The Albanian Kingdom (Gheg Albanian: Mbretnija Shqiptare, Standard Albanian: Mbretëria Shqiptare) was the official name of Albania between 1928 and 1939. Albania was declared a monarchy by the Constituent Assembly, and President Ahmet Bej Zogu was declared King Zog I. The kingdom was supported by the fascist regime in Italy, and the two countries maintained close relations until Italy's sudden invasion of the country in 1939. Zog fled into exile and never saw his country again. The Communist Party of Labor of Albania gained control of the country toward the end of World War II, established a communist government, and formally deposed Zog.

This was meant to be the anthemn of the albanian people, it was written by Gjergj Fishta. He was a poet, politician and also a catholic priest born in Fishta. He later worked in Shkoder at the Franciscan monastery. He also took part in the council wich decided the territories of the Albanian nation in 1913. He was part of the UN, and gave speeches protecting the interest of Albania. He also influenced in the westernisation of the country, being the main proponent for using the latin alphabet instead of the arabic one. Thanks to him we use the latin alphabet. It is also known as the "Albanian homer" because of a major poem he wrote wich is called "Lahuta e malesise" in the same style of the "Illad". This particular performance wich you hear on this video took place in that very church where Gjergj Fishta worked. The Albanian hat is qeleshe/plis which is one of the oldest traditional hats in europe or even the world, it dates back classical antiquity.
The crown in this picture is the helmet of Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbe, Albanias national hero which is also still in use on albanias coat of arms.
Its the crown of Skanderbeg.
It has the form of the Plis a traditional Albanian hate and the goat one of the most important symbol in Albanian culture along with the eagle and the snake

@@jameszog1018 Sadly this isn’t really a song with any real connection to Zog, in fact it was written by one of his opponents (though they later reconciled), the only known surviving piece of genuinely Zogist music is the Himni Mbreteror, the royal anthem used by King Zog

@@baltasargutierrez5366 very low, while the world adores King Zog, many people believe he was a traitor, which he was, he stopped helping kosovar Albanians in their rebellion during the 1920's which eventually destroyed the rebellion, killed the leader of the rebellion and let his wife starve to death in albania. He couped the country and removed a popular leader (Fan Noli). Instead of gaining support from the allies he sided with the fascists, and when Italy invaded the country, took all of the states money, and left for exile. And today while Albanians are poor the royal family (only figureheads now) have a lot of privileges which the people hate, so no return if the king anytime soon
@@erandisufi676 King Zog constructed Albania, he played out the italians and took a lot from them to build the country, when they would put harsh terms upon him he would nationalize institutions even more and continue trading with neighbours as a replacement, until the italians would come back with even more money to offer. When the invasion happened he was again offered money which he did not accept and held a resistance, not him but the goverment which was in exile took some treasures with them so that the fascists wouldn't steal them, as the british did after the incident of corfu, a referndum was held in 97 which was won by Zog but got stolen.

Zog’s ineptitude and cowardice made him unpopular. The only people who shill for this fraud royal family to return are a small faction of Albanians who do it for larping purposes. Nobody cares about Zog nowadays he was an authoritarian ruler at a time when Albania was ass backwards and stagnant economically and socially.
@@LiveWire276 After the win in the Vlora war and the congress of Lushnja, its when the stability of the country was put on, thats when factories were opened, schools, hospitals, great bridges some as the 'Ura e Matit' which are great even for nowdays (back then they were even a bigger deal then nowdays) etc.. Grabbing profits for Zog wasnt as easy as for The PPSH because italy wanted to kneel down the king in which refusiom was always the answer, and after that they would come back with more free profits, the officd of the espionage also had a major role in the stability of the outer international politics. The army of the kingdom was so great that Filipo Anfuso (3rd most important fascist at the time) quoted that if the Albanians were better euqipped ( and if the italians in Albania did not destroy the ammo) they would have driven us back into the adriatic.

This song was made by Gjergj Fishta OFM, a famous Albanian poet and writer. He was also known as "Albanian Homer".
This song was not made for Zog, but this was made to be Albanian National Anthem, but in period of Communism it was changed with an communist realism song, that unfortunately still stand as Albanian National Anthem.
Yeah it wasn’t written for Zog, but Fishta did receive a lot of patronage from the monarchy (after being pardoned for originally opposing Zog), and this song was used prominently by the Legaliteti during the war

This is what Gjergj Fishta wrote, a Malesor and Zog was against Malesors
Gjergj Fishta was indeed initially an opponent of Zog, supporting the 1924 revolution which overthrew Zog’s first rule, but in the early 1930s Fishta and Zog reconciled, and Fishta returned to Albania with Zog’s pardon and support. However you’re correct, this is more an Albanian national hymn rather than anything specifically to do with Zog. For a real Zogist song, you have the Himni Mbreteror, which was Zog’s royal anthem

Geg lost something albanian had, the schwa letter that tosk preserved but geg is the most archaic dialect of albanian, tosk cannot find the ethymology of some old albanian words that geg can.
