My Jyotish guru was Hart de Fouw of Light on Light, who studied one-on-one for 17 years w/ his Jyotish guru, Mantri-ji, of traditional Indian lineage. He insisted core group learn Sanskrit and taught Jyotish using Sanskrit. I notice that he is not in your list of recommended authors. What he taught and believed re: classics is consistent with what I've read from you. I spent 20 years scratching the surface of Jyotisha and appreciate the refresher info and new knowledge I'm learning from you, with deep respect and devotion to the Jyotir Vidya for leading me to your blog.

Thank you for all the information you've shared. I start hearing voices, become emotionally unstable, etc, after performing a havan or even lighting lamps during puja. I suspect that fire, used in the context of a spiritual practice causes issues for me

IPlay the kavach of the deities in your shop/home in a low volume for as long as you want.
It will improve the energy of the shop and the people in the shop.

You will have to look for some online stores which sell these products in your nation or ship them from India to your location.

To purchase in USA and in city having a Hindu temple and OR an Indian grocery store, the latter may carry needed items.
For a time, I lived in the North Bay of SF Bay area. In San Rafael, there is an Indian restaurant that has an attached store. In Berkeley, in the East Bay, there are multiple shops carrying supplies. Guessing a search using keywords of these locations and "pooja supplies" may be helpful.
Amazon also carries many things. I use Banyan Botanicals as my first place for herbs, as the company was started by the man who ran the herb room when I was studying Ayurveda w/ Dr. Lad in Albuquerque, and I know him to have a sattvic intention and trust their products. Banyan did not have Ajwain (surprised me), so I ordered that and some other things from the US branch of India Shop-- arrived promptly & prices reasonable. Also, they offer edible camphor, which no listing in results on Amazon carried the word "edible", so I avoided ordering from Amazon. The small jar of camphor itself did NOT show "Edible" and advised use for pooja purposes only, so is questionable if the desired product.
Amazon shows many offers of Desi cow dung, which I find myself not trusting for authenticity so unsure of a reliable source for that. I once fed a lot of Desi cows during a pilgrimage to Sri Nath-ji, probably missed my opportunity, lol.

I live in a Himalayan state so these ingredients are available very easily even in the grocery stores.
The best option for cities is an online store. Or an Indian temple / store in your city.
