Fr tho, it's Leeds init
"where would you use the Yorkshire accent? Like where-"
"In Yorkshire."
Off to a great start👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
@@PennyMsElite Yorkies?
Haha..funny.. personally I like to speak like English with English accent.. I like British accent more than American's.. sounds sexy
제시카짱 That doesn’t make sense at all, there are so many English accents and British accents include Scottish and Welsh accents as well as English
Lol, as a Yorkshire lad I’m trying so hard not to laugh at their attempts, even I hadn’t put so much thought into my accent
Same mate, Leeds lad
You're not supposed to, that's just the way you speak - it's everybody else who speaks incorrectly.
recoil53 totally agree 😂😂
Exactly I'm from Scarborough but live in South Yorkshire
Bradster Rodríguez Donny accent is the besttt
"Where would you use the Yorkshire accent?"
"In Yorkshire."
Stolen
Ash is my waifu It’s a quote from the video
As an actual Yorkshire woman, can deffo say the bloke in the red shirt was the best!!!
as a Yorkshire lass, I'm finding it hilarious to see them use such a posh way of saying the words in a Yorkshire accent- this video is making me self conscious of my accent and I don't like that xD
Im from Dublin, I think the Yorkshire accent is so beautiful. 💕😜
@@claudiagallagher8907 hahah I think I sound awful 😂
Same 😂
I'm from Birmingham and we sound so much different than that
@@IsaacThompson-ek2ei yeah cause you lot sound weird to us 😂
Im from Yorkshire.. never been prouder to be recognised for the accent 😂😂
Can we have them learning the Scouse accent next? Haha
this!
Oh my god yes 😂
Oh yes and east Midland accent
West mindlands
Chaldeshhhh would be the only thing I could say because of love island lmaoo
2:09 “WOW! WOW! WOW! Okay yes!

PinoyPapoy waves. please stop
I’d love to see Americans try and master the West Country accent
Ginger damn it’s not that deep
@Ginger we dont like thinking about you inbred mutts
@@Gobbygoblin "Inbred mutts" is an oxymoron. Purebred animals tend to be heavily inbred, in order to cultivate the specific features of that breed, while mutts are more genetically diverse combinations of multiple breeds. Calling something an "inbred mutt" makes about as much sense as calling something a "giant dwarf". The two opposites cancel each other out.
@@VioletEnds no one cares michael
Jamichael0303, I’m guessing Tobias will still continue to use “inbred mutts” and he will continue to think about Americans 😂
Suddenly, 40% of americans are talking british and the president declares a national crisis
I choked-
"We must build an ocean wall between the US and the UK. I'm sure some of then are nice, but they aren't sending us their best."
an english accent isn't a new language, so people speaking another accent is nothing compared to the 25 something million people that speak spanish in the country. so please dont make jokes that make absolutely no sense.
Popodiopio I’m confused with what you’re trying to say
I get that there are many different accents and that it’s factually incorrect to say that it’s the British accent rather than a British accent. Sure there’s other accents world wide.
But if most cultures mock their own (and/or) other cultures languages what’s the harm done?
I’m British and you’ll still catch me going for a Liverpudlian accent every now and then
Tattie . B kk i'm just trying to correct a bunch of americans around here and seems you already know. i'm a brit and i moved to america a while back and they think us brits call football 'futbol', even though we don't and that's the german for football
Yay I am from South Yorkshire! We don’t talk properly 😂 I think the man in red got our accent the most
Americans : Y O R K SHIRE
Yorkshire accent: y o u o r k shu
Sk7ler 123 no.
Scottish: Yokshah
From this point forward I will be talking like I am British LOL
"I feel like I'm getting more Irish"
*proceeds to sound fake Scottish*
I've never heard someone sound so posh while trying to do a Yorkshire accent
Opening the eyes to Americans thinking that everyone in England sounds like the Queen 🙃
Amy Moffatt what?
literally no one in england sounds like the queen, to me she doesn't have much and english accent. and her voice is so old and croaky that it's usually her voice that she only has
@@hamley9744 Its called received pronunciation; mostly older posh people use it.
