I was born in a Christian family in Pakistan. I went to a Muslim school when i was a kid and until i completed my bachelors degree. As a kid I had recite Qurani Talawat every week in the school assembly hall. Every one kept pushing me to become Muslim my whole life. I am so glad i don’t live in Pakistan anymore and moved to United States 🇺🇸 Here no one ask me what my religion is. I love my Muslim friends but they still ask me to convert into Islam. 😢

Thank God I was born in India. As a Christian, I am free to do whatever I want in India. Now, Pakistanis will definitely mention Manipur not knowing that Manipur is a fight between two tribes and has nothing to do with religion. I’m an American Muslim, who went to school in KPK, Pakistan. My teachers were mostly Christian’s from England and Sri Lanka. I had many Christian friends and what ever I learnt as a child from my teachers have helped me to this day. This act of few arrogant individuals don’t speak for every Muslim. I’m currently in Paris and since today being Sunday have visited at least five Churches to pay my respect. As a Muslim I ask for your forgiveness and pray God to help you all…Ameen

The concept of religious animosity to me was bizarre up until I moved to Pakistan a couple of years ago because I grew up in a community filled with people from other countries and belonging to other religions, in Saudi Arabia a muslim country where I was taught about my country Pakistan that it is a diverse and tollerant country. As a Muslim we are taught to live with peace with non-muslims living in a muslim state and to do so we need to develop empathy in our children and teach them about islamic values correctly.

Im 2nd gen British muslim pakistan and was talking to 2nd gen British christian pakistan and she told me how hard it is for Christians at islamabad airport, i replied don't we all have problems at pakistani airports but then thought no mater how hard it is for pakistani muslim in pakistan, minority must be experiencing much worse. Anyway few months later pakistan won a cricket match don't know against who but the same christian with other christians celebrated more then most of us muslim pakistani.
In Indian schools for the past several decades there is a pledge that we say that goes like this "All Indians are my Brothers and Sisters". We said it almost like rote without really thinking through it. When I listen to Junaid, I understand the significance of that innocous pledge that we used to repeat every morning assembly before class. I rarely think on the relegion of a person when we interact with someone in a social setting except during the fasting seasons for christians and muslims and the time when hindus tend to go vegetarian.

In India, kids are taught to live together without seeing religious difference or caste. Believe me, there is no discrimination in day to day life in India. We have friends from all religions, caste and creed. No difference or discrimination. The problem is rooted in the education in Pakistan. That is why we see these incidents happening. If you come to south India, there is not a day that goes by without some politicians of the south calling derogatory statements against Hindu Gods. But there will be no reaction to anything as we are extremely tolerant and our education is a reason for this tolerance. The incidents that you see happening here and there in India are by non state actors that is part of some group, party or organization. These organizations are not at all popular among common citizen in India. The main difference i see with India and Pakistan is the education that is provided to the kids of these countries. India has strict laws and is written in constitution that there should be no discrimination in daily walk of life, be it education or in colleges or in offices whereas there are proofs that kids are taught to discriminate and differentiate in the education provided in Pakistan!!! BTW, the issues that you see in manipur is not religious but it is ethnic. The issue has been going on for over 100 years. You will not believe me, but you have live to in India to believe me.

The key factor is that the state a n d constitution does not stand behind any community and validate the actions of the perpetrators. A good example is the clashes happening in Haryana. The VHP and some village councils issued a ban on Muslim traders but the Supreme Court Haa declared the ban unconstitutional and government Haa arrested people from both sides of the argument.

There are many kind of discrimination that happens across India, but what is not always caste based and it is decreasing across years. For example : I am from Kerala, 10 years back I would have had difficulty renting an apartment owned by Tamil Brahmins or Kannadiga Hindus, now after a couple of decades these push back comes from some not all. We are all minorities somewhere, when that realization happens discrimination starts dying down.

As an overseas Muslim Pakistani, I have been on the receiving end of such behaviour although not as severe. Very sad to hear about it and apologies to all the Christian community. But these people do not represent the best of us. Imagine an overseas Pakistani muslim's house burned by angry non-muslim mob! Cant imagine how scary that would be if it ever happened. Because every verse of Quran has so many meanings that a normal person with little knowledge of Arabic grammar and proper islamic studies cannot understand. There are different conditions. Sometimes one verse interprets the other verse. While, most of the time the verses of holy Quran were interpreted by the holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH. I am from Gojra Pakistan. Seeing all this brings back the revival of Gojra incident of 2009, I was 9 years old when I saw everything hehe my heart felt numb i couldn’t meet my mother for almost 12 hours, apparently they were hiding in other places. The concept of religious animosity to me was bizarre up until I moved to Pakistan a couple of years ago because I grew up in a community filled with people from other countries and belonging to other religions, in Saudi Arabia a muslim country where I was taught about my country Pakistan that it is a diverse and tollerant country. As a Muslim we are taught to live with peace with non-muslims living in a muslim state and to do so we need to develop empathy in our children and teach them about islamic values correctly.

