This is crazy man so many workers were stunned by you and a simple question or statement.
did i miss something? you didnt really delve into anything. you just walked around and looked at some scrap cars and made assumptions that you didn't back up with any proof. I'm not saying its not happening but in terms of investigative reporting this didn't uncover anything, other than scrap cars exist in Melbourne.
Your off your head buddy. This is the same guy that didn't know the mad Max car was
@@arthurkatsavos958 your response to someones accurate viewpoint is "they're of their head because they didnt no a movie car" 🤣🤣🤣
Not all are sus but as a ex criminal I’ve sold a few vf clubsports and AMG’s so there definitely out there
When a life coach tries to explain someone else's video 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
@@phxenixs3801 feel free to show me where he proved anything. he walked around looking at scrap yards.
Also notice how everyone was very defensive?
I mean, if you want to promote a business you wouldnt mind being filmed to promote your business. Obviously something shady going on
I was just thinking that you would gladly promote your business not hide
People get concerned about media as too much misrepresents the actual truth. Parts wreaking is a business repairable cars are another. And each case of a car being sold under what condition is a case by case basis.
This video is misinformation
You don't need to promote a wreckers it sells its self for what it is
Defensive? All their items are scattered on the road and he's scouting lol off they're defensive haha
i worked in a wrecker when i was a 18, I guarantee every one of those places have dangerous OHAS hazzards and non-qualified people as my self fix your car :)
help clean up the city and the streets. not dissing the hard work these people do but there's a right way and a wrong way to do things
Being a Sri Lanka, never go to Lanka motors in Dandenong. hahahahahaha
How is being a wreckers a scam? Sure there are such as chop shops. But to assume everyone is criminal is pretty low.
That Prado will be at the auction then licensed with roadworthy certificates & cruising around VIC in no time😅‼️
100% seems like a crazy concept to call the whole industry as a scam
What's the timestamp where you say he made this claim? I didn't hear it. You seem to be on the offensive for a comment never made. Something to hide?
@@brettleonard8602 time stamp 0.00 to 15.00….
You seem offended about me being offended. Something to hide Brett Leonard 8602??
@Dyna-mite154 like I thought you got nothing, he didn't say the words you accused him of. Lmao, obviously he got under your skin, definitely something to hide.
Clay by the way. Im glad you touched up on this topic. Many many people dont know how big this scam is.
Ive had a brand new mazda car. Sent it to a panel beater. All it had was a side scrape on the driver door. Not a crash. Car was about 2 years old with about 30,000km.
I got my car back, all the new parts in my car were replaced with old and second hand or used parts.
They swapped my air con parts when i got it back it stopped working, they took out my door panels inside then replaced the electric window parts to old parts , the swapped thr two front seats to seats they had stains on it, seats looked old like faded black , they swapped some original panels in my car to non genuine panels. My panels feel like plastic not the original it came in.
This is the truth.
This panel beater had 5 star reviews, but when i went in they were dodgy and looked dodgy. The service wasnt even 5star.
Be careful of dodgy panel beaters and look at your car parts when you get your car back.
Wow that sounds unbelievable
@@Pia-ho9dm i mean, bring your car in, i can sell your window motor for $100 as example and replace it with a used one for $20. Good thing is, you wouldnt know ;) but blame the car and go dealer to fix it ;)
@@airforceone6523 but I am referring to your situation. The parts they swapped on your car are so obvious it's comical.
@@Pia-ho9dm i mean im not forcing you to believe me whether its true or not. How many times do you think they get away with this?
Lets say for women.
If they get a front panel repaired.
Do they look inside the door panels? Do they look inside the car to see if its their car parts?
Or do these women look at what was repaired? And you dont have alot of time to inspect every spec of your car as there is a panel beater with you waiting.
I know many people who get their car repaired on the outside but never check inside of the car if anything has been touched or damaged.
Thats my experience. I mean its upto you if you want to check your car and trust your panel beater. Entirely up to you.
No harm with me telling the audience, be careful and try check your car parts etc.. if everything is working as they should.
Noone trusts a car salesman or a mechanic… what difference is it to a panel beater?
