So much nostalgia. Also, Redemption was Fonzi, Killer N, Captain Anarchy, and Foulacy if I remember correctly. I thought that team was gonna crush. I was wrong. :(
Whats up Walshy remember me? I got a sponsor for AGP Philly. the guy ruynning AGP Jack Swayze The Digital Realm sponsored us for 3 events, 1 AGP and 2 MLG Hotel AIrfaire. Boston gamers, you might remember McGavin he had a big team in H2 IGS, made alot of 1v1 in H CE
These conversations are some of my favorite videos on CZcams. I am 30 now. I started halo online in 2005 when I was a young teenager. Trying to get good at H2 was everything to me at that time haha. The few games I got to play with pro players stick with me to this day. It was that memorable and important to me. It’s amazing getting to hear the inside scoop from one of the biggest legends from one of my favorite teams ever. Thank you for these Walsh.
It's funny that the people Roy and Walshy played during this conversation are probably thinking "OMG I JUST KILLED ROY AND WALSHY" when in reality they're just half playing and don't really care.
I met up with you at pax a couple weeks ago and I brought up how much I enjoyed the previous halo history video with Puckett . Glad to see you're back at it. I'm sure I can speak for a lot of people when I say we really enjoy hearing about how pros became passionate about the game. Thanks for everything dude
Fascinating. Thanks for doing this series. It's great to hear about these stories that happen outside of the game. Adds more depth, emotion, and insight to watching the pros play - then and now.
It's so weird to see Walshy not be the best H2. It feels like just yesterday he was destroying everybody. I know he's older and the reflexes slowly go, but damn. Time sure flies :/
Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth havent watched the vid yet but if he plays bad this game its because hes focusing on the stories, i remember he played shit in episode 1 aswell
Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth Older? Are you fucking kidding? F.Y.I.....reflexes and hand eye coordination don't peak until age 35. The problem isn't reflexes for any of these guys....the problem is being motivated to play in the same league as annoying teens and early 20 somethings that don't know shit about shit but pretend they do. Suddenly you wake up an adult and realize the children around you have nothing to offer.
The greatest mystery for the past 7 years of my life was what truly happened to create the final boss schism... I feel like I finally have closure. I can be at peace.
Gandhi would be a great guest to have on the next episode. But, and hopefully everyone can back me up here, it would be really cool to have one of the Ogres or Strongside on here. It would be awesome to see you guys talking like back in the old times, because right now everyone is missing H2 and H3 days, and miss the old teams and intense mainstage moments. I know I do :/
You should definitely write a book, theres a lot of interesting stories everyone needs to know about, not just halo fans, but e-sports fans in general.
I'm so pissed my parents didn't let us go to MLG. I had a clan with my 3 older brothers. Back in 2004, we showed up at two local Houston tournaments. AP (Amazing Pickles), formerly JF (Jesus Freaks) showed up. They were the number 2 team to you and the Ogres. Killer N's squad. We beat them and won both tournies. We weren't allowed to travel cross-country for the big events. But we never lost a tournament. Killer N even told us we were the best team he's ever played. But we never got to compete. Would have been amazing to go head to head against you and your squad man. I'm the only one that kept going once H2 came out. I was #2 in head to head right behind Karma, then known as K 2 the Arma (before all the standbying and modding came out). What could have been. What could have been your biggest opposition on a team with two twins, and Walshy? How about a team of four brothers. Would have been an epic series. Mad love for ya man and always enjoy rewatching the old MLGs from time to time.
This video is fantastic. I'm so glad to hear these stories. I truly feel like I should have been there with you. I've always held the same view towards the game as you and Lunchbox (according to Roy). Roy is wrong though, there WERE spectators out there that watched the game and said "OMG did you see Lunchbox shoot 2 guys and touch flag!?" - that was me. I love you guys, and I love these stories. - Casedude
This is an awesome vid! Me and my team actually placed 5th out of 24 teams in our first tournament and we had two subs! That was back in Halo 4 and we haven't competed since then but we're starting to find players who work well with us as a team so we might get into HCS eventually.
