In August on a beautiful VFR day, I had a business trip from Seattle down to the San Francisco Bay Area. Rather than share the whole flight, I thought I would do a more in-depth video of the arrival into Hayward Airport (KHWD). I’ve flown into Hayward several times but it is always “interesting” for a few reasons:
    • It at the end of a ~4hr single-pilot IFR flight
    • It is in the busy NorCal Approach airspace
    • Hayward is not a difficult airport at all but it is buried in an area with a lot of development. It always takes me a while to visually spot it … even thought I know exactly where it is.
Despite all this, it’s a terrific airport with great controllers and FBOs. Its an easy place to rent a car and get on with your day.
I hope you enjoy the video. Please LIKE, SHARE and SUBSCRIBE if you do!
