    Beautiful elegantly humble voice for all of us Mexicans!
    Oaxaca, land of the hand molded black clay and black mole, made of soil spice blossoms, reaped and seasoned by the hands of pure hearted Mexican women. Crib for Monte Alban, the most amazing pyramid in this world. Gracias Lila!

    Fantastic interview! Lila shows such depth of character. I have three Mexican grandchildren of whom I am so proud ; their father is also American with some Scottish heritage from his father. I sent the link of this video to them all to watch.

    Totally understand Lila Downs searching for herself. Being brought up in Bicultural Bilingual settings offers a diversity that encourages us to research, learn, and find oneself. I never felt my culture inferior. I just struggled double. Had to prove oneself and work harder, study harder. My mother was from Jalisco. I felt her energy in her teaching us to never be ashamed. My father also from Jalisco worked hard and struggled. He read, wrote, and spoke both Spanish & English. Growing up the discrimination always made us learn more, suffer more, and endure more. We learned Spanish & English. We learned diversity having all kinds of different friends. But prejudice & discrimination do hurt and trigger emotions.

    but look... Jesus loves everyone. Trump is a person. he can still REPENT. and as true lovers of Christ we MUST pray for his conversion from HATE to LOVE

  • @deaddentist733
    @deaddentist733 Před 5 lety

    to that person that told me my prayers are a waste. it's not u to judge. u r not my Jesus. I rather pray and b wrong than think like u... condemning people bc they r rich whatever. Trump still has a soul and can repent at the last minute like the their next to Christ on the Cross. he begged Jesus forgiveness as he was dying and the Lord told him c u in PARADISE! there is hope for us all. Satan doesn't not own one SOUL bc Jesus is the SOUL PROPIETOR!!!

    I really don't see her "greatness". I think is a way to say they listen to mexican music, but no. She is a mexican-american. Most mexicans are not. They don't want to be american.
