Talking from experience here, remember to leave some room for expansion around the edges of your flooring. Seasonal change can make your floors swell and can create bumps as things expand. Just leave like 10mm around the perimeter or whatever the flooring brand recommends. Your looks very tight to the edge of your walls. I had to fix mine using one of those flush cut saws.
The bigger issue is, even if there is enough space - sound is going to transfer into the walls making your neighbors love you
I have installed a few wood floors, one of the best things I found were cork expansion strips. Shove those under the beading, nobody is any wiser, and your floor has slight room to move.
He may just get away with it as the room is very small and if the floor expands it will be expanding into plasterboard which is softer than the wood.
@@Marco_zlb Modern underlays are really good these days. As long as you are not walking around in stilettos it will be just fine.
Another tip is that you can leave a gap at the bottom of the drywall so that the floor can expand under the drywall!
Looks great! I am always amazed at how positive you are under pressure. Love from Canada!
Wow, what a difference just getting the drywall up makes. Remember, the more tired you get the more apt you are to make mistakes, the more mistakes, the easier it is to get hurt. Stay safe. That drywall system looks good.
love seeing the progress! 😌
I also have fiber-reinforced drywall in one wall of my home because I was going to cover with natural stone, which weighted ~80kg/m2. It is very nice and sturdy, but watch out when you want to hang anything from them, you cannot use the cheap nylon drywall anchors. Those just don't work, the drywall is to hard for them and they break before screwing. Use the metal ones or some other kind.
For walls you know you want to hang anything heavy on, you can also add a sheet of OSB behind the dry wall. Then you just put any screw you'd like without any anchors and it will never fail you.
@@pauwel But it's hard to know in advance where you're going to hang stuff. Also, even if OSB is cheap, that would be way more expensive that buying good drywall anchors.
@@MiguelCamba According to Norgips you can screw directly in the Ultraboard. It can even be used instead of OSB, behind other wall boards.
You are doing an impressive work and both make a beautiful couple.
Can't wait to se the furniture you make for your house
best home reno series on youtube
So excited for you both. I have been loving the journey and can’t wait to see it all finished 👍
That drywall system seems really awesome! Very nice work!
That drywall system seems awesome and with that magnetic thingy the cut outs for the electrical looks super clean!
This is awesome bro, you guys are k!llin it. Well done. It's looks amazing. I really like how you were able to hang the drywall, very cool. Congrats on the success, I can't wait to see it mudded, painted and see what cool things you have in store. The best part about all of this.. is that you not only get to say you two did 99.9% of ALL of the work (minus plumber). And now you can look back at your videos and see where you started and how far you've come. Congrats you two.
That Drywall stuff looks heavy... I cannot imagine having to carry all that up those stairs, yet you have managed and persevered through all those challenges... Congrats on your progress, looks fantastic. The next video will be interesting
Exciting! It's starting to look like a home!
Hi Alex, next time you should spend 1-2 weeks learning the basics of drywall. At first glance, it looks quite alright. But what strikes me directly is the lack of decoupling between the profiles and the wall and floor. Later, the sound is transmitted through the connected profiles. The profiles are not mounted with pressure and tensile stiffness. This means that leaning against them or fixing a cupboard/shelf will be an adventure. Single planking can be done, but this is again a sound insulation issue and also fixing shelves. The biggest mistake, however, will be the lack of insulation protection. We install a vapour barrier (foil) for this. Without it, moisture will seep through the drywall into the insulation. It starts to mould there. In addition, there are some small faults, such as the missing farse on the boards. After filling, you will only be able to remove the transitions with a lot of effort. There are also cracks. You don't join walls like that. The house is working and the drywall will crack. The mix of metal and wood in the substructure also leads to stresses and possibly cracks due to different expansion. Greetings from a German master in drywall construction and acoustics.
One of my absolute favorite show to follow! Love seeing the progress and all the detail you show us. Great work!
Your content is my favorite on CZcams! The progress looks awesome. Can't wait to see more.
YESSSS!!!!! A video this soon?! thank you!!
Congrats Alex, it's all coming together finally and it looks amazing.
Love your energy! Great series. thank you for your efforts.
Well done mate. I once refurbished an entire apartment myself, and didn't document much! You'll be glad to look back on these videos in the future!
That drywall system is amazing!
Nice work, I'm enjoying the series and i wish they had drywall boards like that in Canada!
Just keep posting and "spark" the interest. People will come and watch. People will come and post, like me. Thanks Alex.
Great Job, well done!
Your videos are very inspirational. Keep it up!
Extremely efficient and diligent. Wow!
Starting to come together. Look so great! I'm very excited to see the following video. Fantastic job you both have done.
Great work! I love seeing the different building materials you use compared to the USA. From experience remodels always take longer than expected, but you guys are doing a fantastic job. ❤
Hang in there guys and gals!!! Looking GREAT!!
Fantastic job, can't wait to see it finished.
Congratulations on massive amount work done by yourself!? The wallboard system is a great new idea and you demonstrated how it works - great video.
I buy, restore and sell buildings every 3 years or so and started with a small house leading to a 5 bedroom house without costing me any more debt, my next move will be last and this will be my 5th house and I will have a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home and my debt should be clear in 14 years since I started and my debt never increased, I kept releasing the equity and reinvesting my profits.