Awesome! I can't wait to watch the next halo history! Would be really cool if he could get Fonzi or one of those HCE/ early H2 guys that we haven't heard from in a while in a future episode.
Walshy, man I can watch this for hours. When you interview them, can you maybe ask them what their sensitivity is, controller layout, any specialties they have. Also how do Teams work exactly, it seems players come and go, who is the Team leader and if the original team isn't involved, why keep the same name?
I just love how hes got this room with a computer a chair, and then in the background just a couch haha, only a couch, I wonder what's stashed in there ;p
Hey Walshy, if you ever decide to make another episode I would be very interested into getting to know your perspective of MLG as tournament organizers, like stuff happening behind the scenes, how close was your personal relationship with them, and how eventually things went downhill and died.
This was so much fun! Like everybody I miss the good old days of Halo 2 MLG VoD. By the time Halo 3 came out I'd moved on to EVE Online but it's very interesting to hear how things went. I can't wait for Episode 3!
As a big support player, I can relate to the stat screen dilemma at the end haha. I don't really understand why the spectators don't see the effort that actually led to the one guy they do praise getting the cleanups. It doesn't really matter for me, but I reckon the amount of fans you have has quite an impact on your succes within MLG (like you also touched on here, with the example of sponsorship)
What I personally love seeing the most in MLG, is seeing pros perfectly manipulate their offensive and defensive angles. I've got a pretty good grasp of how the concept of ''angles'' branches off into loads of other strategical concepts, but I can never really seem to put it into practise properly.. Then again I'm inexperienced as a player and never REALLY tried to find the right spots and how they interact with your teammates'/enemies' locations. I'd love to see your perspective on what are the most important aspects of managing angles! I've asked some other youtubers and most were up for it, but some found it was a bit intimidating of a subject to cover haha. For every answer you get you get 2 more questions
this was awesome literally awesome. the history of mlg. both seem such genuinely nice guys. they deserve their fame BTW what happened with walshy when/why did he leave instinct? how long did they stay together.
I went to high school with soviet. He was kind of a weird guy. one time i joined his group in halo 2, mlg ffa midship. I came through and won at the end with a come back from behind to take it 50 to 48 or something like that. We get back to the lobby and then the next thing I know I'm kicked. I hung out with him a few times he never seemed to like me, I think because of that game, cuz we had a few 1v1s near the end and i double shot yy double shot him so hard he probably shit his pants. Talk about a sore loser.
Man, I miss the days of being a kid and playing Halo with my buds. Such a good time of my life.
Whose here in 2022? Bring these back @walshy! We need strongside Halo History
So much nostalgia.
Also, Redemption was Fonzi, Killer N, Captain Anarchy, and Foulacy if I remember correctly. I thought that team was gonna crush.
I was wrong. :(
Bring back this series please Walshy.. I have binge watched the series for 5 years now it’s becoming unhealthy I need more🙄
Whats up Walshy remember me? I got a sponsor for AGP Philly. the guy ruynning AGP Jack Swayze The Digital Realm sponsored us for 3 events, 1 AGP and 2 MLG Hotel AIrfaire. Boston gamers, you might remember McGavin he had a big team in H2 IGS, made alot of 1v1 in H CE

Woah 51 minutes of Walshy? Hell yeah!
Funny seeing you here :)
Man halo is the best game franchise, thanks for talking about your experiences playing it!
It's funny that the people Roy and Walshy played during this conversation are probably thinking "OMG I JUST KILLED ROY AND WALSHY" when in reality they're just half playing and don't really care.
true, everytime i kill a halo pro online, i record it :D
I met up with you at pax a couple weeks ago and I brought up how much I enjoyed the previous halo history video with Puckett . Glad to see you're back at it. I'm sure I can speak for a lot of people when I say we really enjoy hearing about how pros became passionate about the game. Thanks for everything dude
So many memories, Roy the best BR ever.
Fascinating. Thanks for doing this series. It's great to hear about these stories that happen outside of the game. Adds more depth, emotion, and insight to watching the pros play - then and now.
Please keep CZcamsing Dave your small community loves you.
You should have Gandhi on the show.
^^^
Active Camo always on, shotguns, no shields, on longest.
