I always loved science fiction since I was a child and The Time Machine is one of my favorite novels, the movie changed a few elements but overall I think it worked for the best, I feel this is a great underrated movie.
This is in my top 5 time travel movies. classic.

For me, I went from the old-timey part to the weird part in the cave, and I couldn't remember what it was called! Now I finally understand how he got from one part to the other. 😁I love your recaps.
The original was better, it kept to the books story. Now remember, H.G. Well wrote this novel in the 1800s, in the book he forecast WW1, WW2, airplanes, Zeppelins, atomic bombs, and air-raid sirens, none of which was invented in those days, truly a remarkable man to foresee what his time machine saw
How the hell was the hologram powered at the end? Grass?
the moon wasn’t destroyed because of a war, but they wanted to create new underground habitats- but it results in a catastrophe. (at least in the 2002 movie) - the war comes after where humanity splits into 3 - the naive food type on the surface, the mentally overpowered ruling race and the brutes underground.
the most unrealistic part is that after half a million year the moon is still broken, when in theory it should be reformed into a ball shaped satellite:) but cool movie, i quite like it :)
A reasonable remake of the Rod Taylor Alan Young Yvette Mimieux 1960 classic
