I gave my daughter's 4th grade teacher an emergency kit. It was a school pencil box and it had cough drops, lip balm, Tylenol, energy drink packets, a roll of tums, candy, gum and a gift card.
Oh that sounds so nice!
Bless your â€ïž!
That's such a good deed I'm sure the teacher loved ut
I read it as your daughter and I was like âwhy would she need a gift card at school and for forth grade gum?!?â
Genius!
What teachers Really REALLY need is for parents to teach their kids to behave in the class room and respect their teacher.
đ€Ł Well if we're asking for magical things that are never going to happen, I'm asking class unicorn to the list.
THIS
Parents need to PARENT their children if they expect Teachers to be able to TEACH them
While I do think kids spend far too much time sitting down (at least then did when I was in school), I don't understand the screaming thing. I was not allowed to scream as a kid unless it was an actual emergency (and I usually didn't then, either). Screaming would not get me literally anything except told to "Shut up" and come back when I calmed down. It wouldn't get me attention. It wouldn't get me snacks. It wouldn't get me literally ANYTHING. What on Earth makes kids scream so much? (My backyard neighbors are raising a herd of banshees, I'm convinced. Gosh! All. Summer. Long. Seriously?!)
AMEN !!!!!
They do! I was taught to give everyone my respect. But when we have subs my class is extremely rude, EVERY CLASS, they will be like 5 kids who will behave and thatâs if we are lucky!
Student: "Are you gonna die if you don't drink coffee?"
Teacher: "No, but you might."
đ
Solid! đ
"And if admin walks in and wonders about the pillows, we will just call it flexible seating."
I spit out my drink. I love it! đ€Ł
Again, not allowed in school. Head lice.
@@catsinhouse my school allows it
This was my favorite part đ€Ł
My school had pillows and bean bags when I was still in school.
@@catsinhouse it is allowed if you follow proper sanitation processes.
I mean...I homeschool two of my kids and I need almost all of this so I can't imagine a whole classroom of kids all day long. Keep the coffee and chocolate coming.
Same!!
Iâm making a list of all the things you mentioned so I can give my kidâs teachers a back to school gift this year. After homeschooling last year I have a hole new appreciation for my kidâs teachers. Thank God for teachers!!! Iâm so glad weâre going back in person this year đ„đđ
Thatâs super nice of you đ My sister is a preschool teacher.
That is amazing. Good for you!
I love to see your support â€ïžđđŒ
Good idea..
B/c I've given my kids teacher a end of the yr gift basket every year for about 8 + yrs now. Nothing super special, but they've all were appreciative.
I am doing the same.
I don't have any kids but I think my next door neighbor is still a school teacher or she maybe a principal now, I am not sure. But I know she and her older sister both do some kind of work at school. They will both get a couple gift cards each. Starbucks and bath and bodyworks.
You know she's a real teacher when she mentioned alcohol.
I once saw this bottle with a picture of a kid with a statement of "we think you might drink because of our kid, so here's a bottle on us"
I used other coping mechanisms
Also add some cases of disposable water bottles to that list. Because there is NO WAY we are drinking out of the germ-filled water fountain or refilling our water bottles from home with that same fountain-infested H2O at school!
Right because nobody ani't drinking out of them water fountains anymore!
They need to take them out of the schools
Totally. They are already off limits for schools that have returned to in-person learning, due to the pandemic.
I'm a sub and thankfully more schools have started putting in those water bottle fountains. Those are the best because then you can reuse bottles without having to worry about germs from people's mouths.
@@sarahsimpkins1311 exuse me what if a child forgot their water bottle? Kids always use water fountains
@@Rigyang2000 im sure kids not drinking out of the fountain since the covid 19.
The parents need to make sure they pack bottle waters
This woman understands my soul âșïž
"Are you gonna die without your coffee?' No, but you might."
That is definitely me in my classroom haha
I have 100% gone to my car to nap on my prep period. Everyone knows when I "left something in my car" đ
I just pushed my desk out of my room and installed a couch. My admin knows better than to question my motives, there aren't any available teachers for a 100 mile radius.
@@NoliMeTangere1163 đ
@@NoliMeTangere1163 Sounds like you're in demand. Do what you gotta do to stay sane
Donât most teachers get paid to work during their prep period?
@@jonicole7762 probably but they donât get paid for the extra 10 hours of work for marking, grading and creating content for kids to learn from
How about many cans of Lysol so that I can spray some while I run around the room as soon as the students leave? We also need stock in throat lozenges after the first week back in class.