Im 2nd gen British muslim pakistan and was talking to 2nd gen British christian pakistan and she told me how hard it is for Christians at islamabad airport, i replied don't we all have problems at pakistani airports but then thought no mater how hard it is for pakistani muslim in pakistan, minority must be experiencing much worse.
Anyway few months later pakistan won a cricket match don't know against who but the same christian with other christians celebrated more then most of us muslim pakistani.
They had to celebrate more to assure you that they are patriotic.

In Indian schools for the past several decades there is a pledge that we say that goes like this "All Indians are my Brothers and Sisters". We said it almost like rote without really thinking through it. When I listen to Junaid, I understand the significance of that innocous pledge that we used to repeat every morning assembly before class. I rarely think on the relegion of a person when we interact with someone in a social setting except during the fasting seasons for christians and muslims and the time when hindus tend to go vegetarian.

@@thesector707 There are incidents here and there happening in India for sure. But people in general, common citizens, do not participate in these incidents. In India, kids are taught to live together without seeing religious difference or caste. Believe me, there is no discrimination in day to day life in India. We have friends from all religions, caste and creed. No difference or discrimination. The problem is rooted in the education in Pakistan. That is why we see these incidents happening. If you come to south India, there is not a day that goes by without some politicians of the south calling derogatory statements against Hindu Gods. But there will be no reaction to anything as we are extremely tolerant and our education is a reason for this tolerance.
The incidents that you see happening here and there in India are by non state actors that is part of some group, party or organization. These organizations are not at all popular among common citizen in India. The main difference i see with India and Pakistan is the education that is provided to the kids of these countries. India has strict laws and is written in constitution that there should be no discrimination in daily walk of life, be it education or in colleges or in offices whereas there are proofs that kids are taught to discriminate and differentiate in the education provided in Pakistan!!! BTW, the issues that you see in manipur is not religious but it is ethnic. The issue has been going on for over 100 years.

@@thesector707 Brothers also fight. A country like India with 1.4 billion people of different cultural background is bound to have differences. The key factor is that the state a n d constitution does not stand behind any community and validate the actions of the perpetrators.
A good example is the clashes happening in Haryana. The VHP and some village councils issued a ban on Muslim traders but the Supreme Court Haa declared the ban unconstitutional and government Haa arrested people from both sides of the argument.
@@IronMan-nu3rb Yes there are discrimination against minorities, but that is at the ground level among the citizen. The state or the constitution does not sanction it. There are many kind of discrimination that happens across India, but what is not always caste based and it is decreasing across years. For example : I am from Kerala, 10 years back I would have had difficulty renting an apartment owned by Tamil Brahmins or Kannadiga Hindus, now after a couple of decades these push back comes from some not all. We are all minorities somewhere, when that realization happens discrimination starts dying down.

As an overseas Muslim Pakistani, I have been on the receiving end of such behaviour although not as severe. Very sad to hear about it and apologies to all the Christian community. But these people do not represent the best of us. Imagine an overseas Pakistani muslim's house burned by angry non-muslim mob! Cant imagine how scary that would be if it ever happened. Still we have a lot to learn from European nations to accomodate people from different ethnicities and religions into the country. ALLAH hum sab ko hidayat day. Ameen.

Because every verse of Quran has so many meanings that a normal person with little knowledge of Arabic grammar and proper islamic studies cannot understand.
There are different conditions. Sometimes one verse interprets the other verse. While, most of the time the verses of holy Quran were interpreted by the holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
Holy Prophet PBUH said, “I’m leaving two things amongst you, one is book of Allah (Holy Quran) and second is my Ahlul Bayt (my family). If anyone follows both of them, they will never be on wrong path”.

I am from Gojra Pakistan. Seeing all this brings back the revival of Gojra incident of 2009, I was 9 years old when I saw everything hehe my heart felt numb i couldn’t meet my mother for almost 12 hours, apparently they were hiding in other places.

I just can’t bring myself to accept the Blasphemic perk that one of us always ends up burning the holy Quran pages. Consequently, our whole colonies confront this. Jabky we are raised only on one fact that we belong to christ. I had never heard this term Kafar from my mother, father, cousins, friends, teachers, and etc for other religious people.
I am always content, when I encounter Muslims practicing their religion wholeheardly like my fellow colleagues or friends. I feel peace seeing Hindus praying and crying out, bow downing to their Gods with such faith.