They should of had the instructor do it at the end
Would love to see Americans try roadmen and chav accents (you would also have to dress them up obviously)
This is such a basic covering of the Yorkshire dialect. I appreciate that they covered our flat vowel sounds, but without covering the glottal stops that replace 'the' and appear in the middle of words like 'future', the thou/thee/thy pronoun issue (pronounced 'tha'/ 'thee'/'thi'), the way we contract contractions (isn't = in't, doesn't = dun't), our odd uses of 'while' and 'since', and other phrases, it just doesn't sound Yorkshire yet. I know they can't cover everything, because there are some things that are particular to certain towns (like Sheffield!!!), but it's not quite there without the.... whole package.
Should do Geordie probs the hardest and the greatest British accent :))
Ebony 16627 AGREED
It’s pretty iconic. I’d say try a Northern Irish accent. It’s weird because it’s nothing like the Irish accent and nothing like the Mainland British accents.
Ebony 16627 aye
ah yes i love the geordie accent
what about central birmingham or liverpool, everybody in the big city is either high on crack or drunk, so they get quite a weird accent while yelling at the tele when man city loses to tottenham
I feel like the guy in the red tshirt sounded more Yorkshire then the guy doing the teaching
The key to any British accent is swearing
West Side is da best true, but also not. the londoners' posh accent exists too. just don't look at all the roadmen near parliament
@@hamley9744 Posh Londoners just substitute their swear words. "bloody" "Sugar" "Blooming" "Flipping" "Pigging" "Gordon bennett" "Toss pot"
West Side is da best lol that is true
West Side is da best haha so true
I love this! I want more of these videos!!!!
3:47 Irish for the win! Brenden also sounds like an Irish name. My middle name is Brendan 😂🇮🇪
I feel like I’m getting Irish 😂 that’s Scottish
I'm glad he brought up Scary Spice, because that gave me the exact frame of reference needed to figure out what to listen for.
As a native Yorkshire I love the recognition of more than just the rp accent 👍🏼❤️
Guy with beard (sorry don't know the name) does it THE best!
If your American CZcams “Little Britain Vicky Pollard” for a giggle 😂😂😂
Dario Dasilva Sharing our amazing British culture 😍😂
yeah but no but yeah but no
Dario Dasilva she’s not Northern though
Pahah I was watching that this morning
0:41 I mean if you think about it, it makes since Americans have trouble breaking accents of foreigners into subgroups, just like how a English person may have trouble distinguishing the different types of Southern accents.
Hi Jack! 👋🏻
Sarah Corrigan here!! (From school) So cool that you’re on buzzfeed!! Congratulations! Great video!!! 👏🏻👏🏻

*I know nothing about the yorkshire accent*
Jon: *we have something in common then*
ohhhh i love videos about accents and it seems like the hard american "R" sound is just as hard to overcome in American accent as it is to master in an English accent
Well there are still accents in England that pronounce r the same way as Americans do. This is because a lot of American accents are derived from those accents.
Please do Liverpool next 😂 making Americans do scouser is the funniest thing to me
Isn't that what most Americans try and do because of the Beatles?
@@recoil53 as an American, I feel like when we attempt a British accent it's usually more London than anything. It's just what we think of because of Harry Potter 😂
Marissa S haha yeah think most people do London or if they know it a bad Beatles ( and in Liverpool we don’t sound like that anymore) it’s a lot quicker now a days 😂 I don’t know anyone who actually talks like Americans think we do but then again we all do a bad Texas when we try , so we can’t talk 😂
I’m from Lancashire (next to Yorkshire) the only guy remotely close was the red shirt guy 😂
Someday I'm gonna change my accent to British
Please don't be another Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills. That dude is insufferable.
That makes no sense
I'm waiting for a video with a dialect coach to at the end be like "this actually wasn't my accent! Fooled ya!"
I love this. 😂
Did any American here already know how to do a Yorkshire accent? 🙋🏻♀️ I watch a British show called Emmerdale and I’m always imitating their accents lol
I’m a Mancunian married to a Yorkshire lad. So happy you gave northern accents a good go!
The first time he said "riding " was actually really good
Not accurate, they were pronouncing the h's at the start of words, "I saw a horse near my house" = "a saw an orse nea ma/me ouse"
I'm from Yorkshire!! Or as we'd say I'm a Yorkshire lass lol
Born in Yorkshire myself but moved down south and you don’t realise how different we sound till you compare us to American or people that are from London lol😀🤣
We need a video with both this guy and Erik Singer.
Ee bah gum! That were a cracking video. Tah, ducks!
Ey up!
As a Yorkshire native. A+ for effort. Not bad 😊
For the first time in history, Americans are starting to realise there are places outside London!