My school requires kids to choose between tissues, Lysol, or whipes to bring to school
Hell, yeah, throat lozenges. Sore throats and laryngitis all yr long!
One year for cold and flu season (long before covid) I put together a full kit for my son's teacher. Lysol wipes, Neocitron, sanitizer, the good 3 ply tissues ect) she loved it!
As a student i had no clue the literal hell we put you all through. Love ya teachers!
Been teaching for 33+ years and am so glad I have "Bored teachers" to help with the stress relief!! I love listening to all of you!! And hands down you got it girl!! God Bless and thank you!!!
What are the biggest differences between when you started and today. It seems like 1990 wasnât too long ago but when you compare the ways kids are treated today... Itâs like you may as well as started teaching in the ice age...
@benhaney9629 when I began teaching in 1997, the students were less spoiled and parents took the raising of their child more seriously; no cell phones, no automatic believing that their child's utterances as fact. The Administrators are still horrible, lots of belief for the lies, of the chronic misbehaver, as it is easier than standing up for the teachers. I have been teaching for 26 years and can't wait to retire.
As a middle / high school math teacher, I can verify that all these things are necessary and appreciated!
I am not a teacher, but with what i deal with at home, I have a humongous deal of respect for teachers and can see this is a good list. For moms too đ
Target and all these suggested products shoukd be sponsoring this video and giving her all the supplies she needs. Love these.
Making a list. My kids are middle and HS now. I feel like those teachers needs some extra LOVE!
They do. Elementary teachers get all the stuff..and too many mugs....but MS and HS teachers don't really get anything. The parents are over it by then.
OMFG. I didn't even thing about anti-fatigue mats. I could get my daughter's teacher a couple where she stands a lot, that's a great idea. My district's teachers are underpaid and they deserve so much more đ
I can't hear it anymore...teachers are underpaid. ....checkers are underpaid, retail help is underpaid, hairdressers are underpaid, accounting clerks are also underpaid etc. They all deserve more....so many hard working people not even making 40 K per year or not even 20K despite working full time. I know for a fact that dental assistants are also underpaid. They don't make enough to afford to live alone and are forced to shake up with room mates because of the cost if living....
After what I have seen recently going on on the school board meetings I am shocked about the number of nit so well meaning teachers the kids have to put up with. So quit whining. Teachers have it better than many other workers in othwr occupations.
Hats off to every teacher that is not abusing their position. You want Febreese....my coworker and myself had to keep perfume bottles in our desk cause Febreese was not cutting it for the foul smelling customers that would come into the office. They needed soap first.
I got a headache just thinking about those screaming kids
LOVE the "flexible seating" really great!!! My kids are long graduated and moved on with their lives. But I STILL pick up supplies and yummy stuff for many of the Teachers they had. Teachers and Nurses, the most underpaid, underrecognized ( if that is even a word). Profession that there is. They should be THANKED each and every day, for the INCREDIBLE things they do for us.đyour Teachers, and đyour Nurses.MANY MANY Thanks to you all!!!!!
As a retired teacher all i can say-- is So True!!!!1
Chocolate IS the recommended remedy for dealing with dementors.
agreed
Not a teacher or a parent but I loved this video! Super funny but.... behind the laughter it's a grim reality to realize what teachers go through every day and what they need to get through it. Coffee + alcohol + chocolate = super unhealthy diet. I hope you teachers are eating right! Parents, please teach kids to respect their teachers and not give them a hard time.
Hilarious and sooo true!! Next school year will be my 26th yr teaching Kindergarten and 28th at my school!! Pray for me, ha!!
I love this lady in these videos! When I see that it is you , I click on it quick. Your personality is very relatable and you really get the struggle. I want to add one more turn a closet into a padded room so we can bang our heads against the wall.
when my kid is old enough for school im getting her gift cards to target or Walmart for her teacher so they can buy whatever they want or need
yes we teachers love gift cards!
Excellent idea - I love this teacherâs suggestions but you may not know your childâs teacherâs preferences, allergies, or medical issues that might mean they canât actually use your gift. Not a concern if theyâre choosing!
Donât forget to give your teachers a BIG thank you .For all the work they do.đ
Best supply list ever!!!!
Legit gives me an idea for a teacher's gift basket LOL
My friend, I only hope plenty of parents are watching and LISTENING. You speak the truth!
Iâm watching this to get ideas cause Iâm making a gift basket/ bag for my 5 year old kindergarten teacher as a heads up apology in case she acts up. She should listen but just in case weâve been talking to her and letting her know to give her teacher a easy time and be a good girl
If I had a child, I would care for my teachers. After all, if not for the teachers, I would have to deal with home schooling them.