Unless your one of these resellers eh?
You can request the insurance assessor comes out and inspects the car repairs upon completion. I guess we all have to start filming our cars when we drop them off to smash repairers , to prove the condition of the car when brought in for repair.
The 90s alot of people would steal a car strip it then dump it, wait for it to show up at the auctions buy for nothing put ut back together and sell it, alot of people made alot of money
Yeah the Holden's aye undo entire front end doors interior and rear panels stripped and loaded in 40 minutes that's why since mid 90s every parts data dotted
Not as easy to do today though, way too many processes in place to get a new VIN or even try to swap one.
Never seen a wrecking yard before? 😂
Sure, there's some dodgy shit that goes on in the industry, but you are over dramatising it way too much.
Even sold through these dodgy auctions
Find me an auction house in Australia 🇦🇺 with excellent google or product reviews !
Clients who were sold rubbish but advertised as a mint
All dodgy.
I guarantee you that land ain’t owned by the owners of those cars.
The poor owner of that block wouldn’t even know that their land is a dumping ground for these crooks.
Where are the authorities ? Unregistered cars parked on a public road.
Council probably turns a blind eye or get payed off
Auctions are not what they used to be, dodgy dealers have realized they can put late model rubbish with clapped gearboxes or electronics that will cost 000s to repair through them as there is no test drives allowed before purchase. Or classic car auctions with rusty or repaired chassis ,leaks and tons of issues easily hidden in auctions. You bid you buy is the rule so buyer beware.
It costs $2 to do a PPSR check. People are stupid.
@@_wallnutz_PPSR checks can’t tell you if there is any rust in the car body, or mechanical problems that have been masked up.
@@paulsz6194 We are talking about repairable write-offs being repaired and resold which is under 15 years old.
The place where the 180 was is a place that stores stolen and recovered cars for the police we picked my dads recoverd stolen vy ss ute from their
it all goes to dubi the aussie wrecker game has been ruined by afgans
Definitely
100% the building industry too 😂😂😂
The fact that they question you filming is already sus, these places are a money laundering heaven on top of dodgy repairs
Lots of crashed V8 Holden's get repaired and imported to NZ and sold as used cars, it's not until the new owner has issues and takes it somewhere to be fixed they uncover it's been in a crash before, that's why I wouldn't buy an imported Holden from Australia only buy NZ new holdens
I think this is a good indication of what Vic has become.
? This isint a new thing, live near their owners are mostly dodgy middle easterners. But this isint anything new don’t really get when you say “become”
Clay the edits on this video are top notch!! Great stuff bro 😎
A lot of cars are bought at auction and then taken to have either parts or other components attached to a vehicle that isn’t on the accident list from the vin number.
I have heard of vehicles that have been smashed in the opposite end of the vehicle get cut in half and then welded together.
I can’t remember who it was but someone bought a vehicle that is highly sort after by JDM enthusiasts.
After getting the vehicle home and deciding to fit his sound system he lifted up the carport and found that the vehicle had two floors.
They had simply cut the two cars apart and attached them together by welding the floors together.
Its called a cut and shut,
Its what panelbeaters do .
And its not a matter of just welding it together.it needs to be put on chassis table ,lots of measurements and engineering approval is needed amongst a few other hundred procedures that us panel beaters are trained for.
Shut your mouth before someone comes out of one of those shops and dose it for you.
I would say 90% of the cars you've shown will have being purchased for parts only.
It's all the lebos
Melbourne is a multi cultural hellhole
I remember a few months ago in Braybrook Melbourne, I went out with my dad went out to look for a panel beater for his car and then I saw a wrecked damaged GTR r34 skyline!!!
There for parts ! Pannel worth money and rare
watched the whole video - what are you trying to say? Wreckers are supposed to get brand new cars and sell for parts? This happens all around the world mate. Without these guys how can we repair our project cars???