Can we do a Manchester , Newcastle and scouse accent ? (Northern) would love to see that
Finally proud to be recognised as Yorkshire 😂
Now I wait for a scouse version 😂😂😂😂
I believe Downton Abbey set is in the north, right?
No lmao
It's Yorkshire. I looked it up.
Yes it’s set in Yorkshire
Im from Sheffield and may i just say that i have never put so much thought into the way i speak and also non of u sound like us lol 😂
Red t shirt guy was the best
Oreyt then, lets av a luk and see what tha's got t' offer. Okay this is funny and quite good 😂😂😂
my mans bringing out the t s eliot 💪🏼💪🏼
england has many accents its not just the accent u hear on james bond movies
As a Yorkshire lass, guy in red was the best
me being from yorkshire it’s really funny to watch and the way they say yorkshire is funny
The answer is in Yorkshire simples
Try other local accents like Boston or New York, or overseas ones like Australians vs. New Zealand.
Have a dialect contest, where contestants learn an accent, and the others have to guess it.
All of us behind our phones trying to speak in a British accent and failing miserably
3:49
That awkward laugh of Jack😂
And if dr who still came on BBC America I would still watch it
That white guy with the beard smashed it 😂😂
More of this! The dialect coach seems nurturing of them learning and not overly critical or negative. Wonderful teaching!
Bit stereo typing, a lot of areas in yorkshire have slightly different accents. Some one from Barnsley tends to (sound) different from some one from doncaster.
I guess this is a different type of “wave check” if u know what I mean
do an aussie one !!
Nice ❤️
They should have Mel B reading the poem
Yess Northeners represent!
finally some yorkshire representation
I swear u go to Yorkshire and no one speaks like that🤣🤣. Also can they do this with Essex, I’d find that halarious as it’s nothing like the voices on the telly!!
I'm a Londoner so I wouldn't really know but from hearing Ant and Dec a lot on TV I think the guy in the red shirt did the best.
Kasey Jeary ant and dec are not from yorkshire 😭
@@gabrieltaylor8971 Sorry it's just northerners all kinda sound similar to me.
Ant and Dec are from Newcastle, they sound nothing like people from Yorkshire
Americans think we drink tea and live in fancy houses when the majority of people are like ‘bruv I will BuSt Ya KnEe CaPs’ ‘MaNdEm’ ‘BlUd’
Well it went to pot when they actually had to do it at the end 😂
And they all sound american at the end?!
Lauren Sayers guy in red shirt did a good job
you HAVE to do the Essex accent next
Hey isn't a British accent like 20 different accents?
Especially seeing as Great Britain includes Wales Ireland and Scotland???
Edit: oh hey they specified for once! Good on you Buzzfeed!
Awsamazing Eden there’s hundreds of them
I don't even know my own British accent..
You mean northern ireland
People from towns less than ten miles away from each other have different accents.
Northern Ireland isn't in Great Britain. Great Britain is just Scotland, Wales and England, whereas the UK includes all 4
At least they tried
Is mr Sheffield from the nanny is his accent Yorkshire ?
No
as a briton, this was extremely entertaining
Everybody knows a Yorkshire accent, Yorkshire Terriers bark in a Yorkshire accent.
Oh boy...here come the British people in the comments complaining how they were doing it wrong or how laughable their attempts are....it`s their first time doing this, calm down
Did anybody else notice that the coach sounds like tan france. I made my sister listen to his voice without showing her the video and she fully believed that it was tan
I find this funny as being from Sheffield
Some of the sounds were right but it doesn't really work without the shortening. I have seen them riding seaward on the waves = av sin em ridin seawud on't waves
Should try Kent accents 😂 xx
Don’t they speak in RP in Kent?
Igritte from GOT
Most of them reverted to the "typical" Brit accent 🤣 Yorkshire has never sounded so posh!
A little bit Dore and Totley for my liking!
@@kevinfox298 exactly!!
B- LOOOL THATS A U SIS
I’m from the north but in Lancaster (so I have ‘no’ accent apparently) but it means I can RIDICULOUSLY easily put on a Yorkshire accent and I only just realised that through watching this video
Everyone has an accent, everyone on the planet smh!!!
I am from west Yorkshire
I’m from manchester(northern England) and yet I could never do a Yorkshire accent as good as any of thiers😂
I’m northern this is great
