12 years on CZcams and I only found it some days ago. Iam binge listening. What a brilliant music to start 2024. My favourite version
I would want this for a wedding recession. Absolutely fantastic.
I absolutely love listening to this trumpet rendition of the Prelude to the Te Deum. It was for this very reason that my wife and I chose to have it played on the organ as she walked down the aisle at our wedding and my biggest regret, in fact only regret was that John Coulton couldn't be there to play the trumpet. If it was something that could happen we'd renew our vows tomorrow for the sheer experience. When I lived in Norwich I went to the cathedral where this was recorded and had this playing in my headphones. Absolutely amazing. Thank you John for posting it.
Paul Fuller thanks for the kind words! If you ever get married again 😉 I'd be delighted to play for you 🎺
How did I miss this for almost 12 years on CZcams. Brilliant
I ask myself the same question. I am watching CZcams A LOT and found this video just recently. Will subscribe 😊
WOW!!!!!
Csodálatos trombitajáték.
Bravoooo fenséges.
Bravoo John !!!
Fenséges Carpenter mester is megirigyelné!!
Glorious and Epic finale!
Such power in both of those instruments!
This makes me want to pick up my trumpet again after 17 years of not having played... Oh to take lessons and re-learn. Absolutely beautiful John. Best I've heard.
Thanks Seth! Hope you pick up the trumpet soon 🎺
Beautifully played. Such a clear tone!

Thanks Ali!

this is what I want played at my wedding
Triumphant performance!
beautiful john coulton thank you
Kurt Schlesinger Thank you!
Excellent job John, great playing...
The whole song reminds me heavily of how any soulslike boss should be like:
Inherently, technically demanding ,yet framed in a rhythm that is somewhat easiliy recalled.
If ever done so: Outstanding!
Absolutely a wonderfull and technical 101% performance!
Thank you! 😊
Yes, Eurovision music 🎵.
Outstanding! with nice embelishments!
Very nice
One of the best songs I’ve ever heard. 👏👏👏
Me too, I know the piece, from the Eurovision intro or theme.
Our wedding processional. Beautiful!
I'm playing today this, as my first ever solo, in a church. It was excellently played!
gameoneon123 Thanks for the kind words. Hope your performance went great!
Magnificent embellishments played by a true virtuoso trumpeter in the grand style !!! The chemistry between both of these musicians was phenomenal!!! The infinite superiority of the piccolo trumpet over the much less evoled baroque trumpet is quite evident here!!! I am sure the poor souls who were forced to hear the baroque trumpet in their day wish they could have lived to hear a trumpet like this!!!!!
Dennis Pearson thank you so much for kind words! Much appreciated 😊
Absolutely amazing. So inspiring and uplifting to hear this timeless piece played so well amid these unsettling times. Thank you.
Beautiful!
it's only a pity I can give only one thumb up… that's the only thing I regret every time I listen to him.
Giovanni Favaretto Thank you very much!

Thanks Charlotte! Are you a trumpet player yourself?
Well, I'm 56 and started learning just 5 months ago. It was something I always wanted to do. Loving it!
Great to hear! Never too late to start I reckon. All the best!
Thank you! It helps to listen to the best!

Wow! This is the best trumpet/organ recording of this on here. Very nice and stately as it should be!
Wow! High praise indeed. Thank you :)
Thanks for posting the video!
It truly is excellent.
@@JohnCoultonTrumpet excuse me, i have been playing the trumpet for 1 year, can I ask you a question? Is The instrument, which you used to play Te deum, a normal trumpet? I saw that it had four pistons and it was very small. In Italy, the place where I am from, is called "trombino" ("little trumpet"), but I haven't seen it in action. Apologize for my English. Thank you in advance
Giuseppe Rallo thanks for getting in touch. It’s called a Piccolo Trumpet. It’s built in the key of A but can also be tuned to Bflat. The 4th valve is added to produce lower notes if needed. Hope this helps! Best wishes, John.
Pure, perfect, stunning!! Ausgeszeichnet, ich schreibe mit Gänsehaut....ich hab' alles genoßen. Vielen Dank!!!
Great performance and recording, John and David! This is definitely my fave of all the recordings of this prelude on CZcams. As an occasional organist, I like the crisp and clear delivery of the organ accompaniment as well as a the tempo and improvisation all round. Great job, guys!
Aidan Dixon Thanks Aidan! Shameless plug - check out our CD recordings on iTunes or at www.johncoulton.com :)
love the trumpet's embellishments
Every note is perfectly articulated, and the phrasing is superb
You've got to be having a laugh! Phrased like a quantised robot!
A. MA. ZING !
This would make a commoner like me a prince were I to process up the aisle to Charpentier's "Te Deum" especially, with John Coulton's masterful trumpeting.
Thanks Hudson!
Really excellent in every regard John - very engaging....
Magnificent! Charpentier must be overjoyed...
Very nicely done !

Thank you SO VERY much of your enterpretation of the Prelude to the Te Deum: I'm an an Organist, and love playing this piece with a Trumpeter, at Weddings: Can you attend the next one I'm doing, and put your 'spin' to the Tunes? 10/10, sir! I bow to (both) your talents..........
When and where is the gig?!
John Coulton Lols, St Mark's Parish Church, Newtownards, County Down, Northern Ireland....I'm SURE the bride, whomever she is, would LOVE to have such a talent at her 'big day!' Dates, TBA.....;-)
Gaggy Mott No problem! Just make sure there is enough money in the performance fee to cover flights from Australia, 5 star accommodation and a few pints at the local watering hole afterwards ;)
Thank you. I've enjoyed this very much!
Thanks Denise!
exeptional
Superb!
