Thank you, Mason. I took UTIP course a few months ago and passed the written exam today.
The main reasons for taking his class was that the course was reasonably priced and relatively not boring. Also, I finished watching all of his lectures already, so why not paying for the practice exams and a certificate?
For the interpreter part, I almost solely relied on his lectures and practice exams.
For anatomy and physiology, in addition to watching CrashCourse videos that Mason has included in his course, I took other youtube videos that are easier for me : )
I hope Mason will post more videos regarding the oral exam.
    Thanks, again!

Hi Mason, I just saw your channel yesterday and finished watching your 3 parts series of how to become CMI. I have a serious question that is will the course you introduce fulfill the 40 hours of medical training requirement for the NBCMI? Or would it have to be a well known online course?

      Hello there!
Yes, my course, MIPCP will fulfill the 40 hours of medical training requirement for both NBCMI and CCHI. Although my lecture videos are available on CZcams at no cost, you will need to purchase the course and take the course on my website (www.UTIP.ca) in order to receive a certificate. I hope this answers your question!

      @@masontheinterpreterHi Mason,
Thank you, your response did answer my question. I will spend the next couple of days watching the lecture videos on your channel, and when it’s time I’ll visit the pay course on your website for the certification. I’m looking forward to learn from you!
      Eddie

@eddiedowntoearth Hello Eddie, thank you for letting me know! Just a reminder, you do have to take all the quizzes (there are many!) and two practice exams to receive your certificate at the end in the paid version of the course. Good luck and feel free to leave any questions in the comments, or if you prefer, I am just one email away. 😊 Take care, Eddie!

HI Mason I have a question so in the pay version of the course everything will be in there like the practice written exam, oral exam, what should I learn before the exam, and material to study. Thank you!

    • @masontheinterpreter
      @masontheinterpreter  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi there!
      Sorry for the delayed response.
The course will cover the knowledge you will need for your writtne exam, from interpreting knowledge such as code of ethics, roles of interpreters etc, to anatomy & physiology medical knowledge! Now, the course indeed covers “how to interpret” which I call 5 interpreting skills that are extremely important for the oral exam; however, just watching the lecture videos alone will not be sufficient to pass the oral exam especially if you have not worked as an interpreter. That being said, taking this course isn’t a guarantee to passing your certification exam but definitely a helpful guide to get started (not to mention the actual certificate that you are required to have before you can take the written exam!)
I hope this helps and please feel free to let me know if you have more questions!

@@masontheinterpreter So far I love the interpreting practice in Chapter 2 and I don't know if there are some more interpreting practices like that in the course. If there are more interpreting practices like that it will be excellent. I fell excited.

At this very moment, that is the only video for practicing but surely, I will be adding more materials in the near future! I will make sure to update you when it gets added.
I am so glad to hear that you are enjoying the course so far. That is the best compliment that I could ask for from anyone, so thank you!