Some wreckers knowingly buy stolen car parts or whole cars to strip the car bodies out & resell them
No they dont that was back in the day its not that simple now@@paulsz6194
I’ve sold plenty of stolen cars from amg to hsv’s there definitely out here and is a small niche with a lot of money to be made
i swear most cars get sent up here to brisbane, legit they have heaps of dealerships whom only sell Wovi cars
Chuck a drone up to see the cars
WOuld love to see an episode on Sydney's wreckers
Perfect example of misinformation from someone who has no knowledge of salvage vehicles. Very far from the truth, I don’t deal with these dodgy wreckers at all, ever, because they are hard to deal with. They definitely aren’t conspiring to rebirth stolen cars that’s for sure. You need to back up a little mate, you missed the biggest scam.. back track to where it starts, the cars accidents, look into the towies and when & where they forcefully take peoples cars and hold them ransom, before releasing it to be assessed by a bodyshop for the insurance, then it gets sent off to pickles after being categorised (wovr, wovr n/a, stat wo). The car replacement companies “credit hire cars” , they get sent the persons personal details including their licence sent to them by some crim towie , they then give the not-at-fault party a free car (basically dropping it at thier door), then charge the at-fault & thier insurance extortionate amounts, in the thousands for short term, and tens of thousands for those whose car get written off waiting on a payout. Real life legal extortion between crims and dodgy hire car companies. These people pass your details out to all sorts wanting you to use them to claim against the insurance and other parties.
Massive richard cranium.
Allgood man insurance companies make ms what’s 10-100k to them ?
26:16 waiting for the zap from the fence 😂
No Phots? please Clay, you are in a public area, you have every right to film, tell them to shut up
You wonder if the auto dismantling industry is getting insentivized to move more ICE vehicles off the road to make way for EVs... idk if their that dodgy more than the money is for the pickings in this market
Love your channel man! ❤️ From Adelaide.
This is defamation at its best.
34 minutes of complete nonsense.
You’re right. They’re all just honest John’s trying to make a living, trying to pay the bills and put food on the table…🤣 You obviously don’t know that the dodgy people operate amongst legitimate businesses… That would be like saying there are no stolen goods at a Pawn Broker shop’s because they have to check & record your details when buying the goods… 👍🏽
Dandenong has nothing on Townsville
barely anything happens in danddy
No photos, she says. Get stuffed if it's viewable from a public area. You can film/photograph it. The fact she didn't want you filming on top of old mate who owns it saying we don't sell anything... yeah, dodgy as.
Yeah… or perhaps it’s a holding yard, impound lot, insurance assessment lot….
@Dyna-mite154 so why not simply say so. If it was an insurance yard there's nothing to hide.
you got my respect for this one Clay
Some really big assumptions being made here. A lot of wreckers don’t sell to public as you could see the shipping containers. A lot are sent overseas for parts
But if a possible buyer comes by wouldn’t you think they would sell it’s a little fishy
@@bumbl8178 what exactly is the probably with buying a used part?
spare parts for Taliban via Chinah 🤣
He asked if there's any good deals. Would you not say depending on what parts you want. Not " we don't sell anything here walla bro".
For any of them to be registered needs a viv anyway and it’s very hard to pass a test, parts are mainly panels and accessories and trims anyway it’s not that serious
Exactly like this isn't even crazy bit of a stretch to call the whole parts and repair industry as a scam
This is pretty naive tbh .Most of these would be legitimate businesses, theyre mostly just wreckers recycling parts. Their biggest crime is the prices they charge . They buy a wrecked vehicle for $600 and can make ten or twentyfold in parts or more. A few are holding yards for insurance companies where tow trucks drop vehicles waiting to be assessed. Admittedly many are on the borderline of dodgy as that is the world they operate in but overall not really a big deal
Nothing wrong with anything here if anything there helping the car community helped me heaps of hilux parts
labor cost is insane, rather write off than repairing. sustainable or unsustainable? that's a question.
Using the roadside for storage is not ideal. However, I doubt that these companies are doing anything more than parts recycling. A critique I have is that today's wrecker customer service is the worst. I only buy from private parting-out FB sellers these days.
Part out? Part out? 🐦🐦🐦
I like this. Something different.
Maybe down the track you start doing paranormal activies or investigatr haunted homes??? Would be awesome.