Upperrcut For real, i bet its hard playing live and doing a interview at the same time
absolutely.
Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth He's really not trying very hard dude. Listen to the interview - he never stops talking.
Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth Older? Are you fucking kidding? F.Y.I.....reflexes and hand eye coordination don't peak until age 35. 51 minutes of awesomeness! Love this type of content, Walshy!!!
Love watching these, so excited for Gandhi and Strongside next. Thanks so much for making these Walshy!
Thanks for doing these Walshy, they're awesome!
The greatest mystery for the past 7 years of my life was what truly happened to create the final boss schism... I feel like I finally have closure. I can be at peace.
This was great. Loved the long video.
Awesome Walsh, love the content! Please keep it coming

I dont normally watch videos this long straight, but damn Walshy. Always fun to hear about the legendary MLG Pros and backstories! Great content David
Love this series!
Walsh glad your back and playing again you were a legend bro good to see the man the myth the legend back in action
Keep doing these man I loved this
Wow, the fact that you were loyal to soviet like that was insane especially since that was basically your job. Much respect.
You should definitely write a book, theres a lot of interesting stories everyone needs to know about, not just halo fans, but e-sports fans in general.
This really brought a nostalgic tear to my eye.
Roy's a great story teller
I'm so pissed my parents didn't let us go to MLG. I had a clan with my 3 older brothers. Back in 2004, we showed up at two local Houston tournaments. God dammit. The feels...
That shockwave voice was hilariously realistic
Hahaha true brother story, breaking his Halo disc in his face. Had me rolling lol
The "bickers" bit was hilarious - I used to play with ich1ban in Halo 2! haha
24:05 It was Snipedown, fearitself, sk and hysteria. Ola was on ambush for All but the first tournament of the season.
As a big support player, I can relate to the stat screen dilemma at the end haha.
I don't really understand why the spectators don't see the effort that actually led to the one guy they do praise getting the cleanups.

Awesome
That team consisted of cpt anarchy killerN fonzi and ramby
2 of my fav players
Great video! Would love to see you do an episode with Ogre 2

More of this! Get strong side
Anyone have a link to that 5k vs. Redemption Midship CTF game? I remember the crowd going crazy and would like to re-watch if possible :)
I don't give a shit about the rules. I'm watching this at work right now!
lmao the real reason he was dropped was because when he made the full house reference he called them the olsen twins xD
QUESTION..
What would it take for you to decide to play competitively again?
I'm finding a lot of weird connections between the Halo pro scene and Michigan lol
Yes
Should have let Roy talk a bit more.
I think he had more to say. Maybe could have discussed what it felt like getting 1st place etc.
He never lets his guests talk..
Ghandi would be great for the next Halo History!
What kind of headset is that and how did you get the paint job
I know this old but will you ever make more Walsh
I started playing claw back in Halo 2 because of you, cant hold a controller any other way.
Local gimmick gametypes.. The nostalgia!
More vids walshy!
Write a book?
Under 301 Club
The "Mackeo face" will always be one of my favorite parts of the broadcasts back in the day. Whatever happened to good old Mackeo?
Bring Lil' Poison
Finally :D
Walshy, please make more videos.
Whats soviet doing now days?
Rebuilding the Soviet Union lol jk
my favorite gameplay of all time is roy when he was on instinct. most dominant player on the most dominant team they did not lose
this was awesome literally awesome. the history of mlg. both seem such genuinely nice guys. they deserve their fame
BTW what happened with walshy when/why did he leave instinct? how long did they stay together.
He was dropped from Instinct back in '09 and he went to play for Carbon.
It would also be cool to get Pistola on.
Woooow dude you changed alot since the time you was playing mlg with Instinct! Because i recently find your'e channel
Do you happen to know what platform he's playing the game on?
get at me im walshy
I went to high school with soviet. He was kind of a weird guy. one time i joined his group in halo 2, mlg ffa midship. You really are that guy, aren't you?
Can you talk about Gun Shot?
Come back where you at??
Damn walsh cant talk and play lol. He just runs in circles. Lol
You should definitely do one with Gandhi and Pistola, an Ogre 2 one would be amazing as well