When I buy a new house, I concentrate on 1 bathroom and 1 bedroom then sell my old house and move in to complete the renovation. As long as you have a clean bedroom and bathroom it is fairly easy to live in a restoraton project.
Amazing work!
You guys rock! Thanks for sharing!
nice job..One of my absolute favorite show to follow! good lock Alex...
hey! great progress! :) .. it might look overwhelming, but you gonna make it and in a year this is going to be a great story (with great documentation :)
Looking good. Your always so cheerful.
Well done! Awesome journey and amazingly documented 👍🏻
I feel you my men! Great job!

Hope the moving went smooth - nice job man!
This is so awesome! Light a candle and the rooms will be plenty warm 🤣
So much work, I am sorry for you. Great video. Thanks
Great job. I pray the move goes well.
Great Job!
ngl, Vilde (spelling?) is totally adorable jumping through the 'walls'.
I've just insulated and drywalled a room in an old place, I've never seen those plastic strips that connect the sheets here in New Zealand but man, what a game changer!
I have to see if I can get something similar now for any future projects
Nice work. I would love to see a cost breakdown especially with all the advanced materials you are using.
Great work! It is finally a real room to live in!
The system to find the electrical boxes by magnets really impressed me! So simple but ingenious! But please make sure to check the wires in that box you hit with that cutting tool before connecting the outlet.
Why didn't you insulate the outside walls? I am not that experienced with renovations, but I would guess the outside walls should be insulated to save energy and to avoid mold?
Great man.
Might be worth considering putting cork strips around your floor. Should allow it to move very slightly as it's quite soft. beading hides it well. :)
Hell yeah - neeeeew episode ❤
Fake dude piss off!
Other cooking shows, do you mean eg har juksa lite granne? Hehehe 😂 Nice work, fun to see some Norwegian builds!
Love it ❤
nice video congratulations
Amazing!
Well done, it's pretty late, you must have moved in now, I am a few videos late :). For a first time you went deep in the work, but you'll surely be pretty proud and happy once it will be finished (it's never completely finished by the way ^^), let's say mostly.
I'm in the same kind of process these days, thanks for taking the time to share what you're doing while you're doing it ^^, I couldn't afford to take the time to do such extra work on my side x).
Keep up ;), and enjoy
wooohooo!! already looks livable!!! :D
😂😂😂 cheers from Italy!!!
How 😲 that’s serious work !! But you seem to see the end of the tunnel 🎉
Respect 🎯🔨
It's so rewarding when you see things coming together as planned, would hate to work against that deadline.
That drywall gun from Essve, it's battery powered ? Battery seemed small, compared to nailguns I've used.
Sjukt bra jobba, du e rå man
So hi is Roman :)
Love to watch that video. Super smart tools with an awesome way to apply them. Now I will continue watching... was just at minute 5:15 😂
It looks amazing! But I thought you removed all the walls initially because you werent planning on putting them back up again. Did plans change or were you always planning on remaking new walls? Cheers!
Just found your channel. Some interesting products and a cool channel! What country are you you in and what country are the products from?
Continued success!
With all the white parts this video felt like a church commercial 🤣
Dude! And WHEN do you edit your videos?? Amazing work and I'm just convinced you have a few extra hours in your day over there in Norway.
17:49, me when I fix something.
awesome
Love you man🇲🇦
hi Alex great video what is the brand of the H profiles to replace the strips?
@Alex can you please share the name and modell of the black door handles you installed? I have been looking for something similar for my house 😊
Obviously I don't know the layout of the rooms. But it looks like you have way to few power outlets. You always need them in places you haven't though of yet and they are so cheap and easy to add now. Just something to think about for the other side of the apartment. I Denmark, the minimum requirement by law is 1 outlet per started 4m2 and they have to be in different locations. That is the old minimum and it is way to few for a modern apartment
thought the same, when seeing this. but hey its dry wall. so can be fixed "relatively" easy...
Grand designs host: "who's your arhcitect? who's your builder? when's your move in date???"
id like to see how youre gonna manage a double bed in that little room. Are you planning on getting in from the foot of the bed?
boom!
Aw dang you should have done flush trim
Quick question: Shouldn't the plastic joining strips be places the other way around?
You are a beast 😅
Do you put in drywall screws as well? Or just rely on those nails? Also, would it be good to tuck in some of that insulation along the edges of the window before putting up the drywall?
Oh, and I might have missed it, but why are you putting up regular dry wall and then the fibre one over top of it? Is that for sound dampening?
Bit of insulating foam in the cavities around the window boxing would’ve been ok?!
👍
It seemed like you had a nice big bedroom but then you split it into two smaller and more awkwardly shaped rooms, what are they going to be?
I want to paint these walls :0
i dont know what you did but you got me insulating my garage these past few days -- that has not been insulated since god knows when.
Do you still have your workshop? :D
Well done guys, keep going! I want to ask you, what heating system will be in your apartment ? And what ceiling height you have ?
Floor heating and 2.8m
@@achappel Thank you for your answer! I didn't see that you put something under the hardwood floor, just underlayment.
Standard drywall has fibers these days, well here in the uk it all has to be recycled. Metal wall studs are pretty much standard these days also. Don't know why companies try reinvent things that have existed for a while lol
When my parents build their house we moved in while there was no flooring and barely electricity and hot water
P sure in my country you're required to put goop on the back of the boards