Since i have seen and experienced paranormal things. Oh and for the comments i dont smoke drugs or drink alcohol or take mental medications.
Ok Tyler Olivera, calm down, there not all dodgy wreckers 🙄‼️
I think its about time we get similar system as lot of European countries have then when cars get written off the photos are collated on a registry so when someone does a revs check atleast these cars come up with photos prior to fixed up
Amazing content clay wong
Much love from kenya 🇰🇪.
Now I'd like to ask were the keys still in ignition
Look into the WOVR system. you'll find the reason they get write offs from one state to another. NEVER buy from Tasmania as they have the worst system. I looked at a 2nd hand car saw the repairs Tasmania rego.. in N.S.W asked him a few questions did a little research and bingo. 💯 written off vehicle rebirthed.
This video is a massive L bro
why did u blur out legit th ebest car of the video bruh
@22:43...... he's talking about pickles auctions.....these "wreckers" are why you cant get a bargain at car auctions.... buying for parts or re-birthing undocumented write offs......another reason why its becoming harder to register a car in VIC
Very dramatic and over the top .LOL
You’re game, take care mate, stay safe
nothing you see was stolen, you just toured the salvage/breakers and insurance storage yards, did you really think legit stolen cars they could get arrested for are blatantly in public view?
They are called chop shops bro
AEEEYOO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU GOTTA DO CLAY GET YOU SOME LAND AND COUPLE FLAT BEDS MY G AND GET TO WORK MY GUY
Hi Clay love your videos how do i reach you as i run the civic type r club sydney and would love for you to come to a meet and greet. god bless bro.
I was watching the video earlyer on i hit pause and went out, i come back home hit play and that purple s13 and the ss were sensored...
1 thing ive learnt in my 44 years is NEVER BUY A CAR FROM A CARYARD ive been fkd on 3 times ill never buy a car from a car dealer again unless its brand new...
Those 12 month warantys you get from a dealer are not even worth the paper they are written on and the warranty companys lie and do all sorts of shonky stuff so they dont have to pay to fix your car... uve been warned ⚠️
Awsome video clay thanks mate
180sx purple type x is getting stripped for parts , the parts very rare . Some of the clean pannel still on it
That place is a holding yard the police!
People not wanting to talk after having a camera pointed in their face doesn't mean anything. Most people would get camera shy especially while their at work
Why they so standoffish when he’s recording lol
0:49 a " Legitimate scam " as opposed to an " illegitimate scam" ?
Now hes putting shit on engineers!
You at roll racing tonight??
Man, those places are just junkyards/ recyclers. When cars are stolen they are parted out of exported, they aren´t recycled like you showed... Im a bit confused on the vid
Well the ones in dande are bikie owned arent they?
Middle Eastern
bros overreacting
100 percent
Can i get a refund of my 34:15 minutes pls?
What do you expect cars to stay happy and have a happy life and just magiclly disapear when they bad accidents they are wreckers and scrap yards that buy them and some are repairable and go to panel beaters to get fixed
I hope you are safe 😢
Ballarat the worst clay
i think this video has a lot of open ended questions, being in the motor vehicle repair trade, yes a lot of written off cars are sold for parts, some not to the public but also one category you have the insurance repairer which in good practice repair with new parts however the tender to stay within insurance claims there is a very tight margin they have to stay within. Then you have the other end of the repair market who repair cars to sell to wholesalers which are then put in stock for car dealers, parts are recycled to keep costs down for higher sales margins. i see this on a day to day basis, however i feel this video made is assuming stolen cars made to rebirth is what its based on. just a vibe i felt watching this video which is abit skewed and as for people not being friendly, they're just workers. its not a skillset to try and approach customers or just randoms on the street lol.
When’s the fd getting written off? Ship it my way haha
Huh? Looks like a scrap yard, panel beating, auto spares section of the industrial area….we have plenty of those in Sydney.
We’re also getting a lot of Indians as well….🙄 I would say majority run businesses like they’re still in India…🙄

They can take note of the VIN and give the person a ticket still