Teachers are amazing and deserve everything on this list and more! You all do so much with so little, for so little. And lord knows every parent uses all/most of these things to survive... can't imagine having 30+ in a room.
Kids: âAre you going to die if you donât have it?â
Teacher: âNo, but you might!â
đ€Ł
Loving this channel!! Iâm not a teacher, but I know why thereâs a teacher shortage - You all deserve more money and respect.
Bless all the teachers for putting up with our children... I will make notes when my child goes to school
shoutout to all my teachers who needed coffee/drugs/alcohol due to my #adhd . only when i became an adult and then a teacher did i realize what a handful i was!
Friend! You Speak The Truth!!!đ
I am a teacher and I endorse this message! :)
I get headaches from dehydration, but itâs either that or be in agony because I donât have time for a potty break. My lunch is at 1:00-if I get one. Some days, weâre so understaffed that we eat with the kids and thatâs our *break* for the day.
I feel this deep in my soul! Iâve been teaching preschool for 33 years. Those little hands that are just learning the proper grip canât even make a mark with a rose art crayon.
I used to keep under my desk one of those rectangular plastic cake carriers filled with beach sand. At the end of the day, Iâd slip my feet in the box and de-stress by pretending I was at the beach. đ
Truth!!! I have about 30 people I need to share this with right now. LOL
Yassssss!!!! Just about everything on my list for my Teacher Bugout Bag!
You have the balls to say what I could never. I tip my hat to you, milady. Now that I'm not teaching anymore, I try to spoil the teachers who put up with my son. He has six teachers (including SPED and therapists) and he's in Kindergarten. He can be a handful lol
Oh my goodness! You are hilarious and you tell it like it is!!!! Teachers everywhere know exactly what you are talking about! đ€Ł
As a student, idk how yâall teachers deal with us. Thank you, for all you do. Have a great day/night everybody, stay safe out there, and God bless!!!!!!!!!!! :Dâ€ïžâïžâ€ïž
I love this woman. She is so funny and sooo right. 24 years in middle school here. Yes parents, your child is the reason we drink lol.
I am a HUGE fan - thank you so much = Im just gonna invite my Teacher friends over after school { on days when we arent too exhausted to have an actual adult conversation AFTER - school } and drink, laugh and commiserate about how much of everything you say is so DAMN TRUE !! . Peace and love from the Teachers in Berkeley/ Oakland, Ca xoxo
After the housing crash, I spent 4 years as a substitute teacher. From that I learned that 1. I do not love teaching 2. Even without my own kids, I try to donate to nearby schools 3. Admin is more of a burden than any of the "actual" teaching 4. Admin needs to ask themselves how they can be more helpful--judging and assigning training is bullshit 90% of the time.
PREACH!!!
#3 is the TRUTH!!
90% is a low estimate...
One year I saw a large amount of file folders on clearance at Walmart. Big packs for 50 cent a pack. I bought 5 or 6 dollars worth and drove it to the nearest school. They looked at me funny- can't blame them. Didn't have any kids. But when I dropped them off and left I could hear them fighting over them behind me.... >.< Now that's broke.
I had a substitute for a whole year. She was 20. She was new. Imagine what nightmare year i had.
Epic PSA for parents!đ
The not sitting part is sooooo true! I remember the absolute guilt I felt while I was 8 months pregnant and just had to finally give in and start sitting down sometimes. I just couldnât do it any longer and decided that if admin walked in and said something to me about it I would just have to say ok tag youâre it because my back and feet canât do this anymore. đ
That's nuts...it's not healthy to stand all day and esp. when pregnant...a system that demands this is sick indeed. Glad our district hasn't gotten this totalitarian...yet. I'll wait.
Headache medicine also works for that perpetual stress tension that I had in my neck. It finally went away here in the beginning of August.
I'm school shopping for next year to take the stress out of September (which is also my son's 13th birthday month) and now I'm down a rabbit hole of your videos. Thank you, for all of the tips!
As a high school teacher, I LOVE this list!!! đ đđ
I approve this listđ
Preach!
During warmer months if you've ever walked into your kids room and noticed the funk, now imagine those hallways and classrooms after gym or recess! Especially in middle school when kids haven't quite figured out daily bathing and deodorant is a MUST! So a GIANT YES to the air fresheners!
I'm a teacher myself, but I am so doing this for my own kids teacher. This is brilliant and so true.
