I remember when I started oth I was immediately obsessed with their friendship and was literally praying that they wouldn't be made a couple. I'm so glad the writers kept them platonic cause a laley or hucas or whatever you wanna call them would have completely ruined it.

Unpopular opinion: Lucas and Haley were the best relationship on One Tree Hill.
I loved how they were very close yet platonic, like a brother and sister.
I know they are fictional characters but I like to think that their relationship showed viewers back in the 2000s and now in the 2020s that it is in fact possible for hetero boys and girls to just be best friends.

I'm glad they never made Lucas and Haley romantic and kept their relationship platonic, it would completely ruined their friendship so the show could create more drama. Lucas already had his own drama Brooke and Peyton, The Laley friendship would have never been the same again, if the writers made them romantic and Lucas ended up cheating on Haley, the way he cheated on Brooke with Peyton.

But isolated, let's say a romcom of Lucas and Haley as the main character with no other OTH characters involved, their dynamic would actually be super cute going from friends to lovers and slowly realising from both not liking each other that way. But obviously as platonic friends they're cute as well as it is.
