Helloooo I was wondering and hoping if you could tell me tips and tricks and technique to make two footage look natural together? I'm looking into creating a crossover and I'm having a hard time choosing two clips to work together. Currently, I'm watching so many of your videos to try and study how yours look seamless and figured I could ask you directly for a little guidance.
Hey there! Uhm, it’s really just trial and error when it comes to making manip scenes! Sometimes I’ll have a certain character scene that I really want to use, but then try it out with about 15 of the second characters scenes before I find one that looks best. The main thing I look for is the eye contact, make sure there eyes are pointed in the direction of the other character and roughly the same height... camera angles also make a lot of difference, if you have a scene from the first character that’s a full body shot, it doesn’t always work if the shot of the second character is a close up of their face (sometimes it does, don’t get me wrong, but other times it just looks like a real jump)... the only other thing that I can think of off the top of my head is the lighting/colouring and backgrounds of the scenes... obviously it’s gonna look odd if you pair two clips, one with a fancy house background, and the second with a run down house background... the colouring of the scene is normally what I have most issue with, if it’s Sony Vegas you’re using I can give tips for colour matching but I’m afraid I can’t help much with any other programmes...
