Why don't they mention the name of the flower where they get saffron from? I don't get it. I couldn't even find a single video thumbnail that mentioned the flower name. It's the Crocus. Crocus sativus. Is it illegal to list or say the name? That's really strange.
Saffron is an Iranian spice. Saffron , the most expensive spice in the world , is from Iran.
Actually traditionally it has grown across Southern Europe and all the way to India. Iran dominates supply today only because the people are impoverished and labour is cheap enough for the laborious picking. Shame for a proud and intelligent people...
