Suga shared that he had written People Pt 2. when he had thought he had lost everything.
"This song was written when I couldn't do anything due to Covid-19, when I thought I lost everything. So, it conveys the message I wanted to tell myself".
It's a love letter to himself.. Trying his best to comfort and heal himself. Confronting the emotions he had bottled up for a long time rather than running from them and in the process he hopes he helps us listeners do the same.
IU is his inner emotions along missing loved and cared for ones voices of past crying out to him.
I found it very relatable as I lost loved ones (including my husband) during covid period. Finding myself isolated from everyone & diving into depression. Till using music & reading to pull myself out of the drowning emotions to where I could carry out. Just recently started getting out by going to Dr appointments and addressing my health. I lost a high % of close family members ... with most of family coming down ill.
I still wear a mask with my portable oxygen as a help to make it while out. Ended up autoimmune deficient.
Had to learn to accept. Life goes on.
BTS have been a morale booster for me. This song along with Jimin's, RM's & j-hope's title tracks are now a daily playlist I listen to. Each conveying their covid experience & how to overcome.
