- Hello everyone and welcome back! It's been a while but we have an overview video of Angel Robles' 1980 TE71 Sprinter Trueno also known as the Corolla here in the United States. This beautiful ride had it's beginning in Germany and made its way stateside and later in to an avid Toyota enthusiast's hands. I owned a 1980 Toyota Corolla - exaclty like this. And I do mean EXACTLY like this. It was given to me by my Aunt as she had purchased her first Mercedes. This car took me thru high school, many years of college before an accident that was POORLY repaired forced me to junk it. The engine was put in my mom's '77 Corolla Wagon that got her thru her nursing college years. I'm sorry but that paint, the interior, everything about it brought back so many memories I was sitting here crying. A youth long ago lost. Funny thing is...the exhaust sounds the same. Thanks for showing this car and the mods...wish I could have had that back in the '80's when I needed them...still...that little rocket would RUN!!!
Those Corollas were a great sensation at the Drag strip in the 80' 12, 11, 10 seconds. Little monsters.
Simply love the stock TE71

Of course it had to be a PR, we love these lil boxes to death, this by far is my favorite chassis from the E70 line.

Would look so much better if it had the black side trim. It's missing and it makes it look like shit.