Yeah for the whole list especially alchohol.
When I worked in a Montessori school, one of the teachers I worked with would often go to the supermarket to pick up her lunch and would come back with dark chocolate filled with a praline mousse. I would sometimes get us some before I started work, and we would call it our medicine/survival rations. I bought her some for her birthday this year!
Note to self. Make a care basket for first day of school containing these items
Oh see got real serious in that liquor section! Lol đđ€đ
My 5th grade teacher had a coffee machine in the classroom and before we would read our stories she would make a cup of coffee
đ€Ł this was great! Bless all teachers. You have one of the hardest jobs on the planet. Sending you love and happiness. â„ïž
Also making a list for our twin's new kindergarten teacher! Great suggestions.
Hell yeah to every item!!!!
Former high school teacher here! 5000000 yeses to the air fresheners! Despite my efforts my 9th grade classroom had no window and always smelled like feet.
THE INSOLES!!!!!
EMERGENCY CHOCOLATE!!!
Lol as a kid I would go out of my comfort zone to help other kids Learn, such as asking somewhat embarrassing questions, participating in plays and such, and reading stories, plus it made it worse that I was anxiety struck and had a pretty soft voice
"might have to get us some of these (motions to diapers) if they don't give us more restroom breaks" speak it loudly!
The funk that follows them đ
Girl you make me wanna go buy all this for a teacher. đ loved this video
0:25 one of my favorite teachers used to say that too. đ€Ł
Respect â my teachers were Angels đ
One of the schools I was on PTA for the teachers wanted to use the PTA funds for Keurig machines in each classroom and thre was a major fit thrown when we wanted to upgrade textbooks instead of keurigs.
I graduated from in-soles to crocs everyday all day, year roundđđœ
Flexible seating đ€Łđđ
What teachers really need in order to survive not just the school year, but the actual calendar year (365 days) is to allow students more time for exercise during the school day. More exercise might help some (but certainly not all) students to focus better. If outside conditions are unfavorable for outdoor activities, do you think you can discuss with the principal or superintendent about having recess in the gym?
Many schools have to use the lunchroom as their gym because there is no separate gym. Yeah, that would be great, but recess time has been slashed to the bare bone bc administration has no clue what kids need, and they sure donât give a shit about teachersâ sanity. There is no recess on any inclement weather day.
That's cute but recess is not important for the data lol. America has a problem with education and obesity.
You are correct but it isnât the priority that it should be.
I love this lady! So funny! So entertaining.... and truthful! Lol
YES!!!! This woman is PREACHING!!!
Best teacher haul I have seen so far. Thank you, friend. Made me laugh about the pillows. I was thinking flexible seating before you even said it.
As a sub I can attest to these suggestions! I'm putting together a kit for my kids' teachers soon!
My last 4 years, I was an program coordinator. I kept a bowl of chocolate near my door for teachers. I could tell what kind of a day we were having by how fast the bowl emptied. đđđđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Pro tip- those headphones you were holding, they suck. Theyâre cheap, and good quality, but they break after about a month. Wonât charge, wont connect to anything, etc. Speaking from experience.
The insoles! The real deal. My back, hip, and knee pain was about to drive me to cry, being on my feet on concrete for eight hours straight. Insoles are a life-saver.
Very funny - she's a REAL teacher!
Honest to goodness one year one of my kids parents, who knew her child was a âlittle tryingâ gave me a large boxed gift at the end of the year. When I opened it up it was slightly smaller than a fishbowl wine glass with a large bottle of wine! They know!
I would need the same list here in Brazil.đ€
It's universal..ha ha!
OMG! I absolutely adore this woman. I substitute taught for about 7 years K-12 and he youâd of had to be there to believe it lol.
I used to work in a school where the teachers brought whisky in their purses.
Amen again! Buy it all! All she said and more!! Tell them!
Sheâs like the grownup teacher version of kid president
Always appreciated teachers. †You are the real deal! My sister was a teacher overseas for 7 years. I homeschool my 1st grade daughter and my pre-k age son now. Definitely need all the chocolate and all the coffee. My daughter is strong willed and a perfectionist like I was as a child. đł
I feel so sorry for any teacher that will have my son when he starts. I think Iâll just buy everything you mentioned as a way of saying Iâm sorry and lord help you.
Literally the items I have been buying these past two weeks. We need it all.
my boyfriend is a high school math teacher and this video just made me want to make him a little gift basket
đđđđcoffee is a must in đ€Łso hard it hurtsâ€ïž
Absolutely spot on!!!!
