, it is much easier to make things pretty in PZ than when you have real life to deal with!
You're so much more patient with paths than I am everytime I mess something up (usually just with how every time you place a wall alongside a path it's slightly off no matter what one does to change it) and I end up scrapping the zoos xD probably I good thing I normally just play on sandbox mode
Hah much easier to fix things in sandbox 😁
@@ZSHplays Very much so xD I have a franchise zoo thats pretty basic atm but I intend to fix the exhibits one by one once I get the hang of it
Thrilled to have a new zoo to watch you build!
Awesome! Thanks!
Just found your channel 👌perfect exactly what I’ve always dreamed of keep going dude you are awesome

11:50 This is my first video I have watched of you so I can't say it is better than the others but I usually prefer slower videos like this. Great video
Awesome, thank you!
As someone in San Bernardino County, run 😂 I grew up practically in the San Diego zoo and wild animal park, excited to see this zoo unfold!

Aww thank you!
Amazing video my man keep this going, you got a new sub here
Thanks! Welcome to the channel!
The slower shots are so much more comfortable to watch for me. I really enjoyed it and I watched the whole video although I can't watch normal speedbuilds because they're just to fast for me. So that's just great for my brain that's already on fire anyway. And last but not least, the result turned out really really nice. Like it a lot.
Thanks! Yes the slow build style I started in this video is all my videos now.
@@ZSHplays Cool!
I‘m gonna leave a follow just for this series. Exactly what i searched! ^-^
Awesome! Thanks Andreas!
Hahaha, I live near San Bernardino. You would need ten times more security guards.... and they wouldn't be able to build such a zoo due to their funding-into-pocket issues.
Real life aside, this was a fantastic video, it has already helped me learn more about how to make my own zoos pretty. ("You can change the colour of the rocks?!")
I picked it because I liked the name, It's too far North really as well but hey, this is Planet Zoo 😆
Great start! I have no issues with the slower camera speed, makes it so much easier to study and copy your style. :D
Haha that is the popular choice right now! It's almost as good as asking someone to do a guest-build for you and then stealing their style that way 😆
Watch out Tekton, there's a new kid in town hahaha. Really enjoyed the pace of the video. 😁
100% positive comments on the pace so I will be continuing!
Finally I am so excited for this zoo
Yay!
Amaizng so excited for this.

@@ZSHplays Work in the conservation science department. If you're ever coming to Southern California reach out!
@@ParksEndurance Amazing thanks!
Love the lushness of the habitat, and the way the concrete shelter integrates with the waterfall.
One thing about layouts though: irl it would create a bottleneck if lifts were the only way for guests to get from the transport hub to the entrance, especially if one of the lifts breaks down (which WILL happen)
Thanks for the comment! I agree about the lifts but... the paths, THE PATHS! I intend to attempt to get a ramp from one end of the transport hub to the other if I can manage it so there is an alternative to the lifts. It depends if PZ's paths will allow it!
@@ZSHplays haha that's fair, paths in this game are a nightmare
What is a bottleneck?

i hadnt even noticed the slowing speed but think it was a good idea
Excellent! Thanks!
That blueprint suggestion was legendary.
Absolute game-changer, I use the rocks again in the next episode 😆
@@ZSHplays nice I will check it out.
Just a planet zoo rant
I have been working on something similar concept wise in my own game, I have got better at managing the whole economy in franchise and getting good breeding and conservation in general. But I get overworked caretakers when I get bigger even when j recruit more staff then money is an issue feeding 20 lion cubs is pricey.
I like hidden doors and natural looking zoos, but I am finding the balance a bit tough between electrical, pumps , work quarters and extra salary. I find you kinda need to pick between a zoo with lots of mouths to feed(at least when breeding lions) or less creatures and invest more into the zoo itself.
Maybe you can explore the balance of money over extra keepers and general costs when you grow in future episodes, and u leave the "newbie zone" where u get the electricity and pumps for free.
I am curious to see how you solve this issue.
My current solution is to use the work zones section a bit and min max it a bit more. Hope the comment gave you some ideas.✌
I love franchise mode!
Me to!
Love it!
Thanks!
